LG 65" OLED - EXCELLENT TV - Super price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Sony XBR65X900c in April 2016. Overall, pictured was good, some washed out colors and did suffer from some light bleeding. I came from another Sony LED and wanted to stay with Sony. I had checked out the LG 65" flat screen OLED but the price ($5999) was more than I could justify. I liked Sony and the $1999 price sold me. Hard to justify another new TV after only seven months, but I was unhappy. I've saw the new Sony XBR65X930D and liked the new vivid colors and deep black picture at a price of $1999. The LG was side by side the Sony, and the OLED 65" at $2798 was a bargain. I'm not a impulse shopper, but I made a instant decision to go with the LG 65" OLED based on almost solid 5 Star reviews. I installed it at home today and it's better than I imagined (DirecTV). Picture is both beautiful and exceptional. This is my fifth big screen TV in eight years and my first LG. Couldn't be happier.

Mother of God...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved my Panasonic 50GT30 a lot. I see absolutely no way to improve this television. If your only complaint is the speakers, you shouldn't be allowed to own one. This thing deserves to be complimented by a solid surround sound system. That's like having the best cake ever with bad icing. The clarity, brightness, darkness, and simple overall flawlessness of this tv exceeded my expectations exponentially. I legitimately could only be happier if it was a 75" #AMERICA. If this is a purchase you're contemplating, do it. You will not regret it.

Overhyped and overpriced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, don't pay full price for this TV. It's $4000 as I write this, but it's been on sale for under $3000. Let's get right to the meat of this TV—the picture quality. Most of the time, it's amazing. If you watch in a dim/dark room, the black parts of the screen turn off, so you get perfect blacks. Coming from LED TVs, this is a revolution. When I talk about the amazing picture quality, notice I said most of the time. These TVs show 0% black perfectly; unfortunately, they have a lot of trouble with near black. Out of the box, the settings severely crush blacks, so you're not seeing all the shadow detail you should. This is just my opinion, but it seems that LG sets them up this way to hide all the panel's flaws that occur at these low levels. With a few tweaks (like raising gamma to 2.2) shadow detail is acceptable. However, there is a much bigger issue called vignetting, where the edges of the screen show "black flames." (see attached photo). Vignetting was a known problem with the 2015 models, and even though many reviewers said it was fixed: it's not. I went through two of these OLEDs and finally gave up because they both had vignetting that was serious enough for me to notice in movies. So while the picture can be amazing, if you're picky, you'll likely find some issues (unless you're lucky enough to win the panel lottery). Despite what anyone tells you, there are still serious flaws with OLED. This is unacceptable for a TV in this price range.

Awesome Television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG OLED TV is spectacular! The HDMI ARC feature also ties together my Denon AVR and Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player so nicely. I purchased the TV for $2,800 on Thanksgiving Friday. After 12/31/2016, the price returned to $4,000. Thus, I got a great TV at a nice price.

Simply put, Outstanding!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll leave all of the tech speak for the other reviewers, and just say this: The picture on this TV is beyond incredible! I set the picture mode to "Cinema" (to reduce soap opera effect) and have not had to make any other adjustments. It is great in bright light and low light...the side angle viewing is perfect, and it even comes with decent audio quality. No regrets whatsoever.

Incredible television
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will have to say this is the most amazing television I've ever seen. The blacks are so deep that it's like nothing else and in turn it makes the colors so bright that they are sometimes hard to believe.

Screen Burned In
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have less than 15000 total hours on this tv and the screen is already burned in. LG wants nothing to do with this. They say just to keep trying with the reset panel mode. This does nothing. I'll be purchasing an OLED of a different brand in the future as LG has truly let me down on what is supposed to be a premier product of theirs

