While drying a small load of clothes there became a burning smell. We always clean the lent trap after every load. The back grate inside the dryer was visibly burnt. We are waiting to see if it is repairable.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We purchased our dryer 16 months ago and started hearing a rhythmic thumping sound when the dyer was running at about the 13 month after purchase. Turns out the drum had a crack along the weld and that was making the noise on the roller. I called LG and they told me the warranty period had expired at 12 months and they would not give me an exception. I did some more research and found out the drum's warranty is 3 years, not 1 year. They said they will replace the part but not pay for the labor to replace it. I was going to use my own technician after the drum is sent but they seem to refuse to send me the drum and have been calling them for the last 3 months about it only to get nowhere. We also had issues with our LG front load washer since the day we got it. We decided to get rid of it after 3 years and went with a different brand and am so happy! LG has lost us as customers!

We’d like to clarify that while the standard warranty for parts and labor is one year, the drum is indeed covered under a separate parts warranty for up to three years. However, labor coverage ends after the first year, which is why there may have been a service charge offered. If the drum is being processed for replacement, please know that it should be shipped directly to you if arranged accordingly.
Regarding the thumping sound, this can sometimes occur when a dryer is not used frequently, or is in a colder area. In such cases, the rubber rollers that rotate the drum may temporarily flatten. Once the unit heats up during use, the rollers return to normal shape and the thumping should stop. The installers could barely speak English and asked for extra money for hose installation ALTHOUGH I PAID BEST BUY FOR INSTALLATION AND PARTS. Supervisor at Best Buy that handle installations ignored me and picked up dryer. I purchased same dryer from ABT who use their own install team. Best Buy contracts the work out!!! Done buy from Best Buy any appliances because they have installers demanding money from you when already paid!!!
