needed an external dvd burner for my laptop and decided on this one because of price and features. Excellent purchase considering my requirements and highly recommend it

I purchased this DVD RW / CD RW Drive to work with a new MacBook computer. As advertised, this product was truly plug and play with no troubles.

This external optical disc drive is the perfect companion for modern laptops that do not feature a built-in disc drive. It is extremely convenient to connect it when needed and disconnect it for regular use and travel.

This external DVD drive is very efficient when I need to use it. I like having an external drive because then I have the luxury of using a lightweight computer. I really like how slim the external drive is. Occasionally, when I want to watch a DVD or download software from a CD, then it's a simple process to simply plug into my laptop's USB port. Apparently, it also burns disks. I haven't done that yet.

My $1300 iMac did not come with an extremely important component. A CD-Drive! Instead of paying $80 for apples, I opted for this, works flawlessly, no drivers or anything to configure, just hook it up to a USB port.

I bought this as my new laptop did not have a drive and i had to load some previously purchased software. It was easier to do that with the discs I had an this was a low cost / low hassle way to be able to do that.

Since I have an ultrabook, I needed to buy an external CD/DVD drive to burn CD's, play DVD's, etc. The design is sleek and it's pretty quiet for the most part. Plays CD's and DVD's and burns them with no problem.

This was a product I needed on the spur of the moment and happened to find at a good price. I hadn't been looking for something very feature heavy and this model stood out as simple enough. I can't say I've had any complaints. It reads discs about as fast as my laptop's internal reader (which broke a while ago, hence this purchase) and isn't so bulky that it's a chore to carry around when I need it. There aren't any additional drivers or software that needs to be installed for the device to be compatible. It's a simple plug-in-and-go, recommended for anyone who's laptop doesn't come with a reader. The only complaint I have is that it feels a little cheaply made, like if you press down a little too hard (not hard at all) the internal structure will cave in.

The DVD works well and is small and light. I like the fact that it needs no power source besides the USB port required for data transfer It fits on top of my Dell All in one computer base making it nearly invisible.

My 12 year old grandson installed it. He says it works. I installed Ancestry with it so he must be right. Not sure why it keeps asking for it when it is in a drawer until I need it again.

Purchased this for my surface pro that doesn't have CD/DVD player. Easy to install and use. ** If you want to watch movies in media player you will have to buy the app extension from Microsoft for the surface pro.

I bought this because my new laptop has no CD rom drive and I needed one for school. This worked great to what I needed it for and it was also great in the size when it came to traveling.

My optic reader went out on my old Macbook Pro so got this to replace those functions. Its small (great for carrying in computer bag) and plays and burns dvds and cd's like a champ. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought a laptop for dirt cheap and didn't realized it didn't have a CD/DVD drive until I got it home. For only $40 this drive works exceptionally well and is fast considering it connects with a USB 2.0 cord.

Obviously this is a very light portable did drive. I wish is was Blu-ray as well but for the price I am not complaining. It operated fine, I've watch 4 movies and added about 20 can to my laptop without fail.

I bought a laptop without a hard drive, so I purchased this to go with it. It is a little noisy but works fine. I have not tried out the burner yet. The software that comes with it is junk though. They only give you 5 uses or 30 days (I cant remember which) to use their stuff before you buy it. I purchased the hard drive, the software should come with it.

I bought this to use with my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and it's perfect! This is so light and portable, making it convenient and easy to take with me when I need it.

This external drive works excellent with CD. Also, it plays videos with superb color and the volume is excellent. There is a plug for connecting headphones and earphones. The design of this laptop is superior.

setup was quick and easy! haven't used it to much yet since got mainly for my trip with my one year old and 3 yr old coming up on a 7 hr plane ride but the set up was easy and we tested it out and it worked!

I bought a laptop and didn't realize until I got home, that it didn't have a CD/DVD drive.. Purchased this one and I am very satisfied with its performance.
