As a result, I needed a cheap external drive for installing software. This unit worked great. The unit is about the length and width of a standard CD jewel case. It is roughly the thickness of 2 CD jewel cases stacked. The unit is aesthetically pleasing to me. This device will handle CDs and DVDs. It will not play BluRay

Compact and a good match for ultrabook

Most ultra books don't have DVD drives and you may need one occassionally to load programs or watch a DVD. This one is small, light and thin like my ultrabook and shares the same black finish. Perfect.

Great low cost solution

This drive fits the niche perfectly and has worked like a champ every time I've needed to use it. The computer recognizes it almost instantly (after the initial driver install) and it works quicky and efficiently in performing my required tasks.
