If you're finding that only Deep Clean or Heavy Duty cycles are effective, here are a few steps you can try: Too much or too little can affect cleaning performance. High-efficiency (HE) detergent is recommended. Overloading the drum can prevent clothes from agitating properly, reducing cleaning effectiveness. About 2 months ago, I started noticing black marks on our lighter items, especially sheets. I contacted LG customer service and was told to do a tub clean. Note, I regularly run tub clean. First tub clean did nothing. Then I was told to buy a specific tub cleaner and to run it three times. It seemed to help for a couple of weeks. Now I have to run tub clean with their recommended cleaner at least once a week. I'm afraid to run a load without running tub cleaner first because I don't want to ruin more items. FYI: the black marks are permanent. So buyer beware!
