Customer service assistance with this product was the selling point. They (customer service) walked me through the process of attaining the proper application necessary to operate my device properly. I am very pleased with my purchase and it was on sale. Double win.

I had to get this drive because my new notebook did not come with an optical drive. Drive connects via the attached USB cable. It is simple to connect, easy to use. Does what it needs to do.

This external DVD drive is an excellent piece of hardware to have when your in the go. If a drive is needed, you just plug it in and its ready to go. I would recommend this to a friend

This suits the purpose. I don't think I will use it often but it is the right size and only uses one usb cable unlike some others. It works well and seems well made for the price.

Since the trend is away from providing optical drives in laptops, this item comes in handy for creating backups, playing music, loading some software. So far it has done it's job. Not a lot of heavy use to determine durability.

I love that its external so that I can take with and use it with any pc. I am planning on seeing if it works with my surface tablet too. I got it when the drive in my pc all in one computer went bad.

Since my newest laptop doesn't have an internal DVD or CD drive, I had to purchase one. This one was very inexpensive and we are able to share one between my wife's laptop and mine without any trouble. Just plug it into a USB port and it is ready to go.

I love the portable dvd drive. It is easy to use, easy to install, and works like a charm. I love the fact that it is relatively small and you can take along without any time you want. The read and write speeds are adequate and a great value for the price.

This drive works as it should. Just a little flimsy when inserting a CD or DVD. But no problems! I just don't see why Drivers were needed to be installed for a USB device. Win 8.1 should have been able to do this automatically. That the only cripe I have.

Product works great, no problems at all. Would be better if the product had a bit more weight, sometimes when placing disk in, the drive pops up. Not problems otherwise.

Although not very expensive, was very disappointed to find out you have to buy the software for over $100 inorder to watch a DVD.

Wants to update software every time computer is turned on, will not allow anything else to run until you manually agree or decline. Otherwise, works as you'd expect. Consider a USB hub if you have few ports on your computer.

The LG SP60NB50 double-layer DVD±RW/CD-RW drive is thin and lightweight. Easy installation and works great. Good price. An excellent choice to replace a non-working internal drive or as a 2nd drive that can be shared amongst multiple computers.

From my small experience, this device is good. For the price, it includes a lot of features, Bluetooth, dlna, etc... For the cons, I bought the kit with 5.1 speakers which are just ok. And it has only one hdmi input.

I needed a rooter to replace one had. got it home and was told by Geek Squad did not need to replace the one had. so chose not to take it back but to hang on to it, in case need another one. they are like a Timex witch, keeps ticking on and on....

Plug and played! Out of package and viewing photos from my CD collection in about 10 minutes. And I rarely have that kind of luck, not very technical/computer literate.

Nothing ever works on my son's laptop so we have to keep buying stuff like this just so he can play 1 or 2 games he has on cd rom. So far it's worked but he hasn't been playing the games much anymore, go figure

Since almost no new high end computer comes with a CD drive anymore, this is a must have for the few times when you still need it. It's Windows/Mac compatible so regardless of the system you own it will work.

Used it as a replacement for another Samsung 3D player that was having issues and it worked with our existing speakers so I didn't have to re-route speakers. I will now put the other one in to be fixed and use it in our bedroom.

My CD drive in my computer stopped working and so I went and bought this external drive and it works great. Would highly recommend to anyone. Great value and great quality.
