this product is okay, it works for what I need it but seems a little flimsy. I am okay with it but in hind sight would spend more money for the one without the tray.

Don't know if it was the Toshiba laptop or Windows 8.1. Thinking the drive was defected, store personnel tried another drive (same model). Same results. Returned.

Was told, as well as was on the packaging, that this would be compatible with a MAC, but it was not. So I returned it within the 15 day period for a full refund.

Good external DVD player for the price. It would be good if it could be stood up rather than lying flat on the desk top.

I was told that this would work with my laptop however the laptop wouldn't recognize it. After troubleshooting to no avail, I returned it for a refund

Purchased for a daughter who has a convertible PC but lacked DVD player / writer. Works great however was very difficult to load software onto PC.

Purchased the drive and the hardware works great but can't use it as a DVD drive to watch movies without a dvd software. DVD software not included.

This is a pretty good portable DVD player. The only downfall it that the CD portion has a open and close function that does not seem very sturdy.

I bought this because I have already replaced the dvd player in my laptop once .this is much more convenient than replacing the internal HD

recieved open box then when i connect it connects to laptop but will not read a DVD/CD piece of junk then they did not want to exchange

Does not download the disk with the machine Took the 1st one back and the new one had the same problem Had to get the drivers off the net

Didn't work with Surface because it stated not enough battery power. Haven't had a chance to see if it works when Surface is plugged in.

Got this for music downloads. It works great for a computer that doesn't have its own drive.

Forgot I needed A DVD/CD player when I purchased my new laptop.. This does the trick. can use it when needed but not taking up space

Seems to work ok but with windows8 there is no control panel to access the features. When I plug it in it will let me see the files ok.

Does not work with laptop I purchased with it and when I purchased my laptop, this product came up but yet they are not comparable

This product seems to meet my needs thus far. However, this is my first portable DVD drive. Also, the price could be much lower.

Cheap and low quality DVD Player. If you are buying this for your Mac then spend the extra money and go with Apple brand.

Not sure how much is me not used to Windows 8 and how much is related to the amazing resolution and some applications inability to scale properly the DPID, but I'm getting frustrated with not being able to read things that worked well on my last machine. It is a beautiful machine and works fabulous in so many apps - but it is beyond frustrating when it doesn't work that I'm thinking of ditching it...
