    The DVD driver works smoothly with my mac. I don't burn any disc yet, so I cannot review about fastness of the player; however, it is quiet, and good for budget buyers.

    My internal DVD drive stopped working, and it seemed cheaper and easier to replace with an external one. This had good reviews, was fairly inexpensive and seems to do the job well. Left off one star because I haven't had it long enough for problems to show up.

    This DVD drive was the cheapest one I could find. It works, but is a little slow and skippy. It also has problems playing slightly scratched discs that my other computer and playstation can play with no problem. It's also a bit loud. I only use it when I have to. It's not bad for the price, but if you can afford a better one, I would suggest you choose something else.

    Nowadays, the need for an optical d\rive is virtually nonexistent, but there are always those exceptions. This drive looks and workks great with my Macbook Pro, couldn't ask for much more.
