The tv says that I cannot watch 4K tv as tv is not capable of this. We purchased the tv specifically because of its 4K capability. Should I return in it as defective?

Had the TV 13 months. Has a burned-in image. Had to jump through hoops to get anything done, even though I paid for 2 years of geek squad. Had me do a pixel refresh for a week straight. Takes about an hour to do each time. Finally came out today and said I can get a replacement, however the replacement costs $1000 less than I paid for the TV. Garbage response and garbage product.

Reason for only 2 stars is because after less than 6 months the screen had to be replaced due to a stuck pixel and the screen they’re replacing it with only has a 90-day warranty. Ridiculous! A $3k television and I can’t even depend on not having to completely replace it on my dime for a full year?! I’ve had Samsung twice previously & truly wish I’d just stayed with them for their QLED or popped for extra for a Sony OLED. Never again LG!!

The picture started failing in the red spectrum in the middle of the screen and has move outward and to more of the color spectrum. Now has a mystery partial burn in. Unreliable technology that needs better backing and customer treatment from LG.

I originally went to the store to purchase the same size and style Samsung. Best Buy worker with LG logo on his Best Buy shirt talked me into the LG. Very disappointed with the picture on this tv compared to what I saw on the Samsung and very disappointed with Best Buy employee, knowing I was very set on the Samsung, pushed me to the LG.

I don’t see a huge difference between this tv and my old Samsung that was under $1000. It’s a nice TV but definitely not for the price.

20 months after I purchase I have noticed color blotches on the TV screen. The blotches are only visible when the screen is displaying certain colors like yellow, orange and red. I am guessing certain pixels or whatever they are called are not operating correctly. I dont have a warranty because after spending $2500 for an OLED TV that received some good ratings I could not afford the extended warranty.
Pretty disappointed. TV's should last longer than this

the TV is good but the purchase experience with getting rewards points/etc has been a hassle. I'd buy it from somewhere else if you're looking for a deal/incentives.

DO NOT PURCHASE LG OLED TV's
I paid $2300 for 65 inch LG OLED 2.5 years ago. A black spot appeared on side of screen, with line running from side to middle of screen. There has been no physical damage. I did all trouble shooting steps I found on website. As of today all LG phone lines are out of service. The website does not list any warranty specifics on this TV. LG brand TV should be dropped from Best Buy.

I bought this tv less than 3 months ago and the screen has already failed. A visible, vertical black line has appeared that will not go away with a screen refresher. Not looking forward to warranty calls with LG; I just want a refund!

Everything was almost perfect...

I would consider myself a video/audiophile. I have been eyeing this TV for about a year. Every single review I watched said that this was the best TV that money could buy (reasonably) however the cost was still too expensive for me to pull the trigger until it dropped several hundred dollars on black Friday- so I made the move. Everything good from every review was true and more. The blacks are perfect, like, CANNOT get any better due to the fact that OLED pixels actually turn off in black areas of the frame. The color is fantastic and the 4k quality is impeccable. Everything was almost perfect- until I watched something with motion on the screen. The motion blur was not noticeable at first to my gf and other guests but after I pointed it out in several instances (watching planet earth II) it annoyed all of us. I tried all of the TV's motion settings and that only made it worse. Recently I was watching some 4k drone footage via the youtube app on webOS and the judder was so bad it made me dizzy. I looked online to see if anyone else had been experiencing this same issue and it turns out almost everyone was. I don't know how all of those review videos failed to mention this. The motion blur/ trailing images and outlines and judder seems unfixable- a processor issue. Except from what I understand every b7 is like that. I don't know if it has to do with the original FPS of the content and the refresh rate of the TV but what I do know is that when it is noticeable it so bad it seems as if the TV is broken. I am a stickler for the small details and imperfections. Other than that this TV is beyond anything that I could have wished for. But in movies and shows like Coco and Planet Earth and NHL hockey games, the blur and judder really disappoints me. I don't know what to do, if I had known this before I would have waited for the issue to be fixed.

