Stuck pixels after 2 weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv initially looked amazing. Movies and video games had never looked better. Then after 2 weeks, I started noticing random single pixels were stuck showing bright green. I attempted to screen refresh and restart the tv but no luck. Its unacceptable to spend nearly 2,000 on a tv for it to start having pixels go bad after 2 weeks. I will return and consider another brand. LG let me down on this one.

Posted .Thank you for your review it is very important to us. It is great to hear that in the beginning your television was phenomenal, but it is disheartening to see that overtime this has changed. I can understand how frustrating it may be for the screen to have single bright green pixels and I would love to help out. Excellent product after 2 1/2 years researching,
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We all know that Oled TVs can perform excellent at any viewing angles, and as well you will have an excellent blacks levels and contrast, I use Apple TV, but I have to admit that the LG Application System is one of the best on the market, On my opinion this TV should priced at $1300.00. Don’t get me wrong this a outstanding TV this the best TV that I ever had in my life, the reason for this 1300.00 price is that if you already are paying 1900.00 just add yourself an extra 100.00 and get the Sony A8G because it has better motion handling. 2019 model. Being honest when I set up this tv I was not sure if I was likening.... My advice is out the box take your time calibrating the picture settings on this TV you will love the end results and if you are not sure How to do it just go to YouTube and you will find many experts recommendations or even paying a professional calibrator to get the most of your TV, you will be amazed about what this TV can do. This TV is doing a very very Good job upscaling on 1080P if you watch cable, so this TV it’s very versatile HDR and Dolby VISion are superb. Audio you can’t go wrong with Dolby Atmos my recommendation will be adding a Sonos sounbar to the the most of it. Or Bose is a sound bar is what you preferred. You can’t go wrong with this TV, If you are one of the people’s that are considering the Samsung Q80R don’t do it pay the difference and get an Oled, if not wait another year and get the Micro LED In addition you MUST add the BEST BUY extended warranty because OLED TVS can BURN IN. Geek Squad is the only warranty that’s covers BURN IN not LG warranty, NO square trade. Do yourself a favor an add the extended warranty. Replacing an Oled panel is about $900.00. So if you are getting an Oled BEST BUY is your answer.

love this tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it has google assistant so I can adjust lights in my home to check weather etc. along with watching the most crisp tv streaming shows available . , we have Hulu , Netflix and prime and that's less than 1 month of cable The tv has a a9 processor and quadrents of leds that make for perfect colors especially blacks WHICH NO OTHER TV CAN COME CLOSE NO NOT EVEN SAMSUNG !!! I have had the Samsung suhd q8 quantum dot tv and it was poor in comparasion but that's because I like movies I game on my smartphone . People worry way to much about burn in . It has a screen saver of sorts fireworks to keep the screen from bing still after 2 min. of being on pause and the kicker is the pixel refresher … Every month I run it it operates like a scanner it takes 1 hour and basically cleans the screen of any quality issue's The tv literally looks wet after the pixel refresher it is so clear Gamers or people that just watch shows that have fx or fox logos in the corner they have the most chance of burn in IF YOU WATCH IT 10 HOURS A DAY NON STOP lol but 6 to 8 hours a day streaming hulu , Netflix and prime and no burn in and I also have a c7 from last year

Most amazing TV I have ever owned...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV really is excellent... its incredibly bright, wide range of vivid colors and makes even my 1080p video look the best I've ever seen... I was a bit afraid to mount it on the wall because its so thin, but it went just fine. Also, I was surprised how well the remote works... I have a harmony remote I mainly use but find myself using the microphone on the remote and google assistant to find things on the TV's apps... It also has a very fast refresh rate for gamers! Great job LG... I highly recommend this TV!

Stunning and mysterious
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm following up on my previous review because the situation changed. It seems after a compensation cycle the clouding I had on the left of the screen is vastly improved. I wanted to post a new 5% grey photo. I think if you really look closely at both photos you can see the banding is essentially the same but the clouding or whatever is nearly gone, although it does still darken noticeably on the left side. I'm putting the photo from day 1 with the severe fade to black issue second so you can try to compare. These are s8 shots with a mostly blacked out room. The TV is stunning in most scenarios, as most OLEDs seem to be. It seems to really struggle with old SD content and with animated motion on dark backgrounds like star fields. Mostly it's jaw dropping with 4k HDR content, but that should kind of go without saying.

