Excellent clarity, 2nd large LG TV purchase. Both have been very good. Plasma in 2006 and now OLED. Miss the DVR built into my Plasma, but not an option anywhere anymore. Easy install and setup. 2 man lift due to size, not weight.

If you don’t mind having the center of your screen so discolored that people look like they are turning into the hulk then this $2k tv will be perfect for you! LG knows these TVs have issue and they leave their customers hanging after purchasing what was the best tv available. What a slap in the face! Got a new Samsung Q series and we love the color pictures and we no longer have to baby sit our tv. I understand burn in but this isn’t that! From what I have read online this center of screen discoloration is caused by an electrical failure (over heating element) in the TV. Meaning it is unavoidable.

After some time going back and forth, and a final check in the store, we pulled the trigger on this TV to replace a 65 inch LG 4k display in our media room, our main driver being a desire for HDR, an upgrade to an OLED screen and some additional HDMI inputs. I will get this out of the way; this is a fantastic TV at a relatively great price. It does take some configuration to get things tuned just right if you want to get the most out of it, but this isn't anything that detracts from the TV itself. It earns a solid five stars. Physical Appearance: I never thought something could make my 4K LED screen that was only a few years old seem clunky, but here we go. This thing is sleek, and very thin. It is effectively as thin as the LG wallpaper, eg barely thicker than an SD card. The bezels on this model are silver, with a clear acrylic stand. The display is thicker on the bottom center portion to house all the guts, but it is across the board sleek and worthy of being called eye candy. Once setup and running, the display itself is amazing. Everyone says it; the blacks are incredibly true black, but the sheer ability to process images, displaying in full 4K HDR glory is where this thing shines. It just knocks it out of the park. I will note however that HDR is actually disabled by default! You do have to enable it on each input before it will kick in. You have four HDMI ports to plug into, HDMI 2 being an ARC input (audio return channel). In this case we have an LG SJ9 Soundbar to give us Dolby Atmos, hooked into HDMI 2 on the TV, with an Xbox One S hooked into the sound bar's HDMI-IN. It handles streaming 4k netflix in HDR, while also piping out Dolby Atmos on the content that uses it. The TV also has "smart" features, running WebOS, so you can do the usual streaming shindig on this thing, but I prefer to avoid the built in apps. Anyway, I'm not going to bother with some exhaustive technical review. Buy this TV, it rocks.

It took me a few years to write this review. In saying that, this TV has cost me nothing but headaches and problems. I purchased the Geek extra protection plan and had the TV service several times. Subsequently, this TV has been serviced throughout the protection plan and since the protection plan expired I'm still having issues. This LG was considered to be a top trier flat screen TV. Mostly affected with yellow, reds and greens which seems like a tint issue. However, there are several spaces on the TV that are affected more than other spaces. I won't get in the X's and O's Since, normally when tint is adjusted, which ever way you want to go the entire screen is affected. LA Lakers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers uniforms are mainly yellow. Cheese and eggs that are yellow are affected as well. It's just a on going frustration, especially the amount of money spent on this TV. I did a chat on line with Best Buy and never got a response. Green Eggs and Ham.

I used to work in electronics and I was team plasma. I loved my Pioneer, deep blacks, great contrast, and no motion blur. I kept an eye on the new tech and all the new LCD's and LED's just could not hold a candle to my TV. Well we finally decided it was time to replace the plasma. First we tried an LED and I just wasn't happy. Gray blacks, hard to see dark scenes, and fan hands when people moved. We called Best Buy and decided to take the plunge and exchange for this OLED. I...am...floored. Deep rich blacks, wonderful contrast, and it handles motion almost as well as the plasma and with 4K. I feel like this is the TV I have been waiting for. I worthy replacement for my Pioneer TV. Pros. Deep Blacks, Handles dark scenes well, handles motion Well. Wonderful colors. Truly excellent picture. Great tweeking options to get the picture just right for your room. Cons. None really unless your big on sound. The speakers are base level which is the only performance difference between this and upper models. (No really- picture quality is the same on all LG OLED models) However if your in to great sound you most like have a system or sound bar so the base level speaker do not matter. Oh, I guess the structure of the TV, the fact that it is an OLED makes it super thin, not really a con in most situations, but it does require that care is taken well unboxing and installing.

Owned for 6 years and still going strong - great picture and color, no issues with display burn in; deep blacks, gorgeous colors. Paired with a LG sound bar and wireless rear for great sound. The wifi works well for streaming 4K Dolby Vision online. The LG app store doesn't keep the apps updated well so I found it better to use a Roku Ultra. The included power cord is a little short, built in and not centered so hard to manage cords.

