Need an accessory drive for disk copying. This fills the bill.

I like it other than it keeps kicking me off the internet.

This product transfers images very very very very fast.

I haven't been able to get this item to work properly.

I told a customer rep I wanted a simple DVD player for my lap top, he recommended this product. I Was told by a bestbuy customer rep that this would play DVDs on my laptop. I bought it and hooked it up to my laptop. I followed all instructions and even had my tech savvy friends try to help me hook it up. Not sure if we just don't know what we are doing or if this product isn't meant to play DVDs. It was not a simple product at all and had multiple features that I did not want. I simply wanted a DVD player. It said it was compatible for windows 8, but it just simply wasn't working.

Wouldn't work correct and release disk or show up.

Difficult to set up, needed help from several people.

Quite flimsy, I don't know what else to say... ...

Id purchased a new laptop that didn't come with an internal CD drive so I bought this as an accessory. Concept is good, but it is so tiny and flimsy and it only worked when I held it up so I returned it.

Good for downloading CD's to your Samsung Laptop .

I was told by the salesperson this would play dvd's on the laptop I bought with it. It does not. After much research I found out It will not play a dvd on a computer or netbook with Windows Starter, Windows 8, or any computer that doesn't have a Media Player or other player installed. The small laptops without a dvd drive do not come with this software pre-installed. You can download applications from the internet that will work with advertising pop-ups, otherwise to purchase the program it costs more than the player. Had I known this beforehand I would have purchased a computer with a dvd drive in the unit. I am sure this unit would work on a unit that already has a player, but what's the point???

My notebook computer's optical drive quit working; I hoped that an external drive would allow me to read and burn DVD and CD. However, in order to be able to use the new external USB DVD device, it is necessary to load the driver for the device, provided on a CD. Not having a working optical drive, I was not able to use the USB connected drive. There was no information on the web site indicating that there must be a working optical drive on the computer, in order to be able to use the external drive. If there were a way to get an *.iso file of the drive, I would have been able to get the drivers loaded, using a virtual DVD drive.

Purchased this drive cause my newer 2 in 1 laptop did not have one built in. Looked at the prior reviews and seemed to be a fairly reasonably priced drive. Good enough for basic uses such as uploading programs and ripping CD's. Small, sleek and quiet when in use. Easy to install and use.

It is compact, disk runs okay, but most of the time I have to use the "eject" instruction to get the disk out instead of being able to push the button on the device.

Did not install well on my computer and had to have outside software to run the hardware. Product wasn't for me.

I wanted to be able to watch videos now that new laptops don't have a cd drive. overpriced and you have to subscribe for the video component

I am having trouble getting it to work. I called Geek Quad, followed their advice, and still no luck. Trying to use windows meadia.

Wife just got a new slim laptop that lacks a DVD drive as the industry standard now is no DVD in slim laptops. Needed to move some software had on last laptop bt they were on DVD. Got this to help but software was installed but couldn't find the drive on the computer making it useless. Finally took it back and got another model that was larger but it was found when I plugged it into the laptop

I have DVDs Blu-rays that I brought from abroad. They cannot be displayed on this device. Big disappointment
