This drier has many good features, but the installation needs work. When My wife cleaned behind it, I notice that the clamps were not installed. Instead of venting to the outside of the house, all the dust was vented inside the laundry room.

Not the best choice, have had it for little over a year and its already giving problems, whats worse is that the warranty only covers any problems for a year.

I will never buy another LG appliance in my life time. After a 1yr & 1 month the dryer stopped working. I paid $865.99 for the dryer, unfortunately I didn’t purchase the warranty from Best Buy nor LG. The sensor keeps sounding off telling me to change the filter and will not stop until I unplug it. LG told me that Best Buy installed the wrong vent hose, Best Buy came out & changed it to a Rigid vent hose & it’s still not working. I’m getting the run around from LG, the last person I spoke with today said that it could take over 30 days before a 3rd party could fix it or LG replace it. DON’T WAIST YOUR MONEY

One of the best selling features was the “automatic sensor for automatic drying”. It doesn’t work. Clothes come out damp every time. We must manually dry every load for a long time.

The sensor dry function is garbage. Even if you increase the dryness setting, things still come out not completely dry after running the default settings. Not sure how energy efficient drying your clothes twice is? Some of the touch buttons do not respond well and gets frustrating trying to adjust whe doing time dry.

Bought this less than a year ago, and it worked beautifully, until one of its chips failed. LG promptly sent a technician, who said the part was on backorder. LG’s customer service is terrible—I’ve just learned this now—and their draconian policies mean that I may have to wait 30+ days before they can sort out a solution. This is because it is under manufacturer’s warranty, and the additional Geek Squad support cannot be used. What an awful limbo to be stuck in. Buyer beware of anything from LG. Terrible customer service, no way to speak with an empowered manager. Look elsewhere for more reliable products and service

Got this dryer about a year ago and it makes metal on metal noises. Now, best buy can’t replace this one (yes I have the warranty), so im stuck getting a mismatch dryer unless I want to pay for a new washer. I’ve talked with customer service for over 2 months to resolve this issue but I am being told basically to just settle for a lesser, mismatch dryer.

Hi, Justin. Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the LG Dryer (DLE7400VE) model. We understand your concern about dealing with a recurring noise issue and the challenges in resolving it with customer service. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations.

To address the metal-on-metal noise, we recommend checking for any loose or obstructed parts in the drum area. Sometimes, small objects or fabric can get caught, causing friction. Additionally, if the dryer’s internal parts such as the drum rollers or bearings are worn out, they could contribute to the noise.