Great blacks, horrible vertical banding

I had this unit for two days until I finally started seeing anomalies in my picture. I wasn't quite sure what I was seeing until I looked it up online - vertical banding. You can see it quite plainly if you put up a static gray image on the screen. I had numerous vertical off gray lines that looked like jail bars running across the whole screen. Now while this doesn't mean anything in the context of "who stares at gray screens" I could see it in so much normal viewing content.
Where I first noticed it was Captain America: The First Avenger. Right from the opening scene where people in black snowsuits were walking across the snowy plane. As they walked and the screen panned I could see weird motion issues. This is because the vertical bands are static and as motion happened in the video it would move across the static images creating what seemed like watching a video while also seeing a reflection on the TV screen. Bottom line, once you see it you can't unsee it and it ruins the picture quality. I also noticed it on Stranger Things. Basically anything where there's a dark image and there's motion. Which is ironic because this TV's strength is dark images.
It has nice blacks to be sure. But it's all ruined by a bad panel. I read online of people playing what's called the "panel lottery". Basically you have to keep returning the bad TVs until you find one that's 'acceptable'. The though of having to return this TV more than once sounded exhausting so I just straight returned it. This TV is not worth the fuss. Looks like I'm going back to LCD tech until micro LED comes along to overthrow both of them.
Side note: I was debating between this and the A1E. The question I asked myself was is the difference in price worth it? After trying LG I'd say yes. Sony definitely has better motion and motion is a HUGE deal when it comes to a TV. It's pretty much everything. I would experience weird hitches in video games (from PS4 Pro), poor image from any movie that wasn't a UHD, and the motion settings were either too strong or not strong enough. Very hard to dial down. Sony does not have these issues.
I will say though, their WebOS is definitely superior to Sony's Android TV. And LG has been great with firmware updates and supporting a lot of HDR technologies right out of the box. So for that I give them props. These are some of the reasons I started with the LG first. That and price. But overall, unless you like gambling with the whole panel lottery thing I'd stay away.

Fantastic picture, ideal with audio system

My wife and I have been waiting for OLEDs to reach 4K status and to come down in price. Plus, with a very good surround sound system already in place, we were really looking for an OLED 'monitor' and to let the sound system handle the rest. The LG OLED65B7A was the answer. A great OLED display and slim case enables nearly all types of mounts (if you need thinner, consider the 'W' series if you can afford it). We have an Onkyo AV sound system with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision compatibility so we were less concerned about the audio portion of this unit than the display. I did try the internal speakers and they're not bad for the money, but we don't use them in normal operation. I would think for for 'normal' viewing the speakers would be fine, but note that it does not support Dolby Atmos on its own. Setup can be a bit daunting as there are multiple variables for function, audio, video, etc. but if you read multiple review sites that provide setup guidance, they can get you in the ball park quickly. Menus are not very helpful, and some are fairly buried. The top part of the glass-on-glass display is relatively thin so be careful handling it. The 'B7A' is the perfect companion to the Apple TV 4K as both are Dolby Vision compatible and the 'B7A' does a great job of upscaling any resolution (4K, 1080P, or less). Contrast and color saturation is amazing as you would expect with an OLED. Motion processing is very good as well, making a bad Bronco season a little more tolerable. Because of the quality of the picture, As '65' is the new '55', and especially for OLED, the room can be any form factor (narrow and deep, wide and shallow, etc.) and this unit will work just fine. Unlike LED 4K televisions, this has virtually unlimited viewing angle (obviously you can't see behind it, but just about). Some find the screen's glossiness an issue, but in our great room with 8 windows there isn't an issue.

Excellent OLED TV

I have had the TV since May 13 2018. I have loved every day of watching tv and movies on this OLED. Like so many reviews there are good and bad to this tv.
1. The color and black levels are next to none than any other TV on the market NON OLED.
2. Good selection of apps on the web os platform but needs more.
3. With a bit of careful planning you can avoid the OLED burn It that happens. I have the OLED light on 100 and no Issues
4. This is the best deal for the OLED on the market, if you don't need internal sound from the tv even better deal. I have a home theater so the internal speakers don't even get used.
5. So LG does not warranty the panel for burn in which is a bummer. static images will cause permanent image retention so follow the
guides on how to prevent OLED image retention and burn in.
Even with the potential issue of the oled tv I would still rate this as a great buy. I have not found any issue with motion as other have stated. I watch mainly movies and very little sports.