Love this TV. I finally replaced my samsung LCD that I bought in 2007 and after 11 years it was still working fine, but I wanted to upgrade to 4k and figured why not go for the OLED. In the store I was looking at the newest 65 and 75 inch LG LED's with local array dimming, which were better than their regular panel LED, and it was about a thousand dollars less than the OLED. If you're looking for a great TV and don't care about 'the black level' then it's an excellent TV. (such as the SK8000). The picture is still great and it's 4k with all the bells and whistles. With that said, it wasn't until it was side by side with this OLED that I could really see a difference. The black level of darkness is an entirely different story. The panel is a little more reflective than the LED panels, but in a darker room it won't matter to me. Paired with an LG 4k player it's pretty awesome. I've been using it for about 2 weeks, also with apple TV, and everything has run smooth and clear. Streaming through LG for 4k content through the built in amazon prime and netflix apps is pretty good, but it did buffer a couple times. (Maybe that's due to my slower 55mbps wifi connection) but overall it performed nicely. I picked this TV up on sale for $2299 instead of the $2599, plus I had gift cards from my work which took off $1000. After taxes I paid about 1500. Would I have bought this TV without my gift cards? Probably. When looking at this TV next to any other LG non OLED TV, you clearly see it's better quality so to me, it's worth the extra cost for the newer technology. With all that said, if you don't care about the darker blacks and deeper colors, save yourself the money and go with LED. If you want the highest quality picture, then OLED. Outside of that, i found the LG TV's to be nearly identical. This one is also super thin on top, so mounted or not it's great! I decided not to mount mine (for now) and with the clear bracket on bottom it really does look like it's mounted or floating from the front, which is an excellent touch of design. If I could change one thing, it would be to add options to the LG tv screen saver. It has one option (animated fireworks) but it would be nice to download some pictures or other animated things. There's an app to play art, but there's only a handful of pictures and it got old after two days, plus it's not a screen saver you have to actually go into the options and click play. Besides that, I'm happy with the purchase.

I was first looking at getting this TV in the 55” configuration, however when I went in to the store with my wife, we ultimately decided on the 65”. I was blown away with the picture quality, namely the sharpness of whatever colors were on the display. My wife wasn’t completely sold on this purchase until we got it home and mounted on the wall. I played some 4K HDR content via our new 4K Apple TV and she was soon convinced. This was by far the best purchase we’ve made for our new house. It really creates a talking point as soon as anyone sees it, specifically due to the sheer size and design of the tv. Set up was easy, especially for someone that is a tech wiz. Don’t worry if you aren’t though, the menus laid out exactly what settings you were choosing and why you were choosing them. Overall a great looking and functioning set. I would say if you have the space and the couple extra hundred dollars, get the 65” over the 55”. Highly recommend!

Unbelievable picture, but concerns about burn in

I upgraded to this LG OLED from an older plasma that was still doing well. The OLED is a dramatic improvement when you give it a good source feed (720p at least, 1080p+ preferred). The 4k upscaling is good and native 4k is really fantastic. HDR is unreal, and it's truly what this TV does best. You're really missing out if you purchase this TV and don't watch good HDR material on it. Lastly, the most incredible thing about this TV is how perfect the blacks are. Watch this in a dark room and the right scenes will simply blow you away. It's not a perfect TV though, there are a couple of concerns despite the amazing picture. The first, and lesser of the two is the motion handling. It's simply not as good as my old plasma. That's not to say it's bad, but it leaves just a bit to be desired. I've found a pretty good compromise with the settings and it wouldn't stop me from buying this again however. The Sony OLED has better motion handling, but it's much more expensive and not worth it simply for that. The larger concern is with the possibility of burn in. I haven't seen or experienced any issues but it's very much a constant concern with OLED unfortunately. I wish it didn't have to be, because there are a lot of TV channels, video games, etc. today that use static images. I've made some adjustments to the TV such as keeping the OLED light setting low (>40) as this seems to be the biggest factor in developing burn in of static images. We'll see how it goes, hopefully this isn't a long term concern but it's unfortunately something you have to accept and stay conscious of when using an OLED, this is not for the family that leaves a TV on CNN all day in a bright room.

