    Beautiful Washer

The washer works amazing, still not sure 100% I like the drum without an agitator. All in all, it's great, I'm short so need a step stool to grab the items at the very bottom of the barrel. Can't without one, I may fall in. lol. The color shows black steel, I initially thought they brought the wrong washer, mine is definitely not black steel, more like a dark grey/steel or a light black?? But beautiful. Numbers matched so I guess that's the color? I love the settings and being able to do any size wash. Love! I noticed a saving on my water bill the first month. The machine is quiet, my husband couldn't tell if it was on at first. Amazing wash setting features. If you have hard water it is difficult to remove the sediment stains from the drum. I definitely would get a water softener to protect your expensive washer investment. I love the melody it plays when finished, you can shut this feature off. Washes well, Love that I can wash items previously could not. I read gentle is not so gentle, so far no problems. To be safe I place these items in an appropriate-sized washing bag, so all good. All in all, so far love this washer. Good idea to always replace the hoses, etc. recommended when installed. Worth it. I will update review after a year.

For a family of 5, this machines is a great size so you don't have to break big loads into smaller loads. Easily washes a king size comforter. Tons of cycles, steam and wifi connectivity makes it very versatile. I never though I would use the app and wifi, but it is convenient to get a push notification to my iPhone or Apple Watch when a load is ready. Compared to my old Samsung 4.5 cubic ft. front load, I believe the clothes get just as clean, although this uses a bit more water. I think it makes up for it as I need to do fewer loads with the extra capacity. Compared to the front load, balance and spins are just as fast and takes less time as front loaders take forever to balance out a big load. So I think this machine is efficient. There are three downsides to me: 1. Because of its capacity, my wife cannot reach the bottom of the tub to retrieve small items, like socks. I bought a folding step stool from Homegoods for $10.00 to help her. 2. When you select a "Normal" load, the machine defaults to "Turbo Wash" which supposedly washes the clothes more quickly and gets the clothes very clean. I am not in a hurry and wants the clothes as clean as possible...so I always have to remember to turn this off. I wish the machine would remember your last used settings or at least let me turn it off. 3. It's louder compared to my old front load. It's livable, but is noticeable if you are coming from a front load.

This washer is great. I am so happy with the performance. It cleans my clothes and is easy to clean itself. I can fit my comforter and sheets in one load. The deep wash setting is my overall favorite. Highly recommended

I like this washer. Overall it's great. Huge capacity. Can wash sheet set and blankets together. The app is cool. Only complaints are that certain cycles, like spin only or rinse and spin, are only in the app. The washer doesn't stay connected to the app, so you have to hit the button to connect it to use those cycles. It's a small annoyance that doesn't take away from the overall benefits.

Replaced my 24 year old Maytag (that was a great machine) with the new LG Washer. The LG took a minute to get familiar with, as it has a multitude of feature my old analog machine did not. I was hesitant to get new machines but so glad I did. These new HE (high efficiency) machines are way different in how they wash clothes, so don't freak out when you see very little water in the drum. Still washes every bit as good as the old one with a small fraction of the water use. My old machine had the largest capacity (super capacity) available at the time. This machine does close to 2.5X my old washer capacity. it's quiet, works perfectly, super easy to install. No complaints at all. Should that change, I will change the rating.

We've had this washer for a little over 2 years now and we are nothing but pleased. It's worked just as it should. We have a large family, so this gets a lot of use. We easily wash at least 12 loads per week. The capacity is large enough to wash a queen size comforter without issue. (That's the largest we've tried so I can't speak for anything bigger.) We are a large family and being able to wash so many items at a time has really been great. It is quite deep, and it is difficult to reach the bottom. However, we've solved that issue with a small reach grabber tool. We just hung it on a hook next to the washer so it's always within reach. An easy solution to allow us to continue to enjoy such a large capacity.

I actually like this washing machine. We specifically bought this washing machine as a Toploader because nobody makes front load washing machines with doors that open to the left. If you have a front load dryer that opens to the right, it’s inconvenient that both doors open to the right. The washing functions of this washing machine are spot on. I have yet to have a load not wash very well. I really love the turbo spin dry. It almost evacuates all the water out of the clothes. This washer is definitely different. You have to get use to the controls. Also if the oh no, do you have them and do you have the receipt? How many yeah where is the bag and it was on thewash is running and you lean over it, if you accidentally it ouch it, the wash cycle will immediately stop and restart all over from square one. It is a requirement to press and hold the “lock controls” button. That being said, this is a really good high capacity high efficient washing machine.

So far, so good. It is quiet and the machine has worked very well. I have a large family and we use a lot of towels. Our bathroom does not have a window, so I am always concerned about the towels smelling sour. The towel’s smell really fresh every wash!

