Much less expensive than replacing the internal drive on my wife's Macbook Pro. Given how often we use CDs and DVDs, space is better spent on another laptop hard drive.

Bought this hard drive to go with my ASUS Surface Pro computer because it did not have a hard drive. Don't need it much, but this device is awesome to have available..

I used to have a very bulky external drive. This one takes up barely ny room and works great!

I've never had to purchase on of these, but my new laptop does not have a CD port so I had to purchase one separately. I've only used it once, but it gets the job done.

This device saved us money so we could use DVD's and CD's without having to buy a more expensive laptop that had an internal drive. Unfortunately, our 4 year old printer was too old to be compatable so we couldn't install the printer (primary reason for purchasing the add on device). But it was very easy to install and use so I would recommend to anyone if you're using it to install items comapatible with your laptop.

Since most laptops no longer come with a CD/DVD drive but I knew I still wanted one, this was a great choice. Got a discount when purchased with laptop. Would buy again.

Purchased to use with my mac which does not have a dvd or cd drive. Connects easily and it works fine with both my pc and my mac. and great addition for the surface, too. The price was very competitive.

the DVD reader/burner in my laptop gave out a year ago. I purchased the previous model & had good results. However, after a year's constant use, the first one I purchased literally fell apart. This is the second one that I've purchased and I'm pleased to say that it is more compact; there is only 1 USB plug (whereas the older model had 2); and the pieces that broke & fell apart in the older model no longer exist.

This item is not very user friendly on the software end of things. I felt as though I was pushed to buy this player or that just to get it to work on Windows 8.1 I finally ended up uninstalling the software that came with it and installing a different player. I do like that it is small and portable.
