good for basic use and includes a few extras. I needed an external drive because my laptop doesn't have one. The video software was a nice bonus - even though I didn't think I wanted it now I am glad I have it now.

I've only used this once so far, but it seemed to work for its purpose. The installation seemed to go fine, but I think one of the other programs it installed on my computer keeps wanting to update every single time I turn on my computer which is annoying. I might have to uninstall that one. Besides that it works fine. My laptop didn't come with a cd/dvd drive so it's easy to just plug it in and go. I used it to install Microsoft Office and had no trouble.

I needed a simple device to connect to an old netbook when the drive on my laptop stopped working. I needed to rip a CD and make a couple of backup CDs. Served my purposes just fine. The laptop is now fixed, so this one will be a backup in case the internal drive fails again.

plug and play works well. I have a very old laptop with a slow processor compared to what's out today and the external drive worked very well. I haven't written onto any CDs or DVDs but I'm reading from other reviews that it's solid in doing so.

I bought a Mac mini and didn't want to buy the SuperDrive for $80+. This was 24.99 on deal of the day. It worked perfectly right out of the box with no driver needed. Have had no problems with it and it is very slim and has a tiny footprint on my desk.

Our old CD burner broke and we were looking for a replacement to download our wedding photos. This burner was so easy to use I was putting the pics on my computer 5 min after I plugged if up. Wish all of lg's products were this easy to install and use.

I bought this for my sister for Christmas as the laptop I got her didn't have a dvd drive. It's got good speed, handles bumps well and can write with decent quality. It's not going to win a lot of awards with what it can do, but for the home user it's a pretty decent product.

Works great, a little noisy but not too bad compared to others I have had in the past. I not having 2 cords and was easily accepted by my PC and Mac.

I have had this DVD player for a few months now and have been incredibly pleased with it. I had a Sony as my first DVD player years ago and then when that died went to Panasonic. When I decided to upgrade to a Blue-Ray player with Netflix access I knew I wanted to go back to a Sony because I loved that first player. And this one is no different. It is incredibly easy to set up and use. I wanted it mainly to have access to Netflix so it suits my needs perfectly. But I do like the fact that there are other apps on there if I ever want them like Amazon and Hulu. It was a good price for a great quality product that suits my needs.

Solidly built housing, compact, unobtrusive and works well. But the loading tray flexes a lot and the instructions for loading drivers from a supplied disk don't make much sense. If I had another working drive, why would I be buying this one? Load

The device works as advertised and is a decent value. I bought it with the intent to use it every once in a while and wanted portability. For that purpose this is great. If you plan to use it daily I would recommend a higher speed device.

I purchased this to go along with my all in one computer and I haven't had any problems. I just wanted something to be able to play discs or use a disc to backup my computer. Does not take up a lot of space and is easy to pack up and store.

This external cd drive is very light weight, which is great for those who travel a lot! It's works just as well as any other external cd drive I've own. Not to mention, Best Buy sells it for a great price!

Because I'm too cheap to upgrade my software I had to buy this little guy to load up my vintage version Microsoft Office. I haven't used it since, but I'm faithful it will perform admirably when called upon again in the foreseeable future.

This DVD R/W drive is inexpensive and easy to use. Simple setup, straightforward menu for making and copying DVD's. Very small and lightweight, simple USB connection.

Since laptops seldom come with a cd/dvd drive, I had to buy this so I could put some programs I have from disks to my new laptop. I hate that I have to spend the extra money to do this, but this drive served its purpose. It was easy to instal and very lightweight.

I purchased this external burner to pair with a laptop that did not have an internal burner to burn dvds of family videos. It works great. I also plugged it into my desktop computer and burned copies of the disc form burner to burner.

The first time I tried to use the product I didn't realize that you had to install it on the computer with the included disk. I had just assumed that you just plug in the USB cord and insert whatever disk you want; that it just worked right away. But after figuring out that that was not the case and installing the software everything worked just fine. Works just like a regular disk drive except I can unplug it when I'm not using it.

I have no complaints about this product. It does everything it said it will with no issues what-so-ever. I simply needed it to get some previously owned software into a "yoga". With that being said....I'm not using it to watch movies or anything like that so.....

Wow, this device was not only inexpensive, it performs very well. I used it several times and can't believe how easy it is to use...for around $25. Not too shabby!
