this unit is priced well below some of the others such as Apple's and does a pretty good job. I can play movies on the computer and download any software from a disc. I am not sure if it plays Blu-ray or not. I don't use them so it doesn't matter to me. Overall it performs well and does what I need it to do.

I liked this drive a lot, definitely suited my needs. The price difference in computers with/without a disc drive can be steep, so this was my answer to that-- which allowed me to get the less expensive and sleeker laptop I wanted and use this device when I needed a disc drive. I recommend price comparing though!!

This is a great unit...inexpensive & works great! I purchased a new laptop without an optical drive, then almost immediately I had to load software from DVD. This unit does the trick quickly & cheaply.

I have to say, since most laptops don't come with a cd drive, this external cd/ dvd drive is very useful. It's incredibly light and easy to use. I am one happy customer :)

Bought this as the burner on my computer was no longer working properly as it is too old. This solved all the problems that I was having. It is simple to set up and easy to use. Very slim in design.

The LG SP60 Portable DVD writer was the perfect solution for me. I needed an external DVD drive to load the OS on some mini laptops that didn't have internal drives. This was the perfect solution for me. It worked without issue right out of the box. It was plug and play, and my BIOS recognized it right away. I had no issues with it. Some other reviewers complained of the USB cable being too short, but I found it to be just the right length. It attaches to the drive with a micro USB connection so if you need to you can always get a longer cord. At the great price this unit is going for it is definitely worth every penny. Don't hesitate, grab this great product today. You will not regret it.

Purchased this LG Drive with my new Acer Aspire R-14 laptop/tablet as an alternative to buying a laptop with a drive installed. Works fast and is an awesome accessory.
