Couldn't find my old external DVD, so had to get a new one. Went down to Best Buy and looked at the assortment of external DVD's offered. I use the external drive on an infrequent basis and this was a cost effective solution. Easy to set up and use.

Unfortunately many laptops,today don't come with a DVD drive. This is a really good cost effective way of,adding a DVD to a laptop.

Love my new computer, but it does need an external disc drive if I want to play music or load older games, etc .

for the money spent this was the best choice. it does what it is supposed to and is small enough i can easily tote it around with me

Very fast and I love how quite it is while trying to burn cds.

Quickly burn your movies and music to disc, double-layer DVD-RW drive, overall maximum DVD write speed of 8x not the fastest for data replication but dose a good job. The slim design makes the drive easy to transport and to miss place if you don't keep it close to your computer.

I would rccomend this portable DVD/CD burner to anyone what's to burn on the go. It's very lightweight. & will fit conviently in a laptop bag or any other carrying case. Also will make a good back-up burner or a main burner for computers without one.

i have not used it yet, but so far just plugging it into my laptop apple it should be compatible and work fine

I bought a new PC and didn't realize that I purchased it without a DVD/CD drive! Oh no! So I went to my favorite Electronics store and there was the LG - 8x External Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive! Oh yes! An inexpensive drive that easy fits in your computer bag and goes where ever your PC goes with a USB cord!

It is small and easy to connect and discnnect from the laptop.

If you buy an Ultrabook, there is no CD/DVD writer or player. If you want to load music from CD's or software from a disc, then you need an external drive. This one works for the downloads but the setup could be simpler. I get a message asking for permission to make a change to my PC for the LG drive several times per hour and can't get rid of it despite approving it every time.
