Used to record tv shows for later as Im not giving the cable companies more $$$ for a dvr. Just need to supply a tuner or video source.

I needed this after the CD/DVD player on my laptop went out. At $50 this was a lot cheaper than installing a new one in my laptop for at least $100. In my experience when you send your laptop in for repair it gone for at least a month and it's hard to do without it for that long. It works fine if I just need to listen to a CD or watch a DVD. I would like to be able to burn a CD and cannot figure out how to do it on the external drive. I would like to know if I could hook it up to my smart TV and watch a DVD on my TV but don't know if I can do this. I would have appreciated a small instruction book but there was none. It's rather akward having an extra item to plug into the laptop. It was not the cost, but the time I would have to be without the laptop that kept me from sending it in to be replaced. In retrospect I would have sent it in and be done with it. So much more convenient.

I bought this drive to have an external dvd drive for my mac. Easy set up and so far has worked perfectly. Great product and great price.

I have a Mac which does not have a cd\dvd player and I wanted to rip some CDs. So I bought this cd\dvd drive. Works great for my needs!

This external drive works very well and is slim for easy storage. I liked mine so much that I purchased another for a Christmas present.

Being someone who likes to push the envelope, I have so far used this on an old Macbook that the DVD was no longer working in, a windows 7 laptop, and a Linux (CentOS) laptop. Just for fun I also tried it with a Galaxy Note (10.1 tablet) and a 7" windows 8.1 tablet (both tablets with an OTG cable) It worked great in every case. Very nice and compact.

This is a great attachment for any laptop or even a desktop computer, writes dvd`s in a decent time frame. Great value and not to loud.

My laptops do not have CD readers, so I bought this one. It is a little bit noisy but overall it's very convenient.

I first bought an Apple external drive which didn't work. When I returned it I was told I could get a less expensive unit that would work just fen. Great save money sure! Well it worked great. I was able to hook it up easily and it worked right away!. I would highly recommend this.

Who would have thought LG makes a portable DVD drive? It is awesome and cheaper then competition by $30. Way to go LG and Best Buy!!

With most computers not having a dvd player now this is a inexpensive accessory to purchase
