Great tv with trashy software

What's not working out for me is how trashy the webOS is. Why should I get bombarded with trash content and advertisements on the tv operating system? I paid over $2000 for this tv. I ended up getting a roku device and have been avoiding the os altogether. Regardless of whether you use the tv OS, it will constantly prompt the user to run an update. There is no way to disable this unless you disconnect it from the wifi. The embedded software/firmware is also a mess. There is a function that lowers the luminosity in dark scenes, only to turn back up abruptly in the next scene. It's distracting and unnecessary. You need a service remote to disable this function, which also apparently voids the warranty. I wish I had gotten a Sony.
