Not enough words.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are not enough words for this beauty of a TV. The picture is insane. The rich blacks, contrast, whites, and lighting are superb. The A9 processor is superior to all others on the market. The sleek slim design is like having a Bugatti hanging on my wall. There is no other OLED in the price range that can compare to this one.

LG C8
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy my Panasonic plasma zt60 in the living room. My wife and I were looking to purchase a tv for the bedroom with that type of picture quality. This LG c8 is a great tv. I was not looking into using the smart features of the lg c8, as I had plan on purchasing a smart device to connect to the tv. But when I started using the webos, there was no need to purchase anything else. The UI is very fast and has everything that we need (YouTube tv, you tube, Amazon prime). We use the remote more than we thought we would. I wish the remote was backlit. As of right now, there is no need for us to purchase a universal remote. The tv also works well with google chrome cast. I am thoroughly enjoying the LG c8 55 inch model.

Best TV Ever
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding picture quality right out of the box. Had this TV for over 2 years now. Still working great. No problems and no burn-in problems either. But I don't use this TV for gaming. Plenty of brightness for me. Only window in the room is behind the TV. So no sunlight shines directly onto TV but room is bright. Even with all lights in the room off,, can still read all of the buttons on the remote from light of TV. Easily mounts to a TV stand. Easy to setup and get going. The 4K resolution is the best ever. Cheaper 4K TVs look grainy or have gaps. This TV is smooth and complete.

Excellent excellent excellent tv!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don’t write reviews but maybe my review can help someone just like someone review helped me. Straight and to the point this tv is excellent. It shows perfect black levels. The black levels are so perfect it makes the rest of the colors pop esoically in dark scenes. This tv is bright not as bright as the QLED. I rather have a total balance tv then just a super bright tv. Don’t get me wrong the QLED is a great tv, I just think the lg c8 is better. The Dolby vision and high dynamic range is absolutely amazing. If you have a 4K DVD player with 4K movies or streaming some sort of 4K hdr content you will not truly see how amazing this tv is. The Dolby Atmos on this tv is surprisingly really good coming from just the tv. Of course if you want to really go all out I would consider a sound bar or if you really really wanted to go all out a 7.1 4K reciever. If you don’t need all that then the Dolby Atmos on the tv will work best for you. With gaming I found absolutely no lagging and game picture is insanely great. Have I people think the football was really on until I told them it was madden. Rather you have a ps4 or xbox one. These things are a beast on this tv. I hope this review helps at least one person. Just like all the other review helped me. Go get this tv don’t think about and you want regret it I promise

Stunning picture!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a beautiful TV this is. I researched for months on which TV was right for me, the QLED or the OLED. I've only purchased Samsung TVs for the last 40years, it was difficult for me to switch brands, but the LG won out. I've had this TV for a few months now and it continues to dazzle my senses every day.

Uniformity issues.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 2017 LG B7 OLED and was wanting to replace it with this 2018 C8 OLED due to poor motion handling and minor vertical banding on the B7. The motion on the new model is definitely improved. I still found I needed to use TruMotion dejudder 3 but the alpha 9 chip in the 2018 C8 is noticeably smoother with this than the same setting on the B7. This is mainly why I'm giving the unit I got a 2 star rating instead of just a 1. It improves on something that could not be helped with the settings in the 2017 B7. And I'll save the worst for last, unless you can guess from the title and the picture I uploaded. Another real + on this year's model OLEDs (using the alpha 9 processor... the B8 will use last years processor) from LG is the HDR and Dolby Vision color handling out of the box. The one I'm playing with is much more natural and pleasing in this respect. The 2017 OLEDS need a lot of adjustment in HDR and Dolby VISION settings to make content (skin tones, bright colors) look accurate rather than super saturated. Vibrant doesn't necessarily mean "good". The 2018 C8 looks good on this type of content with very minor tweaking needed. I.e. take it off "standard" mode and into "cinema" and not much else really required. So on to the reason for the bad rating. As the caption on the photo states, the black monster crawling across the left side of the TV is not a shadow, all the lights in the room were off. It's a "clouding" defect at 5% gray. The screen is supposed to be solid dark gray. This anomaly was obvious on virtually any content with dark colors on that side of the screen, and especially solid colors like the dark gray background on the amazon prime app setup page... so I knew it was there within 10 minutes of setting up the unit. That is a very severe defect. It also has vertical banding showing a dark line on the right and, oddly, a horizontal banding line top left extending almost halfway towards the middle of the screen, which my camera could not capture. The corner of the 2017 B7 is just to the upper right of the C8 in the photo, and you could see the "5%" tag/label in the bottom left of the screen. On the C8 you could not see the 5% label because the screen fades to almost absolute black on the left side. On a white screen, this was not noticeable. I have never seen a display of any type with this kind of severe gray uniformity issues. And to see it on a TV that LG is suggesting retailers charge nearly 3,000$ US for, is disappointing. They will of course not all have this clouding issue, though most will have minor to moderate vertical banding which may or may not be visible in normal content. The commitment to product quality is not there from LG with these panels. You can be sure that Sony and Panasonic are contracted for batches of OLED panels from LG Display with much lower error % in panel uniformity tests from unit samples. In this way they don't have to test every panel before building a unit with it, but can get a good idea of how good a large shipment of them will be. LG Electronics however, seems to be taking whatever is left. Check a 5% OLED banding test off YouTube app out of the box. If the banding is minor and there's no clouding, you're lucky and you will never really be able to see any issues in normal content. You will have the best possible cinema and gaming large screen display currently available at retail. If you have a cloud like in the photo I submitted, it should be a total deal breaker. Nothing is ever going to look like it's supposed to on that portion of the screen.

LG OLED 55C8PUA
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the tv for four week and I'm very happy with it . It seems so differnt watching it,It is so clear it is like you are there in person. My old TV that I replaced was a top of the line Panasonic plasma,The picture on this TV is a much better picture. I can’t comment about audio because I hooked it up to a home theater. The remote control is very easy to use, it has a cursor type feature that makes navigation trough the screen a breeze. I personally love it. This LG offers 4K OLED content looks stunning, colors are vibrant and menus are well thought out (thank goodness, LG keeps making its WebOS even better than Android OS). Thank you for your devotion to quality, keep on innovating. One thing I would recommend to anyone is, the unpacking is a two person job, Best Buy offers a great video on how to do it, I also watched some YouTube videos. I have research over 8 months for a great Tv Oled. This TV worth every penny.

Q: QuestionIs this TV picture still worth the extra $$$$ if you don't have the 4K with your cable company? If you don't use the 4K is this picture still great or is it just like a regular flat screen TV and not worth the extra or the very extra large amount of money
Asked by Geneo.
- A:Answer The LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55C8PUA has a native resolution of 3840 x 21`60 and all TVs regardless of their native resolution will always play video content at their native resolution or as close to it as they can get the signal to. TV and cable broadcasts are either at 720p or 1080i and when presented with these lower resolutions, the built-in 4K Upscaler in the TV will upconvert those signals to its native resolution or as close as it can get the signal depending on how much data is in the signal. This can add perceived detail of the image but how far you are sitting from the screen will make a difference to whether or not you see the detail...^IFV