After 3 weeks of enjoyment, we're still amazed at the picture quality. There is no substitute for absolute black. Period. Samsung, Sony, and Vizio all have top-of-the-line 4K pictures that come close (remember, Sony's OLED screen is made by LG), but they're all wannabees. Since I brought up the Sony/LG fact, I know that I also have to acknowledge that the Sony OLED may have a better processor and the using of the screen as the speakers, but I couldn't see any noticeable difference in the store displays. So, if you're willing to pony up an additional 30 - 50%, maybe it's worth it to you, but it wasn't for me. Another thing I didn't like about the Sony -- and this is just me -- is the weird, picture-frame-like, back support stand, for those of us who choose not to wall-mount the TV. I much prefer the standard center pedestal on the LG. The absolute kicker on this deal at BB (as opposed to the identical product and price at Costco, which I could have gotten with an additional 3 years of warranty) was the $300 off the sale price for the LG SJ9 Dolby Atmos soundbar. Granted, I still love my true 5.1 Pioneer Elite system. But I gotta tell you, this soundbar/sub that LG has come up with, especially with the inclusion of Dolby Atmos, is pretty dog-gone incredible. When added all together, this package was a couple hundred less than the Sony OLED TV -- and definitely sounded worlds better.

Once you go OLED, you don't go back. I've had plasma TVs, LCD TVs, LED TVs... and nothing compares to OLED. Period. Once I bought my first one, I eventually sold the rest of my TVs and upgraded them all to OLED. Perfect blacks / perfect contrast (especially when paired with HDR) make for colors that pop and images that jump off the screen. Many 2D movies feel 3D because of how rich and lifelike everything is.

Watching this tv in full 4K HDR will remind you of the first time you saw an HD picture. It’s light years ahead of a normal LED 4K picture and much better than an LED 4K HDR picture. The blacks are so black it will blow your mind. The lights in HDR shine so bright and the contrast is amazing. Easy 5 stars.

Ill start by saying that Best buy's delivery gets a bad rep if you read about it online, but I found it extremely easy to use and they showed up at 9 am during my 8-12pm timeline. I had zero issues with delivery. This beaut. I upgraded from a 32" dynex tv that I bought for $20 off a friend 6+ years ago. I decided to splurge and get the best I could afford and all the tv nerds online convinced me this is the way to go. Set up was a breeze, I connected it to an LG sound bar that sounds brilliant. I was so on the fence with OLED and qled because I'm a sucker for a bright picture and love having my room filled with light. But watching this TV at night is cinematic. I feel like I'm in a theatre. And video games are truly beautiful! - side note: can't wait to watch Westworld season 2 on this thing. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not quite perfect in my opinion. It may still just be getting caught up with itself (I haven't used it very much yet) but I feel like trying to use controls like switch between Netflix/apps/etc gets a little haywire sometimes and isn't necessarily the quickest. Probably a firmware issue though I'm sure. I also am probably in the minority who thinks this thing is just way too thin. I had no idea it was so thin when I bought it and my anxiety was though the roof trying to set it up. I was 99% convinced I was going to snap it in half and break it before I even got to turn it on. Because even though it's thin, it's big and heavy and requires some serious care in handling. I'm seriously convinced my cat will push it down one day and I'll be devastated. Overall - I'm obsessed. And I've never been a TV person at all, but every time I get down, I look at this piece of art and feel instantly better.

Let me begin by saying the customer service i had at Best Buy's store in Boise Idaho off of Franklin avenue went above and beypnd expectations. I went in looking at tvs and was met by Tad who helped me understand the various models, pros and coms, of each brand smart Tv. He was not pushy on sales and stayed eithin my price range and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. Purchase was a breeze and was guaranteed price match for 30 days. My only complaint at all was i was not informed that price matching was only through certain retailers listed on Best Buy's website. None the less i found a deal on a website that was listed as an approved price match option. I went into the store where Heather and Jeremy made sure that my price match guarantee was honored. Little to no hassle whatsoever and the customer service was exemplary. They really went the extra mile. I cannot say enough for the friendly, educated, and helpful staff at this particular location. Onto the tv. I am very pleased with LG, the colors are amazing, resolution outstanding, and ease of use and setup was a breeze. There are several videos and tutorials on youtube and other websites including LG to run you through the basics and other features to help you get the most out of your tv. Connecting to the internet, pairing with devices, utilizing apps that require log in and streaming all easy. Adjusting features like audio, and screen display seems daunting at first because of all the options but is really quite simple. The only thing that had me panicked for a short time was i have an old (5 years) yamaha reciever that uses the old style hdmi hookups, this was not compatible with my new tv due to the hdmi arc that is required to run a seperate reciever. However this panic was short lived due to LG still having an optical cable connection, so after a 12 dollar purchase i had my old sound system and blue ray player hooked up no problems. Excellent product! Would recommend hands down for anyone looking at new TVs. The price is high but there is absolutely a reason for that, watch a movie in a dark room and when the screen goes black you will think your tv turned off (i did). The color contrast and saturation and black levels are second to none. Hopefully this long winded review was helpful, good luck Tv shopping, definitely dont count these models out if its within your budget

What can I say, that has not already been said. Brilliant TV! True blacks are amazing, the smart features on the TV far exceed those of any other that I've seen with LG's web OS. The remote is very intuitive and allows for fun interactivity with your television. All of the sources work as advertised, and the HDR effect is amazing even on older movies. Bravo to LG on the performance of this television, hands-down best TV I've ever owned.

