WORST WASHER I'VE OWNED IN 62 YEARS!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IFYOU CAN HELP IT DON'T EVER BUY A SMART WASHER! THIS LG is the WORST. Everything about the washer stinks, and I mean LITERALLY. I can't just pop open the lid in our non-child home, to add a garment. I have to literally hold a button, stand, wait, until the machine STOPS, WAIT again for it to UNLOCK, throw my ONE ITEM in, push a button for it to RESTART, WAIT AGAIN TO CONFIRM IT LOCKS and that the water starts back, AFTER WAITING until it re-centers itself! This machine started smelling moldy within the 1st two weeks. If you should only use TWO TABLESPOONS to run a wash, and only put in 4 or 5 small items at a time, A. The dispenser should only hold TWO TABLESPOONS AND B. There should be a line on the inside of the tub, showing maximum height of a load. In all of it's "smart sensing", if WE are the ones who are overloading, rather than this just being a CRAPPY machine, then a buzzer should go off that says we have more than the 12 OUNCES of clothes it seems it can get clean at a time . The LOW WATER SAVING is SUCH A SCAM FOR EVERY SINGLE THING GREEN. lol The site now tells me to run 3 empty loads in a row with COMMERCIAL CLEANER. If it doesn't smell better after 3 loads of WATER PLUS commercial cleaner, in an EMPTY machine, then I may have to call a professional. SOMEONE PLEASE tell me how my last washer, used more water and less toxic product (most concentrated product is usually more toxic), AND got my clothes CLEANER, than this pitiful excuse of a "washing" machine? If I put more than 5 items in, the "smart sensor" doesn't even get the top of the clothes dry. I have to go pour in water, on some of my smallest loads, because despite what they say about concentrated cleaner, how is concentrated cleaner helping anything when the item is bone dry when it comes out and the very superficial stains do NOT come out. EVER. N E V E R. I'd like a vote on how many people in the past had to hire a PROFESSIONAL to come clean their washing machine? Now.....just look at all the YOU TUBES ON OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM! I could go on and on. Remember the low flush toilets, that people have to flush TWICE or the water saving shower heads that people remove the flow protector from, just to rinse their heads. SMART? WATER SAVING? EFFICIENT? THIS LG IS NOT! Running EXTRA EMPTY LOADS to remove the smell, wastes my time, uses more WATER and MORE electricity! T Time Saving? THIS LG IS NOT! Water Saving? THIS LG IS NOT. ALL OF THIS "GREEN" IS COSTING US SO MUCH time, money and does NOTHING but put feed the corporate green machine, creating lots of jobs for "oversight" committees, to "oversee" us, because THEY are smart enough to save the world. We apparently aren't SMART enough to wash our clothes! APPARENTLY LG ISN'T EITHER!

Bought the 3 year protection, the clutch broke 1 month after warranty ended. Cost for parts is almost the price of a new one. When I purchased it I assumed it would last much longer than it did.

Washer won't start.

We are so disappointed with it and would never buy another LG product. The washer works great...if you can get it to start. They have sensors all over the place and now the one that locks the door doesn't work and you have to keep jiggling it in hopes you can get it to line up. We tried calling support. They just hung up on us. Strongly recommend buying a different brand even if it costs more - what good is a washer that won't start? And it is not because it is misaligned, it worked great for the first year.

Known Hardware Issue

We've had this machine since October and since then had issues with the machine randomly not wanting to turn on. On our first service call to LG, a technician came out and told us that this is a known issue and placed a sticker on the contacts for the power button. The issue continued and when LG was contacted again, they sent out a contracted company to look at our machine. When the technician couldn't duplicate the problem, we were told there is nothing they could do even though it is a known issue.

Bad Product

Had constant issues with the washer to the point that they had to give me a new one and I was stuck purchasing the warranty all over again for the new one. New is same model and type and I’m having the same issues as the old one. I will never buy an LG washer again.

Beware of rust!

