Must have accessory for some new laptops that don't have DVD player built in. You could use the USB but it's less painful when you just add this affordable external DVD. It's small and portable...just put in your laptop bag when you're on the go.

So far I have only used this to burn a DVD and it worked well.

This compact disc drive is a great disc drive. Its very compact and light weight. Its is so light weight that it almost feels like its going to break, it is actually pretty sturdy despite that. Linked right up with my new laptop and started using it right away.

I love this peripheral for my Toshiba Portege that has no CD/DVD drive internally. It was easy to buy online, then pick-up in the store that day, as well as install and use it. It is based on plug-n-play, so it was a snap to install and use.

I bought an expensive one and could not be recognized by my old computer. I went and exchanged it for this one and even my old computer recognized it. It works great!!!

It was very easy to set thus up but with everything it had a ton of extra stuff it wanted to download too that you will never need or use.

Exactly what I needed for an external reader/writer. Most of my data backup is via hard drive, but it's nice to have the speed capability for burning if necessary.
