I neede to get a cd player to record my cd collection. My Mac Mini has no cd port. Planning to recrd quite a Library.

Most I like about this product is I can plug it into my tv usb port and play the videos directly.

This is a great addition to the newer laptops not equipped with an internal drive. With most newer laptops trying to compete with the tablets they are trying to make them thinner and lighter so they have eliminated the drive and force you to purchase an external drive. This was on sale so I didn't mind paying the extra for it.

This DVD player initially could not play DVDs or CDs which made it more than worthless. I spent hours online trying to find the problem and called the company. However, I finally drove to the store with my Laptop, waited for help, then the Geek Squad Associate spent over 45 minutes chasing down via the web software that made it work. Now it is fine.

I have had two of these things. The first one was a graduation gift and it had a warranty on it but it would never play my DVDs or CDs on my computer (I checked, it was definitely compatible) and one day the little front piece just fell off! So I go in to get it replaced, thinking maybe that one was just faulty, and they couldn't replace it for me for some reason. I wasn't happy and argued with the store manager for a bit but to no avail. Since I needed it for school work, I caved and just bought a new one. I brought it home to watch a DVD on my computer and the same thing happened, it only plays DVDs and CDs half the time (it's very moody) and when it does work, you can't skip to the next scene or fast forward because it will totally freeze and freak out. The plastic front piece hasn't fallen off of my new one yet but if it does I will not buy this product again. I doubt I got two faulty products, and I take very good care of them so I'm not sure what the problem is.

it could be a little better but for the price it is good enough

Works very well with my small Dell laptop. I was able to install software I own. It is small and easily transportable. I received a discount because Best Buy found a lower price elsewhere. Along with my Best Buy Reward Points, it was a great bargain.

I bought this for a small laptop that had no CD/DVD drive, and it's just what I hoped for: easy USB connection with included cable; super slim--even fits in the pocket of my laptop's protective sleeve; great for music CDs, watching movies on DVD, and loading software. So far, after one month, it is working flawlessly.

Excellent device when utilizing a tablet computer to provide the full scope of computer access!
