  • Avoid Or Run Tub Clean Often!

    We have had this for a year. About 2 months ago, I started noticing black marks on our lighter items, especially sheets. I contacted LG customer service and was told to do a tub clean. Note, I regularly run tub clean. First tub clean did nothing. Then I was told to buy a specific tub cleaner and to run it three times. It seemed to help for a couple of weeks. Now I have to run tub clean with their recommended cleaner at least once a week. I'm afraid to run a load without running tub cleaner first because I don't want to ruin more items. FYI: the black marks are permanent. So buyer beware!

      These black marks on lighter clothes may be caused by residue, mold, or wear on the drum or gasket. While using the Tub Clean cycle is helpful, it shouldn't be necessary every week. We want to investigate the cause of these stains, whether mechanical, water-related, or detergent issues.