Definitely would not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When we first ordered a new one, it came with a dent and cracks (definitely not new). We called right away to get it replaced with a new one since Best Buy assured we’ll be receiving one that isn’t refurbished. The replacement we received was okay on the outside but the water sensor had a problem from the get-go. The first time we used the new machine, it ran without any water the whole cycle. The second time, it ran normally so we thought maybe it was because it was the first use. In a course of 3 months, the machine running without water the whole cycle persisted rather frequently. We reported this problem to Best Buy because we should not be paying $1,000 dollars for a machine that maybe works half of the time. Upon calling Best Buy, we were advised that it wasn’t anything Best Buy can do and connected me directly to LG (the manufacturer) without explaining the situation to them. Best Buy said they can’t replace the machine because it had already been too long from the purchase date (3 months ago). These washing machines are meant to last a long time, especially when investing a thousand dollars, but it’s not the case. We need for Best Buy and/or LG to address our concern for this product, which they have yet to do. We would definitely not recommend this washer.

I have tried to push the button to add more water - It does not work. so I have to wash a load - turn it over when it stops and do another load. Ridiculous

LG Washing machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a top-of-the-line LG washing machine for our new home in Jan of 2020 but we did not move into our new home until Oct of 2020. I live only with my wife and we use the machine only one load per week. This is a second home for us so the use is rather minimal. We have NEVER filled it capacity. I have counted the weeks we have actually used the machine and it is less than 50 times. About 2 months ago we started to hear periodic squeaking sounds through out the cycle. The squeaks have become more consistent. We called a repairman to investigate. We were told it might be the “transmission” and it would cost at least $600.00 to repair; therefore, it would be better to trash the machine and just buy a new one! We purchased it for over $1000. and it was only good for 50 light cycles. This is not a “superior product” as promised. I called Best Buy and they say it is up to LG. I called LG and they said “too bad” because the warrantee has expired. I insist that this is NOT acceptable! Please contact me immediately to resolve this issue or I shall take steps to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else!

Broken upon delivery - twice!

The water pump went out on that one after several years which seemed too early, but the sales guy talked me back into LG again. 10 days after purchase, my new machine was finally delivered. While the first load was mixing, a horrible noise came from the unit. I called customer service and when they heard the noise over the phone they said they needed to replace the unit. So today, another week later, the replacement unit comes and exactly the same issue. As soon as it goes to agitate the load, a horrible ratcheting noise comes from the machine. I tried to contact LG through their chat, and it allows you to connect and type your concerns, but no one responds. I am afraid I have lost all confidence in the quality of this product.

Electrical issue with the main control board.

The dryer is a steam dryer and I've had no issues so far. The sales person told me that this model only comes in the impellor model and not the agitator model. I find out that it actially does but only after Best Buys warranty period so I was pretty much stuck with it. Then shortly after the 1 year LG warrany period expired, the control panel has been giving me issues where I have to unplug the machine and let it set with no power up to 20 minutes then most of the time once you plug it back in, it will work. A few times if I hold the power button like I'm turning it on as I'm unplugging it, it will then come on without it plugged in and then I immediately plug it in while its on unplugged and it will stay on. The weirdest thing I've ever experienced.

Washes well when it is not broken.

I have had to replace the control board twice, the clutch once, and the impeller twice. I have literally paid more than a new machine in parts. All in, I have paid over 2.5k for it. I would have been better off buying two other washing machines and then kicking myself.

Worst Most frustrating Washing Machine

It’s Ironic cause the washer says how it’s quiet. It’s the opposite. Do not buy this unless you want to be frustrated.

rust bucket

Bleach dispenser rusted out. LOL...LG says it's from using bleach and detergent.... Um, aren't washing machines supposed to be built to use Bleach and detergent, ie. the bleach dispenser??? Dismal quality and customer service

Still leaves residue on clothes after 3 years

wish I could give a zero

Had another 7800 washer installed 2 days later and the noise is back with the 2nd machine that we had installed. Google LG 7800 washer grinding noise. It's the same noise that I'm getting. I really want to like this washer but unfortunately I can't.
