Overall I am pleased with the quality and performance. It is huge, quiet, it offers many cycles including the soaking, it allows customization of the cycle by features like Water Plus (add more water for better performance) and Extra Rinse (to remove any detergent residue from the clothes). I also like that it tells exactly how long the cycle will take. The only washing issue I had was with dawn pillows, apparently they become so heavy that the washed struggles with the spin speed and stops, but still this is towards the end of the rinse phase, it washed them well.

Pros: Excellent wash; large enough for heavy Queen-sized comforters; fast wash.
Cons: Too tall/large for short useres.
I wanted a large washer so I could do less loads and this washer absolutely fills the role.
I used to feel like I HAD to do a second rinse or wash twice to get my clothes clean, but with this machine, once at "Normal" setting is quite good enough. I can't say enough how clean I feel the machine washes.
Also, I used to think that the front loading HE machines were taking way too long at about 90 minutes to 118 minutes per wash and this machine gets a larger load done within 80 minutes at max; that allows me to do more loads if necessary - not necessary. This is a must for people who have large families or just lots of laundry to get done.
Other reviews say you can fit a King comforter and full sheet set at once, but I believe it depends on the thickness/heaviness of the comforter. My heavy winter queen fits no problem and I can get the sheets in, but I rather wash the sheets separately.
Now for the con... I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and I need a step stool or a riser to get up into get the clothes at the bottom of the machine; I sometimes use a silicon coated pair of tongs. But since I wanted a large machine this con is just a small price to pay for the cleanness.

For a family of 5, this machines is a great size so you don't have to break big loads into smaller loads. Easily washes a king size comforter. Tons of cycles, steam and wifi connectivity makes it very versatile. I never though I would use the app and wifi, but it is convenient to get a push notification to my iPhone or Apple Watch when a load is ready.
Compared to my old Samsung 4.5 cubic ft. front load, I believe the clothes get just as clean, although this uses a bit more water. I think it makes up for it as I need to do fewer loads with the extra capacity.
Compared to the front load, balance and spins are just as fast and takes less time as front loaders take forever to balance out a big load. So I think this machine is efficient.
There are three downsides to me:
1. Because of its capacity, my wife cannot reach the bottom of the tub to retrieve small items, like socks. I bought a folding step stool from Homegoods for $10.00 to help her.
2. When you select a "Normal" load, the machine defaults to "Turbo Wash" which supposedly washes the clothes more quickly and gets the clothes very clean. I am not in a hurry and wants the clothes as clean as possible...so I always have to remember to turn this off. I wish the machine would remember your last used settings or at least let me turn it off.
3. It's louder compared to my old front load. It's livable, but is noticeable if you are coming from a front load.

So far we are loving our new washer. Loving even more that the clearance price we paid went even cheaper during our Geek Squad membership’s extended 60 day price match guarantee window. It saved us an additional $144 to pop into the Best Buy app periodically to see where the price was during their Holiday sale events. (More than worth the cost of membership in our opinion). We’re still getting used to it. Must say the app is handy: Let’s you know when it’s running, when the cycle is complete, and it monitors and notifies you of an unbalanced load or water intake issues. Its main Pro is also a Con. This top loader is so deep, even a 6ft tall man has to cozy up and fully extend his arm to actually reach the bottom to unload!! If you are a petite person be forewarned you may need a step stool nearby. We bought this model for the extra large capacity and water saving cycles. Now we’re using way less detergent and water. The savings will certainly add up. My suggestion is to watch YouTube videos about best practices to load smaller loads or bulky items as it WILL get unbalanced if you don’t pay attention when loading. The lack of an old fashioned center agitator makes loading bulky items way easier! Overall we’ve had no issues during this first month of using it for a family of four

Replaced my 24 year old Maytag (that was a great machine) with the new LG Washer. The LG took a minute to get familiar with, as it has a multitude of feature my old analog machine did not. I was hesitant to get new machines but so glad I did.
These new HE (high efficiency) machines are way different in how they wash clothes, so don't freak out when you see very little water in the drum. Still washes every bit as good as the old one with a small fraction of the water use.
My old machine had the largest capacity (super capacity) available at the time. This machine does close to 2.5X my old washer capacity.
it's quiet, works perfectly, super easy to install. No complaints at all. Should that change, I will change the rating.

