However I feel less comfortable placing the media in a slot. If the ejection mechanism fails I don't know how to get the disk out without using and axe.

I was told this machine would do that. When I brought this product home and set it up to my HP Pavilion hard drive, it would not open. I called Geek Squad and was on the telephone for about 45 minutes. The agent tried everything she could, but it still would not open..... I finally had to return the device.

So far it works for programs but I couldn't get it to play DVDs. But it could also be operator malfunction

I was hoping it was more a plug and play device, but had a few more steps.

A little more labor intensive but now I have plenty of extra storage + backup capability. Cleaning out old CDs so also using it to upload to iTunes Library.

I was assured by the store clerk this would work with windows 11. I could not even open this to insert a Cd and it was not recognized in windows. i won't even go to LG support based on my experience yesterday. I'll just go with a SONY blue ray play player that has Wi-Fi and apparently can be accessed from my PC remotely. LG is good with big devices, but they appear to have neglected computer products.