Absolutely Gorgeous!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.** Setup ** Setting up the TV was extremely quick and simple. While I was able to put everything together myself, I would recommend having someone help you (the TV isn't that heavy, but its size makes it awkward). The included remote is similar to a motion controller (think Nintendo Wii controller), so you can quickly navigate through menus. Some of the included apps that I frequently use are: Netflix, Hulu, and Google Play Movies (updating and logging into each app was very quick), so there's very little need for a streaming stick/device. The built-in WiFi is very fast and is capable of connecting to 5GHz networks. ** 4K Content ** Our 4K movies looks incredible on the new LG TV. Since our internet is fast enough to support it, even 4K content from Netflix and Google Play Movies looks just as amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend going to your local Best Buy to see the TV in person (they usually have a nice demo running so you can see how well the colors look). ** Non-4K Content ** Even viewing non-4K content through our cable box, HD channels still look great. Animated movies (such as Coco or Finding Dory) look fantastic. Even games on my PS4 (I haven't traded in my old PS4 for a PS4 Pro yet) look really good. ** Supported Apps ** Some of the popular apps that I'm sure many people will use are available on the TV right out of the box (or available from the LG app store): Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, Starz, Showtime, Google Play Movies, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube (and YouTube Kids), Vudu, and MLB.TV. There is also a built-in web browser, but it's a little slow to load content, so I would just stick to your phone/tablet/laptop. ** Speakers ** I'm really impressed with the quality of the built-in speakers, they can get pretty loud and still sound pretty clear. I still prefer to use my sound bar and subwoofer, but if you don't currently have a theater system or sound bar, the built-in speakers will do a decent job until (or if) you buy a new theater system. ** BOTTOM LINE ** When compared to the other manufacturers, I prefer LG displays, and the new C8PUA Series are outstanding and seriously worth looking at in your local Best Buy.

Does everything well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No TV is perfect, but the C8 is one that does pretty much everything well. I tried the Sony X900F, which is a solid TV, but I couldn’t deal with the clunky Android OS and the blooming. After the Sony, I went to the Samsung Q8FN, which I really liked, but it still lacked things I wanted, like Dolby Vision. I also wasn’t a fan of the DSE on the panel. The LG C8 has all the great features those TVs offered and then some. This TV makes everything look great! Movies look fantastic on this TV and of course the black levels are unmatched. Games like AC: Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4 look absolutely stunning. WebOS is fast and intuitive, colors pop (very close to QLED), and Google Assistant is a nice added touch. I was worried about it’s upscaling, but it’s actually really good, even 720p content after a few adjustments. Motion isn’t on par with Sony, but I wouldn’t say it’s noticeably bad or anything. Don’t worry about lack of brightness because it gets bright enough, even in a really bright room like mine. This is just a really solid TV. Glad I bought it and I’m not going back to the Sony or the Samsung. This is the TV for me.

Satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replacing a Samsung 40" from 10 years ago. I originally bought the Sony 55" 900X which looked cloudy to me and exchanged for this beautiful 55" C8. Taking it out of the box its FRAGILE. Its not extremely heavy buy you should definitely get a hand to help you and lift from the bottom not anywhere near the top glass. Very easy to assemble the table stand, 3 pieces and just a screwdriver will do. The remote is very impressive. I really gotta thank LG for including the adapter for the 3 prong adapter for the tv in the box. I have Direct TV and ordered the upgraded box but I wont have it for a week so the adapter included was a save for me allowing me to enjoy watching right away. The picture is absolutely beautiful, clear, and looks very impressive. Sound isnt bad but not very loud and does point downward towards front mount. Sounds pretty good. I set up with my wifi and did the 3 updates. Id would like to have known what they were for out of curiosity. Set setting to more my liking and watched an action movie and it looked awesome! I haven't ran any pixel tests but Im extremely happy with this TV and hope to have it for as long as my previous 10 years. I alway buy the most possible extended warranty as it has saved me before on a previous model. Two photos of panels for hook ups :)

A most exceptional viewing experience.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a showroom model that was sold as an open box TV. It had screen burn-in that I could see when a solid red color was put on the panel's screen. This was under manufacturers warranty since I purchased it from the store. Viewing TV and blue ray were very good but I could occasionally see the burn-in. It took a few weeks for LG to replace the panel, and did that make a noticeable difference. The color, resolution, sharpness, and details just pop out for an exceptional viewing experience. I was lucky to be in the store at the right time for this purchase and to have the LG warranty to replace the panel. This also saved me about sixty percent of the cost of a new model. I am still learning the remote but I highly recommend the LG OLED TV.

Best Television I've ever own
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will admit that I thought I was making a HUGE mistake in purchasing this EXPENSIVE TV in which I really didn't need because I own a perfectly good working Samsung 55" LED HD 4K SMART TV that's not even an year old yet, but when I went to Best Buy just to pick up a few smart light bulbs, I walked through the TV area just to see if that same Samsung tv that I bought from them was still being displayed. It was! I was saying to myself I made a good choice buying it last year although the price fell a bit now. But my eyes caught the LG 55" OLED C8 Series..oh man! I couldn't believe my eyes! The color, the depth, the sharpness how real the picture looked...I had to take a closer look! How thin the screen was on this set was mind blowing! I knew that I had to have it, but the price snapped me back to reality.. almost $2k!!!! I said to myself, " there's no way that I'm getting that TV this year, not unless they dropped the price over a Black Friday event. Even then, I would probably walk away. But the friendly sales associate came over to me as I was just about to leave and asked me what I didn't like about their best selling TV in the store and I honestly told her that I loved everything about it except for the price. Besides, I already had a perfectly good working Samsung LED HD TV at home that I just bought from them almost a year ago. She smiled and said "what if she could help me make it possible to where I could take their top of the line tv home today without paying a cent out of my pocket?" I looked at her and asked " Really? How? To make a long story short, with an excellent credit score and getting approved in their Best Buy super credit card program and the 0 interest for the first 2 years, I was out the door with this new awesome LG tv heading home thinking what was I going to do with my Samsung..I already have a TV in every bedroom of my home... but I'm loving this LG OLED with sports, movies and tv shows and have no regrets in my decision with this purchase. Folks, it's really worth the money if you're looking for a really good TV to watch in your home.

