Great purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as needed. Good price and have no complaints. Love the fact that it doesn't have a tray that ejects and just sucks in the disk.

Plug and play for Mac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plugged it in and fired right up, quickly uploads content from DVDs. Had to ask Best Buy rep to look up functions (Blu-ray compatible or not - it's not BTW), because NOTHING is listed on the carton package. If it continues to function properly (only a test of time), it's a fair alternative to the name brand external drive for a better price. Haven't had a chance to put it through the paces of everything I'll need to use it for - installing software, creating backups, burning DVD video projects for clients who are not yet cloud savvy/accessible. My household is still reliant on a DVD drive to play movies on the computer during travel until all of our library is converted to digital content.

Easy to use optical drive
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this back in May of 2021. I haven't had to use it until now (Jan. 2022), so I wasn't able to write a review until now. It's super light, easy to use, and quiet. The laptop I bought when I bought this item didn't come with an optical drive, but I was able to install all of my software without one. I just upgraded 2 other desktop computers that did not have optical drives either, and I did need the drive to install some software. This came in handy.

Works pretty well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drive works most of the time. I have trouble with it loading cds of music with several errors occurring. It is quiet put I notice I have to reload cds and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It was less expensive than the Apple product by about $50. For that reason I gave it a good review. Otherwise if it was compared side by side I would expect Apple drive to be better but I don't know. I bought this to use with my new iMac that no. longer comes with a cd drive. I don't know if I would recommend it.

Thin portable but needs extra software
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my computer did no come with a DVD burner/player. I love the thin sleek portability of this product. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because when I went toBestBuy to purchase the sales clerk said I would have NO problem playing my commercial DVD's on this product...WRONG you have to have an app like VLC installed to play them. I have Windows 10 so the media player would not even play DVD's with this product. Otherwise LOVE IT!

External CD-DVD
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The box said it worked with Mac. However I did have to buy an adapter as Mac does not accept USB-A. Once connected the product has worked as advertised and was easy to use.

Great Player, Poor Set up Instructions
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DVD player itself is great. The set up however, left a lot to be desired. Full instructions would have been beneficial, but, thankfully I came up thru the school of hard knocks in the computer world when we typed in DOS commands. I knew enough to look for the executable files to find the right one for the setup. Don't expect all users to be experts in software or to have the knowledge to know where to look for the info.

Tricky but good
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent product. I had some difficulty with the software running the machine but just uninstalled and reinstalled & whatever glitch happened fixed itself. For some reason to i can't get it to burn disks. It reads & i can transfer from disk to my laptop but i can't burn anything from my laptop.
