Good item for low usage

If you are not doing a lot at once or are not in any hurry this is well worth the money. If you are not patient or do not have a lot of time you will want to purchase a more expensive one. Used it three or four times and so far has always done the job.

better than paying too much

I wanted my kids and wife to be able to watch the occasional DVD on their MacBook Airs, or use a DVD for verification on Digital Copies. We still have a few older games that use discs as well, but the need for a DVD drive is so rare, I really didn't want to invest in one. I've also had a lot of problems with other LG devices, so I wasn't crazy about this being the only option in the store for less than $50. This device does work as intended, which is more than I can say for most of my experiences with LG, so that's good. It has a very lightweight and cheap feel, but again, that is offset by the price.
