PERFECT TV - GOOD INVESTMENT IN MY RELAX TIME!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not writing this due to some promotional incentive...I bought it...I own it...I love it. Yup - had my doubts about spending this kind of money, but I really do feel it was money well-spent given the amount of movie-watching and regular television viewing I do. Picture is beyond belief. It looked great in the store, but this 2016 model leaves nothing out and always gets a "wow" out of me at least once after turning it on for my evening's viewing pleasure. If you are able to afford this, one way or another, then do not hesitate. Also, my local Geek Squad fellas did a wonderful job in setting it up and check it out thoroughly before leaving with the box. The sound is not bad at all, but I have it hooked up to my Onkyo and a set of Bose direct/reflecting speakers - a wonderful combination. I'll let others go into more detail about this feature or that feature, so for now, I think it's time to go lose myself in a bit of PPB - - perfect picture bliss! Roger

Unbelievably fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best tv available today. Don't really think they are going to be able to make a tv any better than this, ever. It's expensive but it really is worth the price. The picture really does look like 3d sometimes(without it being in 3d). It takes a little to get the picture exactly right but with all the settings it's not that hard. The 3d is fantastic. Ended up going to the library and getting a bunch of 3d movies to rewatch, fantastic. Avatar and Mad Max were outstanding. I have a Sony 4k from a couple of years ago, and it's an excellent tv, and I have a hard time watching it because the OLED makes it look washed out. Any tv I've ever bought I've had some things I wasn't satisfied about, not this tv. No regrets whatsoever. It's a great buy for whatever price you get it for, you won't be disappointed.

Good tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all the new price of 4299 is the msrp and not sale price. However the tv is beautiful and has the best SDR picture out of all TVs. HDR can be better though. The Sony z9 is better at HDR . The Lg E6 has a better operating system and better remote.

Best tv on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded from the LG 65EF9500 OLED to the LG 65E6P OLED. The 9500 is a great tv, but the E6P takes OLED to a whole new level. Everyone knows about the inky blacks and brilliant color of OLED, but many do not know about some of the past issues with near blacks on the 9500. 90% of the time, the 9500 performed flawlessly, but when it failed it occurred with near black scenes. That''s when you would see banding in the the near blacks, which was distracting. The other issue was vignetting. I am happy to say that LG completely fixed those issues with the 65E6P. OLED in my opinion has now been perfected and nothing can come close to rivaling OLED. Plus, you now have a tv that is capable of handling both HDR10, and Dolby Vision HDR metadata. This tv is a winner!

No comparison in picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a couple Pioneer Elite plasmas - great TVs for their time but getting old. I got a 65E6P a bit by accident - I went in to get a 65B6P but LG just jacked the price back up $500. Instead, they offered me a returned 65E6P for the former B6P price, saying it was returned because the 65 was too big/the guy took a 55 instead. (It was direct shipped and BestBuy has a great return policy, so...) Anyway, it has worked out. The blacks and contrast on the E6P are noticeably better than even the last Pioneer Elite (which is pretty good) and much better than a Sony X900 I had tried but returned (greys, not blacks, and blossoming). Dark detail and black/grey consistency is the best I've seen. And the off-angle (important in my situation) is better than the plasmas and one old IPS I have. If you turn out the lights and watch movies, OLED is unbeatable. My situation (an apartment hybrid situation) can also have a lot of light during the day but the E6P light output is fine. So far, motion and color rep seem fine. I haven't evaluated HDR yet. The E6P bottom speaker bar is nice for casual watching. So if you watch movies in the dark and need off-angle, the question is whether you can afford the OLED price. I missed Black Friday but waited for months for prices to dip, then scored a cheap E6P, well worth the moderate cost above Sony/Samsung high price models.

The Best Doesn't Come Cheap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Picture No Question. 5 stars for performance, but costly. This TV has full picture control with numerous options. Sound bar is exceptional. Stand is buried in box, so had to dig deep for it. Agree with person who said more instructions come with a hair dryer, so had to pull up online manual.

