Easy to set up. Just plug into one of then USB ports on your computer or laptop. It is inexpensive and works on laptops, too, as many new slender laptops do not have cd drives. We just move it to the device we need it for as it is very portable.

Decent build quality. Low profile. Does the job well.

Was thinking of getting a google play stick, but saw that this can go online as well as play bluray and DVD for just double the price of the google device. All in all a solid piece of tech from LG! I would recommend this to friends and family.

This product is compact and easy to transport along with the laptop I bought it with which to use. Plays as well as if it were a part of the laptop. I like it.

this dvd drive is easy and simple to use. the set up was fast and directions are given along the way to help .it is also very durable, and not easily damaged. the prise of the dvd drive is a little high but compared to others is not that bad.

the external DVD writer will save on the wear and tear on my computer

I bought this because the internal DVD/CD read/write drive on my MacBook has been working erratically (mostly not at all). Rather than spend the great deal of money to have the internal drive replaced on this older laptop, I first bought the Apple drive. I found out after a lot of trouble (had to call Apple Support) that this only works on those MacBooks with retina display. So, I returned it and tried out the LG drive for half the price. It worked flawlessly through the USB port and iTunes had no trouble finding it. We'll see how long it lasts, but it was a more satisfying purchase than the Apple drive. The BestBuy staff member who suggested the Apple product to me should have been aware of the compatability problem (though it's not mentioned on the box nor in the documentation inside). Apple should make this apparent as well.

DVD player in my Mac laptop was broken. Rather than paying for an expensive repair I bought this. Great and inexpensive solution. Bonus is that it works perfectly with all other computers in the house, both Macs and PCs. Highly recommend.

Easy to use just plug and play...easy setup, plays all CDs and DVDs.

I bought this for an old computer the DVD burner was broken on that is still running Win XP so I didn't want to invest in fixing it due to it's age. Due to Win XP, it was very hard to install and would only work with an old installation of Nero. No other software would recognize it as a device. On a windows 7 computer it did install somewhat easier, but only worked 2 times. The 3rd time I tried in on windows 7, I started getting error's. Tried it back on windows XP again, same error's. I googled it and the error's are pointing to the laser already being bad/out of alignment. It was just past it's Best Buy return date so I set it on a shelf and gave up. It is just to cheaply made as it has not been dropped or anything to break the laser.

I wanted the ability to burn DVDs or CDs so this was a must for me.

I really enjoy the quality of the player, and how quickly it burns.

9 out of 10 I was hoping for a slightly longer cord than ~12inches.

my new lap top did not come with a disc drive, so i got this one.

I'm connecting this ODD to my Surface Pro 3 via the docking station and it works wonderfully to give me one of the features not in many, if not all, tablets.
