This was an essential buy so my husband could view his DVD's on his laptop. It serves it's purpose...

This lets me do what I need to do. The core could be a little longer however. It work fine.

Because the Mac Mini doesn't have a CD Rom, I decided to purchase this so I could save things on discs and play movies. It works perfectly and is easy to use. It was a little tricky to figure out how to eject the disc (it is on the screen where the drive shows up).

This was laugh out loud funny. Nearly ruptured my spleen.

I bought to play PC games/DVDs . It installed my Sims 3. You need the disk running to play, but it doesn't want to load it. The sales person said it would play games, obviously not. Not sure if its faulty or if I was informed wrong. Waste of money. But its very light. Fairly quiet. Downloads software, just won't play DVDs/PC games. Its compact and great for travel. The cord is rather short, but long enough.

Product works, but the construction is flimsy. Since new laptops often don't have DVD drives, you have to buy something external. This will do the job if it doesn't fall apart.

Bought it on sale for $25. No setup necessary to read CDs and DVDs. Plugged it into my computer running Windows 8.1 and the system recognized the device.

After spending over 2 hours with LG customer support and running through a repeated series of installation, uninstalling, trying other computers, trying other software, the customer service reps hanging up on me (I was being very nice the whole time), the customer service rep blaming the software (even though it runs on my other computer), the customer service rep suggesting that the product is ok, even if it doesn't run software, because it will play music (even though that is not what I bought it for). Then he tells me to send it to him and he promises to send a replacement. Ummm.... with the magnificent customer service experience I had, I'm not sure I trust them to send a replacement. LG's customer service is a nightmare that offers a never ending cycle of angst and distress. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SPARE YOURSELVES!

It does what it is supposed to do. The only down side is that it is quite loud.

Not compatible with usb adapter. I have a new laptop/tablet with Windows 8.1. I plugged it in and it first recognized it with plug and play. Then it started blinking and disappearing. Troubleshooting with Windows and it said it didn't have drivers. I have the cd to download but it woulnt recognize the cd. I called LG at 18002430000. and they told me it was not compatible with an adapter for a micro usb. which seems ridiculous since so many new laptops don't have full usb. And they don't have built in cd/dvd. Back to the store it goes. any suggestions??? for a writer that is compatible.

This is a very good player for the money. Simple to use and set up. Basic but does the job.

Had to purchase this for my computer great buy Can't complaint about it.

A little flimsy, a little awkward to use, nothing special, it works as advertised.