Wow. Just, wow...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not an videophile, but I'm an above average consumer who recognizes, appreciates, and likes having quality things. The most money I had ever spent on a TV was in 2010 for a 55" Sony 3DTV. It was 1080p, used Active 3D technology, and had a price tag of about $1,600. At the time, the picture was great and finally getting true 3D in the house was a big moment for me (always been a fan of 3D). However, like with anything, as time goes on, technology progresses. When 4K was new, I thought to myself this won't go far because 1080p TVs provided well enough sharpness and clarity. 4K seemed like a marketing strategy to me, at least until I saw 4K TVs on display next to 1080p TVs at the local stores. The differences was vast and it really blew my mind. THE DISPLAY—I really don’t have much words to describe how truly stunning the picture is on this TV. I had never seen a TV with such incredible color and sharpness until now. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays with HDR today looks absolutely breathtaking, but even older television shows and movies that isn’t 4K and doesn’t have HDR gets a massive bump in picture quality, too. If you’re looking for a movie to really show you what this TV display can do, I suggest the 4K HDR Blu-ray of Mad Max: Fury Road. It was also suggested to me The Revenant may be even better, though I have yet to check it out for myself. If you’re concerned about brightness, I have the TV in a room that has 5 windows, and the screen still looks great and bright on sunny days. OLED, while a costly new technology for TVs, is worth it if you appreciate quality picture with perfect contrast and pure black. It’s really put me in awe, for example during a video game of trivia, seeing bright sharp text displayed on a pure black background. It was so easy to read and it looked so natural. This kind of contrast is the best you can get. THE SOUND—I can’t say I was thrilled by the sound of the built in speakers, but I haven’t listened to audio from TV speakers in many, many years. I always use home theater surround for all audio. So, I can’t really rate it fairly. The only thing I did notice, is the audio level can be set pretty high, which is something positive. THE 3D—As far as 3D technology goes, Active 3D is a dreadful experience when compared to Passive 3D. Active 3D may provide full resolution video, but the need to buy a 3D add-on kit after spending hundreds or thousands for a "3D-ready" TV, costly and heavy glasses, need to replace batteries or make sure the glasses are charged, and the worst was the "strobing effect" from the Active 3D shutter on the glasses. And if you’re prone to seizers, the effect that may be a mere annoyance to many, may be a heath issue for you. And then Passive 3D came around and its offerings made a lot more sense. Passive 3D may not provide full resolution video like Active 3D does, but with how pixel-dense TVs are today, you still get a very sharp, clear picture and don't even notice much difference, if any at all. Also, Passive 3D glasses are super cheap and lightweight, don't require batteries or a recharge, and the “strobe effect” found in Active 3D technology is non-existent in Passive 3D systems. If you’re interested in watching 3D content, I very much suggest going with a TV that uses Passive 3D. The 3D system on this TV also has Duel Play, which allows split screen 2-player console games to be viewed full screen with each player only seeing their gameplay. All you need to buy is the Duel Play glasses from LG. And like their 3D glasses, Duel Play glasses are also lightweight and priced cheap. THE INTERFACE—I have an older LG Smart TV from probably four years ago. And while it’s a nice TV overall, the smart functions was painful with dreadfully slow apps and browser. The interface was okay, it got the job done, but it felt like I was leaving what ever was playing on the TV whenever I wanted to access the interface with all the apps. It felt like a separation between functions, instead of a seamless “overlay” experience. But over the past few years, LG has really stepped it up. I’m extremely satisfied with the new webOS 3 interface, as all inputs and apps are more tied in to make it one experience. It’s like going from one input to another is almost as seamless and easy as changing a channel. It’s also nice that you can go back to the previous input and have it instantly available where you left off, without it needing to load again. The split-screen functionality is essentially a “picture in picture” for all your inputs, meaning on the left side of the screen you can be watching the local news through antenna, satellite or cable, and be playing a console video game on the right side of the screen. You can also “mute” the audio coming from either side of the screen on the fly, or take either side out of split screen to make it full screen. ADDITIONAL FEATURES—It seems to have just enough HDMI inputs for my setup, but if you have more than one game console, you might be needing to find another way to hook it up, like through a receiver or switcher. The display on this TV is incredibly thin, which may make it difficult to protect from damage during transport, especially since its suggested the TV stand up during a haul. The majority of the screen, is almost like a single pane of glass. The smart remote is fantastic! The pointer makes it super easy to move around the interface, and it’s programmable to control other devices connected to the TVs inputs. The voice function makes searching for content a breeze without the need to type using the onscreen keyboard. The app store is somewhat limited, but it certainly has the basics plus some. The TV also has an input to hook a web camera up, meaning you can take pictures or record video during gatherings or Christmas morning and have it displayed on screen. It takes a special camera only available from LG though. I used the LG camera for Skype on my older LG TV. There’s plenty more features, but I’ll leave them for you to discover for yourself the way I did. I’m sure you’ll be surprised, too. I never thought I would pay $4000 for a TV, but I am glad I got it. And if it’s in your budget, I’m sure you’ll be more than pleased with it, too.