Waited a month to review to compare my experience to the good and bad reviews I had seen. After a few dozen loads of laundry I can now say that the negative reviews don't have anything in common with my experience. This washer handles very large loads (that's what she said!), and gets everything clean and spun in a much shorter time than our old front load. Extremely happy with this purchase, and the app is great!

Great Hardware; only ok software link.

The Good: Bigger Tub Size, Water Management, Lots of config options. Generally faster. The Bad: Mobile software / link could be better. The Details: I hemmed and hawed over this purchase for a while. Glad I pulled the trigger. It replaces an old cheap hot point unit that came with my current residence. Would buy again. I've been using for a few months now. No issues. Easy set up. The hardware seems like an excellent design . The bigger tub means I can do my regular laundry now in half the time. I love how it will economize on the water if I need a smaller spot load. I don't miss the central agitator and do not find any reduction in the cleaning power. Time will tell if it has durability. Some internet searches told me LG has a good rep, so I am mildly optimistic about how long this unit will last and perform. I am, however, dinging a star because of the ThinkQ software link. It's not as useful as it should be. To call it "smart" is hype. It will give you a count down on the time remaining for a cycle. That is really nice, but that needs to be constantly monitored; It doesn't provide an automated alert when a cycle completes so you can focus on other things. In theory, the software allows for automation but there is nothing for me to automate here so that doesn't help me at all. Overall happy with this. It does the main functions very well. Just hoping they will update/fix/add functionality to their software.

Solid Machine - Hope It Lasts Like the Old Machine

After my 25 year old Kitchen Aid Washing Machine died of natural causes, it was time for a new machine. I picked the LG due to its high ratings on Consumer Reports and Wirecutter. Overall, the machine is solid. There are numerous cycles, wi fi connection (great for getting a message that the laundry is done), and huge capacity. Cons include wash cycle time and learning curve. The wash cycles are longer than on my previous washer. It takes some time to figure out which wash cycles work best (tip - Normal is not a great cycle - it's used primarily for Energy Star Compliance - use Speedwash with extra water option). Some wash cycles, like Sanitize, are nearly 3 hours long.

Love this washer. It’s very quiet and holds a tremendous amount clothes. Lots of options/cycles to choose from. My only complaint is it’s very deep for short people. I’ve solved this with a simple pair of long kitchen tongs.

Awesome washing machine! I purchased this because the machine that was in the house. I purchased worked so so poorly after the first wash in my new machine I could already tell how much cleaner my clothes had gotten. It has the capacity to do large loads and does a great job with small loads as well.

Have never had a washer without an agitator standing in the way. Washed a pair of sheets and queen size comforter together on bedding cycle. Washer did a great job. You don't get the comforter wrapped around the center agitator because it's not there. Increases capacity while still doing a great job cleaning. Exactly what I needed, and huge capacity.

We originally were getting another brand of washer, but switch to purchasing an LG brand because of the features available plus the industrial quality of the design (will work "forever") and elegant external appearance. The size of the washer was key with about 5.5 cubic feet, which is enough to successfully wash a king size comforter using the extra water setting. There are a lot of cycle options available and about 5 different water temperatures also. It is setup to automatically select a cycle for you if you wish, but I usually customize it myself. The top is clear glass so you can see the wash inside. It doesn't fill the basin completely with water, only using enough water to clean the clothes. So it saves water but still cleans the clothes very well. It has an excellent spin system also that allows you to spin it so it is almost dry, so you could just hang it on a hanger to air dry if you didn't want to use a dryer. Very happy with it. The other benefit was that the matching dryer had a cool door that opened sideways and could be switched to open top to bottom. So that dryer and this washer have been performing excellently with all sorts of clothing loads. One point to keep in mind ... if you are short the distance to the bottom of the washer is far, so you may have stretch to reach the clothes on the bottom.

The LG washer is the BEST! If you're shopping for a washer that really cleans your clothes. I promise this is the one. Some of the cycles are a little long but it's all worth it. The only problem I have is the deep tub, with me only being 5"2 I have to get on the very top of my tiptoes. But that can easily be fixed. My husband is going to build me a step so I can reach the bottom of the tub without falling in.

The Basin is very deep; if you are short not so great for small loads. There is no setting for manual adjustments; too technology focused. I like having option to pick degree of wash, water temp and etc. you can get there but have to play around with a few settings. Washes well and better than a front loading washing machine. Have washed Queen comforter but not King.

Great washer. The steam and turbo wash are awesome for some of the items I need to wash. I love the flexibility of the different cycles and the ability to slightly modify when necessary. A bit plus is the huge tub...which handles both large and small loads. The only downside is that the tub is so deep, it is hard to reach the bottom when standing next to the machine.