Incredible TV set
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this 55" OLED TV to replace an old 40" Sony XBR LCD TV. I did not really think that the change from 1080p to 4K would be so noticeable, but I was really floored by the picture quality and the absolute black rendered. The remote has some really nice features, allowing you to use it as a pointer to make entries, select shows, switch sources and make adjustments. Having a built in wi-fi device makes it much easier to access Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming content.

LOVE TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love, I mean LOVE this TV. The interface is intuative. The colors are amazing and the blacks ARE black. I love watching cartoons and movies that take place at night because of how amazing it looks. The TV is very sleek, the thinnest glass screen. The remote has amazing distance and pairs to my other devices. Tablets and phone cast easy. Only concern: the owener manual isn't an owner manual. It comes with a small manual that says how to set up TV. To get the true owners manual, you must download it online.

huge upgrade from the b6
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is fantastic, especially compared to it's 2 year old brother the b6p. I know it is also a model up but I have also had the c6p which I returned because of the input lag vs the b6. Everything is fast and responsive on this tv which was a huge issue I had with the b6. The menu would lag from day 1. Don't even get me started on the picture. My main gripe with the b6 was how dark the picture was and how it suffered in regards to contrast. This c8 isn't perfect but it's legues ahead and everything I watched on tbe b6 is just an absolute joy to rewatch on the c8. That all being said...the motion could be a little better. The Sony a8 and a9 are fantastic in that aspect but when it comes to gaming...they fall completely short. Putting the extra $1000 you spend for the sony, their input lag time is over double that of an LG oled...no thanks.

Best TV Ever
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV about four months ago. I wanted to live with it for awhile before writing a review. Bottom line is we have been very pleased with our purchase. OLED TVs are not cheap but they are on another level over LCD / LED TVs. The blacks are true black which creates exceptional contrast and amazing images. I am still wowed every time I watch this TV. 4K sources look incredible but even 1080p is upscaled and looks great. The magic remote is easy to use and LG has one of the best user interfaces out there. If you can afford it OLED is definitely the way to go.

Quality is super amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This OLED TV is just simply amazing! There are no light streaks on the sides or corners of the TV. It is pure black. It looks great in the dark and great in the day time. You can adjust the settings if you wish to adjust the daylight or night time. But, when I say amazing, I mean it. The black bars on top, for when there are movies that have the aspect ratio, the blacks are black with no light leakage on the sides. A regular LED has that problem. The colors are amazing since the OLED works with pixels. And don't be afraid of the burn in, TVs today come with pixel shifting.

Outstanding picture quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading tons of reviews, watching videos online, talking to friends and bugging my friendly BestBuy associates, I finally settled on the LG OLED. I had my decision narrowed to the Sony 900F, Sony OLED and the LG OLED. While the Sony 900F does an amazing job, the true blacks and amazing contrast of the OLED panel had me sold. I'm a Sony fan, and found the Sony OLED a bit more aesthetically pleasing, and I do love the X1 extreme chip. However, since the panel is actually made by LG, the price difference was a bit more difficult to justify. That said, I've been extremely pleased so far with the LG C8. Picture quality is excellent, as you'd expect. Even in my living room, which receives a good amount of sunlight, the TV is quite adequately bright. While, in my opinion, the Sony X1 Extreme does a slightly better job with motion and color rendering, the new LG alpha 9 does quite a good job overall. WebOS is relatively easy to use. An array of streaming apps are available, though I don't use them - since I have an Apple TV 4K, Roku, and 4K BluRay player. Unexpected was the sound quality - quite impressive for a TV this thin. While I have a higher end home audio set up, I find that in the evenings especially, I'll just use the TV speakers. If you can catch it on sale, as I did, I would highly recommend the LG OLED. Happy Viewing!!!

My one true love
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so protective of this TV-haha! I love this thing. BEAUTIFUL AND VIVID picture. Especially when you tweak all the picture settings and even better when the HDMI ultra HD deep color mode is on. (picture>additional settings>toggle on) But you have to do it while you're on each separate mode. For instance watching a disc, you have to go in manually again and toggle HDMI 2 on. Roku-HDMI 1 on. You get the point. The only con with this TV is the burn in risk but we are very careful. We do not play games with stagnant images/aren't big sports or news watchers. It's the perfect TV for us. I compared QLED and OLED technology and personally OLED blew it out of the water for me. Game of Thrones final season was absolutely gorgeous. It handles darks super well. I can see so much more in dark scenes but with my curtains drawn and at night of course. We went with the C8 because of the better processor. Bought it January of 2019 and I still love it as much as when we first got it. LG just makes fantastic TV's. In particular, their OLED's. We looked at Sony as well, but I believe they are just unnecessarily overpriced. Hoping this baby has a long life.