Amazing Television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most amazing picture quality I've ever seen, it must be seen to be believed! The set itself is a work of art as it appears to be 2 pieces of glass with carbon fiber in the back at less than 1/2" thick!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put, the best TV out there. I replaced an awesome 12 year old Pioneer Plasma Elite panel and this one is even better. 4k looks stunning with lots of HDR control. To be honest, the hit with the family is the 3D however - literally more lifelike than the theater. Get this set before the '17 model replaces this one and you can no longer have 3D. Note: especially in 4k, if the action seems a bit jittery, go into settings and shut off the "tru motion" setting - this helps a ton.

Excellent Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful monitor. Picture quality is brighter than my previous Panasonic ZT60 plasma, colors seem as good or better. This is the set you want to get - it's got everything you really need without paying extra for the G model's nice-to-haves. If you are using this as part of a home theater, you simply don't need the G and LG has stated they use the same panels between these two (and others, if I recall) anyway. My gripes are only a few: the mount for the monitor is too low on the device, it made my FutureAutomation mount visible; and the HDMI connections are too close to the edge of the tv, making the cable visible from certain angles. Who cares, though...the picture is great. The best you can buy until the wizards at Panasonic come out with an OLED for the US market.

Good TV but not perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the C6 model first because of the deals being offered. I had been watching it for awhile. I asked the sales associate about the different TVs and was told they are all the same between the C6, B6, E6. The only difference was one was curved, one did not have special speaker, and one had a better speaker. After watching the 2016 RIO olympics and all that fast motion I was really disappointed in my several thousand dollar purchase. During the swimming with the shimmering water the TV REALLY struggles and made everything "boxy" without a sharp picture. I went to the store (different store) and did more research online. The sales associate said the models were NOT all equal and the E6 and the new G6 were better. I decided to spend the extra money and get the E6 while returning the C6. The picture is a little better (more contrast and colors). I also noticed that the motion blurring i was seeing (on the C6) was not nearly as bad as on the C6. I calibrated both TVs so I am comparing equals. I am much happier so far with the E6. I would have gone with the G6 but the price jump was just too much more money. If you are going to spend this kind of money go with the higher end E6 or G6. You won't be disappointed you did. If you don't trust me just find some fast motion like the Olympic mens 100 M sprint and check it out and compare them....all blur and horrible picture (and yes I did try all different trumotion settings)! Don't get me wrong, the still pictures like the news anchors sitting at a desk or other non moving pictures are fantastic but watching sports sucked. The football being thrown had boxes around it and following it. Very annoying! Get the E6 or higher! This model looks pretty cool too with the picture on "glass". The 4K Netflix content looks awesome. I bet the bluray 4K videos super even better!!!

good tv with a few flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my pioneer elite plasma with this tv. It beats it in color, contrast, and black levels but my plasma beats this tv in picture quality of a bad HD signal. This tv doesnt handle bad HD signal very well. Its pixelates in dark scenes which is very distracting. The only way to fix this somewhat is to set brightness levels on 47 or 64 on cimema or isf expart ( dark room ). I would recommend setting OLED LIGHT ON 50,CONTRAST on 74, BRIGHTNESS on 47 or 64, SHARPNESS on 10, and COLOR on 50. I have direct tv and setting the brightness on 64 helps a lot but my old plasma still does a better job. Setting the brightness on 47 works too but for me its too dark. This tv is still a good tv but I was a little disappointed. I would recommend if you buy this tv that you should get it calibrated but make sure you get someone experienced with calibrating oled tvs because they are hard too calibrate the gamma levels. Its a good tv but I should have waited for the next yrs models

Superb Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oled, best tv since Pioneer Kuro Elite. It is amazing that Lg manage to almost perfect a new technology that others couldn't. Yet, it seem they have'd. Not since Pioneers' Elite plasmas, there never was a tv to match it until now. Even the best 4k lcds doesn't come close in brightness, contrast, sharpness, colors and the ever pursuit of the deepest blacks there is. I compared my Pioneer Elite Plasma to the OLED and believe me, I couldn't tell the difference in quality whatsoever and yet the Pioneer is 1080p and the OLED is 4k. Go figure. The OLED is great! Pricey, so was the Pioneer Kuro Elite at the time. Buy it and enjoy. Nothing comes close to it today.