B7A OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class  Almost perfect. Its shortcomings ruin your TV watching experience even if they are not common. When the screen hits a white or very bright scene (roughly 60% or more of the frame), the ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) kicks in and automatically dims the picture. Absolutely unacceptable! LG, release a software update to turn this off. You can dominate the market if you get rid of this setting or give the user control over it. If you don’t release an update I will be trading this in for a SONY or a newer OLED that does not have this feature. The ABL most commonly kicks in during white logo screens during commercials. If it only happened during commercials I wouldn’t have any issues but it does happen during shows and movies and that ruins the experience. Additionally, the out-of-box settings are terrible. It takes a bit of time to turn all the picture processing features off, set the color balance to neutral, ... This is to see the programs as intended by the filmmakers. LG, give people the option to turn these on but do not force them on people. Come on! Now, I am a visual professional who works in marketing. Maybe not everyone will notice this or care. But, if you are a movie/TV geek who wants a true cinematic experience, the ABL will drive you nuts. Not sure if the SONY OLEDs have ABL, but I would imagine not. On the brighter side of things, the LG B7A OLED’s colors and dynamic range meet and or exceed those previously found on SONY Trinitron CRTs. I never dabbled in plasma so I cannot compare. I deliberately watched some children shows to test the color. To my astonishment, high-gamut colors like bright reds and magentas were fully resolved without color clipping typically found on LEDs. Blacks are perfect and dark detail is incredible. LEDs do not have pure black and usually dark details are lost, not the case with the LG B7A OLED. If you are a fan of Stranger Things, you will be astonished by the extra detail this TV brings out. Pros: • Wide color gamut • Accurate color • Incredible dynamic range (contrast ratio) • Pure black • Excellent dark detail • Pure white* • Excellent light detail Cons: • ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) • Out of box settings make for horrible picture quality * Pure white is only available when you enable that setting and the ABL has not kicked in

This tv has a beautiful picture. The infinite contrast allows for great viewing in a dark room. The different settings allow you to customize the picture for any use ( movie, sports, gaming). The setup was super easy. It’s 2 people to move it, but only because of the size, not the weight. We got the SJ-9 sound bar with it, and it’s got tremendous sound and clarity. There’s no motion blur during sports, football or hockey. The remote is very nice. We really like the spin wheel for selection. The connection to the internet was easy, wired and wireless. The remote controls the sound bar and the cable box. Go to https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/b7-b7a-oled/settings and follow their setup info to get a great picture.

I came from the world of Plasmas. The last 3 or 4 tvs were plasmas and the most recent was a Panasonic VT50 which is still a great TV. I highly considered going with the Samsung QLED or the MU9000 series. They are impressive tvs and get very bright but coming from a Plasma I think OLED more closely resembles that but they are still brighter, 4k, hdr and offer today’s tech. So far the picture is great and the blacks are incredible. They are infinite black and beat the best plasmas. The new Xbox One X looks incredible on it and so do blu rays and 4K movies. The tv is light and slim and looks great. I hope this tv is as reliable and long lasting as my plasmas have been, so far extremely happy.

I have been looking at the LG OLED series for a while now and decided to pull the trigger when this model dropped below $3k. Picture quality is superb, "magic" remote works great as do all of the built in web apps. I have been very happy in the first month or so of ownership. One thing to keep in mind - I was the most nervous mounting this TV of any I have every mounted due to the glass only top portion of the TV. Got it in without incident, but you do have to be more careful in how you handle the top part of the TV.

Decided to upgrade our TV. Thought we had settled on a Sony, but took a second look at the OLED and couldn’t be happier. Incredibly easy set up - installed within minutes on our existing wall mount. Love the magic remote, which makes entering passwords so much easier (move the pointer and click). Fun art gallery mode that makes the screen look like a piece of framed art. Great quality picture. Use a separate sound receiver, so no info on that feature. Would definitely recommend.
