I had to watch a dvd for class and unfortunately my Mac laptop did not have a CD input so I bought this LG drive and it was great for what it’s supposed to be used. The only thing that might be a drawback is that it can be noisey but it’s not too bad.

Wanted the ability to copy my CDs and play my DVDs on my new Laptop. This one hit all the marks. Runs quietly.

I purchased the writer as my new laptop did not have one. I needed it for burning cd's and dvd's. It uses the USB from the laptop to power up. It does a good job however it is extremely slow. Plan on spending some time burning onto a blank DVD. It suffices for my needs.

As usual I am working through a new Apple product. The sweeping motions don’t always work and moving from one sight to another seems complicated most of the time. Is nice to not have to push a button all the time.

Decided to take the leap from cable and chose this unit to let me test the alternatives. Impressive video and audio. Hard to imagine that this is all being delivered to the set via wifi. Pleased with my choice and the experiment continues.

I needed a CD burner for my recording studio and a way to transfer large files from my old pc to my new workstation data. This filled my needs admirably.

The DVD drive included with my PC is a minimalist thin drive. This drive gives me greater read/write speeds and a full array of discs to use. CD/DVD, etcetera.

Cost efficient in an environment where discs are becoming extinct and no longer on laptops. It's necessary to have though with my job, so this worked well and was easy to use.

Step up from a Windows based laptop! My first Apple computer. A change in operating systems that will take some getting used to, but I think it will be worth the extra effort. The only thing I didn't like, I had to buy an external CD drive. Other than that, so far so good! Lovin' it!

I can't believe computers don't come with these anymore. This is fine.

Thought this would be plug and play but it wasn't! I had to try several apps to find one that worked with this device and my HP Envy. All good now but frustrating!

The laptop is efficient and I love the way the keys light up to make it easier to type in the dark. My store experience was remarkable because my RSA was knowledgable about the different products which made it easy to pick one that met all my needs!

This LG External Drive works great once you figure out how it works. It didn't come with an owner's manual or even a one-page instruction sheet on how to use it. Thinking that it opens like every other external DVD+RW/CD-RW drive that I have ever owned, I almost damaged it trying to open it. I had to go on you.tube and watch several videos before I found one that showed me how this thing worked. Because of this lack of customer support, I can only give this device a 3 star rating.

I bought it for a windows tablet, but the tablet wasn't powerful enough to run it. I then hooked it up to the tablet using a powered USB hub and then worked fine.

Works great, I have owned for 2 yrs and have not had any problems with it. Seems to be good quality and works perfectly for my needs.

I really like my Dvd player. We watch alot of movies since we no longer have a sattelite company

I’m glad there isn't a tray on this drive, it's slot loading a tray is just another part to fail. Great drive but I'd have preferred receiving the Power DVD software instead of the editing software.