So far, so good. It is quiet and the machine has worked very well. I have a large family and we use a lot of towels. Our bathroom does not have a window, so I am always concerned about the towels smelling sour. The towel’s smell really fresh every wash!

I actually like this washing machine. We specifically bought this washing machine as a Toploader because nobody makes front load washing machines with doors that open to the left. If you have a front load dryer that opens to the right, it’s inconvenient that both doors open to the right.
The washing functions of this washing machine are spot on. I have yet to have a load not wash very well. I really love the turbo spin dry. It almost evacuates all the water out of the clothes.
This washer is definitely different. You have to get use to the controls. Also if the oh no, do you have them and do you have the receipt? How many yeah where is the bag and it was on thewash is running and you lean over it, if you accidentally it ouch it, the wash cycle will immediately stop and restart all over from square one. It is a requirement to press and hold the “lock controls” button.
That being said, this is a really good high capacity high efficient washing machine.

The Good:
Bigger Tub Size, Water Management, Lots of config options. Generally faster.
The Bad:
Mobile software / link could be better.
The Details:
I hemmed and hawed over this purchase for a while. Glad I pulled the trigger. It replaces an old cheap hot point unit that came with my current residence. Would buy again.
I've been using for a few months now. No issues. Easy set up. The hardware seems like an excellent design . The bigger tub means I can do my regular laundry now in half the time. I love how it will economize on the water if I need a smaller spot load. I don't miss the central agitator and do not find any reduction in the cleaning power.
Time will tell if it has durability. Some internet searches told me LG has a good rep, so I am mildly optimistic about how long this unit will last and perform.
I am, however, dinging a star because of the ThinkQ software link. It's not as useful as it should be. To call it "smart" is hype. It will give you a count down on the time remaining for a cycle. That is really nice, but that needs to be constantly monitored; It doesn't provide an automated alert when a cycle completes so you can focus on other things. In theory, the software allows for automation but there is nothing for me to automate here so that doesn't help me at all.
Overall happy with this. It does the main functions very well. Just hoping they will update/fix/add functionality to their software.

Awesome washing machine! I purchased this because the machine that was in the house. I purchased worked so so poorly after the first wash in my new machine I could already tell how much cleaner my clothes had gotten. It has the capacity to do large loads and does a great job with small loads as well.

Waited a month to review to compare my experience to the good and bad reviews I had seen. After a few dozen loads of laundry I can now say that the negative reviews don't have anything in common with my experience. This washer handles very large loads (that's what she said!), and gets everything clean and spun in a much shorter time than our old front load. Extremely happy with this purchase, and the app is great!

I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like this machine. It handles large/bulky items with ease. My previous washer was also large capacity (Samsung), but became unbalanced frequently when washing sheets/blankets and was a source of irritation to me, not to mention the wasted time to rebalance the load constantly. That has NOT happened with this LG. I have been using it for a month and could not be more pleased with it. It was also substantially discounted when I had to replace my previous washer, so it was a total win.

After my 25 year old Kitchen Aid Washing Machine died of natural causes, it was time for a new machine. I picked the LG due to its high ratings on Consumer Reports and Wirecutter. Overall, the machine is solid. There are numerous cycles, wi fi connection (great for getting a message that the laundry is done), and huge capacity.
Cons include wash cycle time and learning curve. The wash cycles are longer than on my previous washer. It takes some time to figure out which wash cycles work best (tip - Normal is not a great cycle - it's used primarily for Energy Star Compliance - use Speedwash with extra water option). Some wash cycles, like Sanitize, are nearly 3 hours long.

Love this washer. It’s very quiet and holds a tremendous amount clothes. Lots of options/cycles to choose from. My only complaint is it’s very deep for short people. I’ve solved this with a simple pair of long kitchen tongs.

Have never had a washer without an agitator standing in the way. Washed a pair of sheets and queen size comforter together on bedding cycle. Washer did a great job. You don't get the comforter wrapped around the center agitator because it's not there. Increases capacity while still doing a great job cleaning. Exactly what I needed, and huge capacity.
