Picture is bright and colorful - take a little time to get use to all the things that a SMART TV has.

    Nice 4k but...

The 4K resolution is nice but this model does not come with HDR or Dolby Vision for enhanced color and that piece is really what makes these 4K tvs stand out versus regular HD. In other words, it's already outdated. In addition, mine had problems with ghosting images during 3D playback. I had an older LG that did not have this problem. It's possible it was just this particular unit and not the whole model. At any rate, I sold this tv and then bought a 65UH8500 instead. This one has both HDR and Dolby Vision (and both look fantastic) and the 3D has no issues and looks great too. I would not recommend buying the 65UF8500 unless it was on deep discount and you don't care much about the frills and just want a basic 4K tv.

Had previously had a Samsung 65 curved 4k but wasnt so thrilled with it as the picture for Direct TV wasnt as good as expected so I returned it. Saw this model on the BB display floor and really liked the clarity. The picture on blurays and 3d bluray is amazing and satellite tv looks about as good as can be expected till 4k broadcasts arrive. Im using audioquest cables and couldnt be more pleased with this tv. Tried some 4k content from youtube and was impressed. Also very easy to configure and the magic remote is intuitive. Even the free soundbar isnt bad for general use though I use a marantz/polk setup for movies. I definitely like this LG so far.

Great TV at a Great Price

I'm the sort of person who does probably too much research before buying something. It took me about 6 months before I decided which 4K tv to get, and this was the one. Overall it's a fantastic TV. Great colors, and the 4K content that's out there looks stunning, however limited. As of right now, you're not going to find much in 4K unless you have a stellar internet connection. It will, however, upscale your current HD programming to higher resolution at better frame rates, and that looks really good. Next year 4K blu ray players are supposed to be available, so fingers crossed they'll look just as good as some of the 4K stuff available on netflix. The 3D capabilities are fantastic, and you can make 2D movies 3D and 3D movies 2D, which is nice since you won't have to worry about which bluray you want to buy. My only problem with this TV: The black levels. My last two TVs have been Plasma screens which are known to have some of the best contrast ratios with the deepest blacks. If you're used to LED TVs it's probably something you won't notice, and you typically don't see it unless you're playing something that doesn't have a 9:16 aspect ratio, but in dark scenes or on the bars around your videos you'll notice how the local dimming works because of the bleeding light, especially in the top left corner (at least on mine). If this is something that will really bother you, consider spending the extra money on an OLED. Overall, though, it's a fantastic TV and I look forward to getting my hands on some 4K BluRays next yet.

Always a Sony fan, tough to switch my allegiance on such a big purchase. No buyers remorse here, LG has a great product with prices that are pretty good. Went into Best Buy Black Friday deals on the LG 65uf6450 but decided to spend the extra money for this 8500 model. Like the faster refresh rate and the 3d picture. No issues with light bleed or motion blur that some talk about. Do your homework maybe you'll save some money, because LG seems to be in the same ballpark with Sony and Samsung. Happy shopping and thanks Best Buy Salem New Hampshire for great service.

    LG 65uf8500 4k 3d T.V. review

I have had this T.V. for 1.5 months and LOVE it. I know the shortcomings people have posted in other reviews but I don't see what the big deal is. If you enjoy your Buy then go with it. I have no regrets or complaints at all. I love the magic wand and the WEB OS 2.0 is quick and responsive, if this T.V did not come out the day I saw in BBuy I would have purchased last years 65UB9500 but glad I got this one. I have to pickup a 4k upscaling 3D blu ray player next to check out the 3D blu ray movies I have picked up. Love my LG

This 4k by LG surpasses my expectations. Took a Sony XBR65X850B back for this one and well worth the hassle. You will not be disappointed in the TV. Great picture, color, 3d, and sound!

I wanted to take advantage of my college aged son's strong back while he was home getting some rest and home cooking, so I went to my local best buy and snapped up this LG 4K wonder as soon as I saw it! It was on sale and came with a $250 soundbar and subwoofer as well. Brought it home and took down our 7 year old Samsung plasma ( heavy piece of tech). The new TV is the same overall width and height but it is ALL viewable screen, the frame is so thin it is barely noticeable. We set it up in just a few minutes and the picture is simply GORGEOUS!!!!!! We watched the Red Sox spank the Phillies in breathtaking detail and color straight from Ft Meyers, we are all looking forward to a fantastic season watching on this amazing TV. Oh, the sound bar and woofer are fantastic, the sound of the TV is just fine but watching movies with the sound effects if better than going to the theater. Don't hesitate getting this TV, glad I didn't

Bought this a little while back and still have it. Love the 3D and picture is good. Also it was when smart TV'S were new so it was not as fast as the newer ones today but still works great.

We purchased this LG 65UF8500 65" 4K ULTRA HD TV with a klipsch sound bar and Harmony 650 remote. We had the Geek Squad mount the TV to the wall. I had to run back to Best Buy to purchase the mount to attach the sound bar to the TV because we had been told we didn't need one from the sales person but you do need a mount if you are attaching the TV to the wall. They also programmed the remote (which I love). I can switch between smart TV (internet access) to regular program watching with this one remote. They programmed the sound bar, DVD player & our direcTV receiver to this remote. I pulled a youtube video of my grandson playing guitar & both the picture and sound were very good. We haven't watched anything on 3D so no comment about 3D.

    Best upscale Technology

LG silently is becoming the best brand 4K TV. The most important thing about a 4K TV is not how it looks in the store BUT how is it going to look with your cable box connected at home. LG is the only brand that processes the 1080i signal from your cable or antenna 6 times as apposed to other brands including sony and Samsung the only have a 4 step upscale system....I LOVE MY LG!!!
