These are the greatest external drives we have had. if your looking for a great working drive stay away from the slim ones. We have had several of them and they do not last. This one is great. Thanks

My laptop does not have an internal cd drive. This should be a good alternate to my laptop. Haven't used it yet, but hopeful. It does however, ask you each time if you want to allow the LG to be on your computer. LG is the maker.

It is a DVD drive works well, no issues on Mac. Good value

It was plug and play ready. I was able to play a DVD and get it installed onto a computer that had no installed drive. Very easy to use.

This is a perfectly fine little CD/DVD burner for a laptop or netbook. Works fine and is small enough to carry with your netbook in a case.

Bought this to pair with a Lenovo laptop that does not have an optical drive. Works just like any other CD/DVD ROM drive. Easy plug and play with Windows 8.

We bought this drive because the computer we recently purchased did not have one built in. The drive attached easily and the software loaded ok. We downloaded and installed the LG updates, however every time we boot up the computer, the LG software is requesting to be updated again. This does become annoying. It is a serviceable external drive, but we still prefer factory built-ins. I would recommend this, but not emphatically.

I neede an external optic drive for my MacBook Air. Compared to ones on Amazon, this was actually more affordable and efficient. Also very slim and portable.

Bought this for my small notebook that had no optical. Works flawlessly off the USB port. Gets enough power to run. Fits easily inside my computer carry bag.

I bought this cd drive to use for backing up music onto CD's. It works well and backs up my music files. It's a little noisy cause it's sitting directly in front of me and it's not the fastest, but I couldn't beat the price.

Works as advertised. Very thin and light wieght for portability. The sales person heard me talking and gave me the last one per his reccomendation. Great pick.

This small drive permitted me to load the software that I needed onto my new computer with no difficulty. It attached through one of the ports and activated with no problem. When I was finished with it, all I had to do was to unhook it and that was that. No special code to enter, no hard to follow protocol. Just plug it in and you are set to go. Perhaps I found this easy to work with because it was a familiar type of drive.

I like this RW/CD-RW Drive. I have the ability to play DVD's, download DVD's, or record information of my tablet, giving me the opportunity to use my tablet as a desktop.

I had to get one since my mac book pro quit on me. Bought a new mac mini and it doesn't have a CD slot. Purchased it to be able to read my customer's CDs and DVDs. I haven't yet used RW but will do that soon to have a copy of my backups just in case.

This is an inexpensive option for my small laptop without a dvd player. Only tried it once, but it does work. I like the fact that it's very compact. I did have to download an app - VLC Media player - in order to play a dvd.

Not sure if it's a codex problem or a problem with the physical player but it works ok but not great for some of my dvd's. It's thin, so can packet it and take it along easily

A little confusing at first if i needed software disk provided, tried to execute off it but it failed. Then just used disk to read /download turbotax and it work just fine.

bought it for wife's new hp touchscreen laptop. easy to install and work great with windows 8. included software not very useful though.

The CD drive is a perfect solution to the laptop with no drive. It was simple to install, and it works great for all my CDs and DVDs.

I thought that the included software would allow me to view media files - I was wrong. I had to download separate software to enable use of the reader to view media files.
