The sleek Surface Pro 3 has no CD drive. This LG drive is the answer, it is economical and compact. It works great for loading your programs or wathing your library of movies.

I bought this item because, like most laptops out there, my Mac Air doesn't have a CD drive. Having the ability to play CD's and DVD's is great. It adds so much to my laptop.

It's a good value but I had trouble ejecting my library DVD. I tried the next day and it was ok. I ended up paying the late fee for returning the DVD late.

You no longer need the DVD component on a laptop. Reduce the weight but have the availability to use a DVD and record a DVD.

My laptop does not have a CD option so I bought this. It works so great. Just plugged it into my USB port and it worked great.

Since most computers don't include a built-in disk drive/DVD burner, this was recommended by the associate. Haven't used it you but it was the best deal.

Works fine, but after I bought it I realized it used more power than my tablet can support through the USB port. Needed a powered USB port to use it.

Bought this on clearance and hoped I didn't make a mistake. I didn't!

Laptops don't come with DVD players anymore and you don't really need one all the time. But, you do need it o install software that comes on discs.

I wish it had been noted at time of purchase of laptop that DVD� RW/CD-RW Drive was not included on laptop-would have purchased different computer

so lightweight I have to hold it down to press open/eject button. is reading some older disks that other readers wouldn't load let alone read.

This is an excellent product. You do not need an external power supply as it runs entirely off of the USB connection.

I liked this type of burner. Its great for my family and had zero problems with it. My daughter loves watching movies over and over again so it was a perfect buy

If you have disks that you need to upload to your apple computer this does a great job.

Couldn't run software on my new computer. The software Maker didn't have a program download from their mainframe, So I needed to get this DVD. It worked perfectly.

The DVD does a good job of writing and reading CDs and DVDs. The on thing different I would consider is buying one with Blu-ray capability.

I told the staff what I wanted and they gave this writer. I went on a trip and wanted to bs able to watch videos on my laptop. This device required the purchase of 70.00 in extra software in order to perform this function. I was really aggravated and may not return to best buy again.

My new Mac Air has no CD drive which is something I need for doing presentations. This was an affordable addition.

this product is great for the purpose that it was made but you have to keep it in an area where there is not tons of movement or it will skip
