This is a good basic DVD writer that millwork with a variety of formats. I purchased it to use with my Mac products (Macbook Pro, iMac) in the hopes that I could erase DVD-RW discs. That doesn't seem to be possible, though.

my new computer didn't have a dvd/cd drive. This was good alternative at a reasonable price that allowed me to load older software I have on CDs.

Bought this to provide DVD capability for my wife's new Surface 4. Works as expected with no problems to date - several weeks. We've only used it to load programs from CD's / DVDs so far.

Gets the job done for all I need. I use it primarily for a second backup and watching videos. LG is a solid brand

This is a great product for the Mac. Auto-identifies and works on both Mac OS and Parallels desktop for Mac. Smooth and quick for file transfers between both drives and no problems so far

The product it's self was as described and fulfilled my needs. The original product had to be returned because the sales associate gave me the wrong information for my specific computer.

The writer connected to my Mac laptop with no problems. It is a bit slow to write, but works fine.

When I ordered my laptop, I didn't realize it did not come with a cd drive. My hard drive died on my old computer, and I needed to transfer information .

Worked great. I replaced in internal DVD-ROM that no longer worked on an iMac. I have only read DVDs, I have yet to write to them on this drive.

I couldn't find the way to make it work in any of my lap tops. I think that it requires of more explicit directions. I tried several times, but gave up because I'm too busy to keep on trying. I work a lot with technology and I know how to use both Mackintosh and Windows, but the directions were not accessible enough.

I purchased an external DVD drive for my mac books however I have been having issues with it so I decided to try LG. Come to discover it does not work with my mac books. I have yet to try it with my IMac.

Was told by sales rep. that I needed it because the computer I was buying didn't have that option. Got home unboxed the computer realized it had the dvd/cd writer. Will be returning.

If you like playing video games and you don't mind not having a built in DVD or CD drive then this is a perfect computer. Downloading is quick picture screen quality for video games is very good like the conuter

Loved the solid state hard drive on my computer, but could not use DVD's. This allow me to install programs via a DVD and to watch movies

Excellent product, works great, would recommend to anybody needing a stand alone disc player.

I bought a new Dell laptop that didn't have a DVD/CD optical drive. I chose this one primarily because it was on sale and it looked cooler than the standard LG CD/DVD drive that Bestbuy sales.

I use this external drive for burning CDs, and for creating discs of family pictures for my vault (as a back up to the cloud).

This DVD drive does what it's designed to do. My new laptop did not have a DVD player in it. I needed it to install some programs. It works exactly like it should

Need an external drive to go with new mac pro. Same color, so wife wanted this one.

It’s a mobile cd drive plays dvds I think. My Mac didn’t have one built in so this was a cheap solution
