Not happy at all.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They replaced the tv because the 3-D feature did not work right. Now the second tv is doing no better and also has issues with the voice being out of sink. Now the new part is on back order and can't get until first part of February. This has been going on since December 15th. I am ready to go back to a brand I can trust.

Great TV, super awesome 3D for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Pros: Great picture, IPS display is awesome, and true 1080p 3D look great. The Cons: Washed out black levels. This TV is a great buy. I bought it when it was on sale for $2599.99. The picture quality is great. It does really well with the high refresh rate which is good on the the 3D factor, along with the fact you get true 1080p on 3D. The interface was odd at first, but I adjusted really easily to the motion controller, and if you do not wish to use it as such you don't have to, just use the directional buttons on the remote. This TV does have a really good contrast ratio for a LED with the use of coarse with active back lighting. It does however fall short with true blacks, it tend to wash them out. So the dark parts on scenes, especially video games are hard to adjust for. The whites also look blue, this is fixed however by changing to a warm color scheme in the setting. Your whites will not be white but more of a beige, but it looks more natural. This is not a problem with the TV, but the technology. It is very hard to reproduce whites on LED TVs since they are not phosphorous. This TV however does really well with reds. They didn't bleed across the screen Which is what I usually see with LED TVs. Now, the 4K itself. I have seen and viewed many 4K TVs, and they are all the same as I have seen. A video file with very low compression looks great slow motion or still photos. But real action tends to look only a little bit better than 1080p. This is because unlike plasma and OLED, the refresh rate is processed on the CPU to give you a better picture. Don't get me wrong it looks really good, but can be a lot better, and again this is a technical limitation on LED TVs for the time being, unless you go into the higher range TVs. Over all this TV does 4K well and upconverts superbly. The 4K netflix content is limited, but you do also get 3D content on netflix once you upgrade. 4Ks will look a whole lot better when the OLED technology is applied to these TVs, but as for as the one is concerned get it. It is really a awesome tv.

Best 4k TV on the market!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best 4k tv out around this price range. It's web os was redesigned for 2014. Switching between tv and different inputs and using you tube, Netflix ect is so easy. So after about a week of calibration from doing research and using a calabration disk this in my opinion is the best setting. Best 4K TV for the $2,500 Price Point!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did tons and tons of research comparing the Sony XBR65X850B, Samsung HU65UN8550, and this LG 65UB9500. I eventually decided on this set based off what I saw in store and its better specs on paper. First off, in person, I felt like the LG showcased superior image quality and clarity compared to its Sony and Samsung counterparts (just my personal observation/opinion). The Samsung appeared to have more vibrant colors, but I decided this could easily be fixed during calibration. Upon doing more research, I learned that this TV can utilize a 10-bit color space, or Rec. 2020, which allows for over 1,000,000,000 colors, or 60x that of its competitors which only use an 8-bit. I should also add that this TV has LG's top of the line upscaler, which is very important considering the lack of 4K content at this point in time. The clearer image, IPS panel, 240hz refresh rate (120hz native), wider color range, top-tier image scaler, and WebOS all played a part in me choosing LG. The difference in picture quality is night and day coming from a 1080p, 55 inch LED Samsung. The colors pop off the screen, giving the crisp image a lifelike depth even when not in 3D mode (which is also amazing). Sports and games are buttery smooth, and the WebOS is colorful, simple, and intuitive. For those of you wondering, this TV does come with HDMI 2.0, HEVC, and HDCP 2.2. In conclusion, if I had to choose one of the three previously mentioned TVs again, I'd without a doubt stick with the LG. I highly recommend this set, and at the moment, I believe LG is miles ahead of its competitors. However, with all of this being said, it is just my two cents! You should still check out the TVs in store, as all manufacturers have a distinct "look" that really comes down to personal preference.