Problems With Two Sets - Almost Received A Third
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had gone into best buy during 2016's black friday week to purchase this OLED. originally we were looking at a $1400 Samsung, Then we were shown a $2100 Sony, and finally we saw the crazy quality of LG's B6 65 inch OLED and we were immediately sold. Shortly after purchasing the TV with a wall mount, matching sub woofer, In home installation (wall mounting) and best buy's total assurance five year package, the screen on the TV started doing this weird white flickering on the bottom corner of the screen. After several attempts reach best buy's home and theater via their customer support phone line and getting no response, I finally had to visit the store myself and show them video of what the issue was. After they reviewed it, they immediately set me up with a new replacement TV. The home delivery service came out a second time to take the original defective TV and replaced it with a new one. Seems solid, right? Wrong. Just a few weeks after receiving this TV, I started having issues with the netflix application. The app itself crashed consistently when trying to launch it from LG's home menu to the point where it was unusable. This didn't bother us much as we had just recently cancelled our netflix subscription anyways. We had scheduled a TV calibration and pushed it back several times as we were informed the calibrations on these OLED's require 300 hours of usage versus 100 hours on any other TV/manufacturer. The guy finally came out to do the calibration after only having our second TV for roughly a month. Once he was finished, the TV went nuts and the menus within the youtube app were cycling through categories on its own. I showed Matt (calibration tech) what was going on. He immediately took out the batteries from the remote and informed me it's either an issue with the remote, the IR sensor, or the motherboard within the TV. We confirmed it wasn't the remote and it was one of the other two within the TV. I go to best buy that day and inform them of what's happening. I even showed them video once again of what was going on. They immediately set me up with a THIRD replacement of the same model LG to be delivered on a day I had to work. I sucked it up and decided I could take the entire day off and have them come out for the third time. Over the weekend after discussing the issue with my lady, she decided we were done with this OLED65B6P model and wanted the newest model LG had to offer. We were damned if this TV went three for three in defective units and we didn't want to go that route. We visited the store and Kasey (KC? - Home and Theater Supervisor) heard our story for the first time and decided to sell us on the upgraded LG model but WE were going to have to pay the difference. I informed him we were not paying anything additional as we're having to replace this same model for the third time at this point. So they recommend we buy a new Sony model, but again, WE pay the difference. After constant negotiating (which negotiating shouldn't have even been taking place at this point) we decided to speak to Kenya (Store Manager). After explaining out head aches and how absurd this entire situation had gotten, she also couldn't give us a resolution we could agree on and continued to decide we could get an upgraded model LG or Sony but we were going to fit the remaining balance. At this point my girlfriend and I were so frustrated with the entire situation that we demanded to get a full refund of an estimated $4300 purchase. Only after having the TV for officially three months, we were going to go through three sets of these TV's. We provided evidence of the constant issues we experienced as first time LG TV owners in general on the first two sets, and best buy really dropped the ball on their customer service. I guess their bottom line in sales is more important than customer retention at this point. I want to state that Kellen, Erik and Joey at the oceanside CA best buy home and theater location were amazing to deal with. If anyone decides to purchase a TV from best buy, I highly recommend speaking to any of these three gentlemen. Kasey (KC) is a horrible supervisor as he doesn't care and gives off that same type of body language when dealing with him and Kenya as a manager didn't assist us any further to the point where we demanded our $4,300 purchase refunded. Over all we went through two of these OLED65B6P TV's. We were on the verge of receiving our third TV of the same model. Both of the original TV's we received were defective, and extremely buggy. We experienced a defective screen with constant white flickering, issues with crashing applications, loss in control of the remote and the IR sensor, complete loss of sound on the tv itself, and through an optical cable, issues with uninstalling and reinstalling application and even trying to get passed the basic user agreement when selecting the LG store to try to download applications once again. This experience was a total nightmare and best buy couldn't give us a resolution to a complete disaster. I would never recommend this TV to anyone, nor would I ever purchase another LG TV again.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've loved my VT55 for last few years. I've been looking for a new TV that matched plasma level picture. This 65" B6 is incredible. I went back and forth between this and other cheaper alternatives. Seeing this compared on the floor at best buy on the same feed just blew me away. Trust me, buy this TV.

Static Images will burn in.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a Panasonic plasma to this Oled tv. All reviews I read said permanent burn in was almost impossible for this technology. I have several areas with either really long image retention or its permanent. Clear panel noise does nothing. The picture quality is amazing if your not planning on using a Pc or game system with this tv. Seems only yellow burns into the screen for some reason too.

Screen Burn
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not purchase this TV if you watch sports channels, news channels, play games, or any station that has a crawl. The panel on this tv burns very easily. Now have a $6000 tv with permanent artifacts on screen.

Don't be fooled
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my eye on an OLED tv for years, and finally broke down and got one. Problem is Hulu is not a supported app anymore, but this didn't happen until 2 months AFTER I bought the tv, so of course, I couldn't return it. Many people would just buy a Roku, but I paid $3000 for a smart tv, I expect it to work the way it is supposed to. I pestered LG support with emails and calls and they never made it right. I will make sure and avoid LG products in the future.
