I originally purchased an LG Cherry Red TROMM Front Load Dryer in 2006 and had been a faithful client since then. The unit never needed to be serviced by LG or Best Buy. I wanted to upgrade for something a bit more modern and expansive... bad idea!
LG has taken a turn for the worst. This dryer is despicable. The "sensor" that detects moisture level of the clothes is gimmicky and when the dryer stops the clothes are still wet. The machine makes a disturbingly loud gnawing noise when operating. I had an LG tech come out and there was nothing they could do. Apparently, this dryer does not do well on tile floor... seriously?? It was recommended by LG I purchase "rubber feet" for the unit. I spent over $1300 on a dryer and yet I must accessorize it with "rubber feet" so it can operate optimally with no noise. HA! What a joke.
Lastly... you can tell this was a cheaply, cost cutting made machine. The metal is super lightweight... spare me the "modern metallurgy". Let's be real... LG cut corners and aims to maximize profit by selling this item at a premium cost.
As customary... LG will probably respond with their canned response of contacting their customer service.... blah blah. I will be returning these in favor of Whirlpool at Lowe's... I won’t be duped again!