Whoa!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am pretty picky. Ok my friends would say I VERY picky. and I looked and looked and looked, but for the money... This is just an amazing TV and yes I looked t the Samsung and while I have a 55" Samsung normal Full HD and has an amazing screen this is BETTER! Go ahead ahead and compare. LG versus Samsung Versus Sony. Yes there are others but really these 3 standout and then when you look at the advantages of LG it becomes as clear as 4K ;-# 1. VIEWING ANGLE - has an IPS panel and that really does make your screen stunning from more than just sitting directly n front of it # I work for a large PC/Monitor manufactuer and our IPS panels are much better viewing angles than non IPS 2. SOUND - All these skinny TV's normally have pretty subpar sound #ok Terrible# but this TV has much better sound with its slim soundbar and port in the back. 3. WEB BROWSING/NETFLIX/ ETC... The web experience is actually fast and works very well, though I am not sure how much I will use it but it is really nice or now to show off 4K You Tube Content ;-# 4. REMOTE - Very slick and intuitive. It does take a short time to get used to it but after that it's just like a WII remote 5. PICTURE - Wow! wow! and WOW! I am such a Samsung faithful but I compared these side by side with a bunch of different content. Normally I would say the Samsung is Brighter and more Vivid #Even though I understand not everybody actually likes that when they are viewing from home. I believe the Blacks are better on the screen, obviously the viewing angles are better and I actually think this screen is as bright as a Samsung I never thought I would say that AESTHETICS - ok so this is purely subjective but the stand, and maybe you will mount it and it won't make a difference but the stand is really clean, the sound bar has very clean lines. I will say the Samsung is even thinner than this. MISC - 3D who really cares except for maybe my son and his friends but cool I guess Bottom Line - I picked this up on Black Friday for 1999 #Sorry BB# and for the picture #MOST IMPORTANT#, dollars spent, features looks and sound, I think this is the clear winner. Don't believe me compare for yourself and while Samsung is outselling this model note the rating is higher for this model than the Samsung!! Hope this helps

excellent in every way
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.upgraded my LG 65" HD TV to this 4K 3D model and love it! The blacks are richer, the sound more awesome and the apps a breeze to use! I haven't had it re-calibrated yet and not even sure if it needs it but most likely will in the spring with the geek Squad of course as they have been awesome every step of the way!! Note: the 3D movies are the best with every detail and the 4K streaming with the Netflix app is amazing. (make sure to get the 4k steam package from Netflix to enjoy top performance and make sure your internet speed is at least at 30)

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this TV home, and what a wonderful picture! The clarity and colors are amazing on this, it replaced a high end Samsung 55 LCD and there is no comparison... Using Netflix for some 4K and 3D content it pretty amazing... But even with standard TV watching it's an excellent picture... Not loving the remote, but I am getting used to it... Much easier to enter email addresses and passwords... WebOS is much better than previous smart app displays...

Fantastic TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is by far the best purchase we've ever made. Fantastic upscalling, which gets the TV to 4k like quality. The WebOS system is also very good and quick into and out of different applications within the TV. The price is a little steep, but considering the price when these TVs first came out, I can't complain. With that said, the quality and picture make this TV worth every penny. I can't say enough great things about this 4k TV.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the 65" on sale and I am so glad I did. The 3D and Dual Play are great. While there is not much 4K programming available yet, what is available is stunning. I highly recommend this set for the money.

Great Picture Quality, Easy Navigation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This picture quality on this TV is outstanding even without access to 4K content. It makes everything have a sharper picture. The navigation is also much easier than my Samsung TV, Plus, I love the magic remote.

Possible incompatibility issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After extensive research and narrowing field to Lg, Samsung and Sony, I chose Lg for a number of outstanding functionality advantages over competitors. Unfortunately, after setting up, The picture was awesome with streaming media but terrible with broadcasting, i.e. ghosting and blue lines around characters. I contacted my cable provider, Fios, who did all the necessary tests to assure me that the lines were fine. Thinking that I received a lemon, I contacted Bestbuy and they arranged to send me another set which displayed the same awful broadcast picture. What are the chances two sets from the same manufacturer are defective? Back to Bestbuy, and feeling like I would be considered a kook ( fortunately I took pictures of the Lg's images ) they agreed to send me another if I bring in my set for them to test. After lugging my set in, they hooked it up to their direct tv line and saw what I had described. I certainly would not take another chance at an Lg so this time I chose Samsung. It was delivered two days later, set it up, and without any tweaking of settings, a beautiful picture with broadcasting as well as streaming - the way it should be. I have not seen any reviews that described the same problem I had, but now that all is resolved, I am very thankful that I purchased from Bestbuy.
