    Door Ice Maker Cooling Fan Quit within a year

    Within a year, the door icemaker cooling fan went out. Contacted LG, they sent me to Geek Squad. I haven't been able to get Geek Squad to schedule service and my 2 yr EXTEDNDED warranty started when the 1 yr manufacturer warranty started instead of after it ran out, so now i have no warranty. I have not had good experience with Geek Squad repairs on multiple issues and I will never buy LG appliances or anything Best Buy again. Geek Squad is in a foreign county (they cannot reveal the location when asked) and you cannot contact a local company to discuss the issue. Horrible customer service.

    Toxic ice cubes

    Absolute garbage. Top of the line LG??? I want my 25 year old refrigerator back. Three types of ice, all toxic! Forever plastics anyone? Best Buy has been out and LG also, neither will do anything. They call it hard water, but hard water doesn’t settle to the bottom as the ice melts, u only see when the water evaporates. Why did my prior refrig not do that also. Why can I make cubes in a tray and no white plastic particle? The only think that changed is the refrig. Pics are from melting many cubes… would u b ok drinking this over a months time. I’m not.

    Fridge is fine, ice makers will break/be defective

    I bought this fridge back in Aug 2024, mostly for the craft ice makers. it is VERY expensive and I was told LG had one of the best brands for longevity. after about 6 or 7 months of ownership, all three different ice types (craft, mini, and in door) started having a really bad taste and leaving particles in my water. I have Total Tech, so I called bestbuy (who did the install), they then made me call LG myself since it was still under a year, and LG blamed bestbuy saying they put in the wrong waterline. Best buy refused to acknowledge that and said install repair only has a warranty of 90 days so they made me pay AGAIN to install a new water line. The guy that puts in the new water line says this wont fix anything, i need a tech agent. he calls to advise that and whoever works at best buy didnt believe him and was rude to both him and myself and hung up. fine, let this line go in and call back myself. done. fast forward a week, still the same issue. I call, my one year with LG is up, and then best buy says they will send out a tech guy, they charge me like $100 to send out the guy despite all the warranties. very nice tech guy, he has no idea what is causing the issue so he orders all new ice maker parts and a new filter (I had changed that), and replaced it. Great. the bad taste is gone, but now the sphere ice maker is sending out deformed/half spheres and broken pieces out only. I call best buy again so they can check it out. after being shuffled around, the lady asked me if I unplugged the fridge since geek squad came out. to avoid over the phone trouble shooting, I lie and say yes, and it didnt help. she then comes back and says since I unplugged the fridge I voided the all warranties and they can charge me another $100. They made me do all this trouble shooting on my first call and I was trying to avoid because I was calling during my lunch break. All this to say, big fridge, holds a lot, it smudges like CRAZY, and the ice maker is CRAP, and Best Buy is now the WORST phone customer service I have experienced. Planning on canceling total tech as soon as possible. Such BS. TLDR: Fridge is fine, ice makers will break or be defective, expect 0 to no help from LG and Best Buy.

    Delivered August 19, 2023, problem August 21, 2024. Warranty is a generous 366 days (if a leap year). So my $3000 refrigerator needs a repair at 368 days. No mercy from customer service. It's all on me. As to the features- I never use the window, don't use the extra door. The in door ice maker drips in the summer (works as intended when checked). The round ice is neat but limited to 3-6/day. Just a big mistake.

    Fridge is good but Bestbuy online sucks !!!

    THIS COMPLAINT IS SOLELY REGARDING A BEST BUY ONLINE PURCHASE NOT IN STORE WHICH APPARENTLY IS SEPARATE! We bought a fridge almost a month ago, it came but the driver left with the fridge due to our house being on a slight hill, he didn't want to bother trying to get the truck up there, then best buy didn't communicate that we have a built in fridge, it arrived ( with the same size truck as the first one mind you) the guys delivered no problem but couldn't install as they weren't the RIGHT TEAM to uninstall a built in fridge, finally the right guys came ( 2 weeks later) but after taking it out of the box, we noticed there were dents, week later they send us the replacement fridge once again best buy not communicating with the 3rd party , who once again didn't look over the original notes of the house being on a hill and left with our replacement fridge!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to call and reschedule for the 4th time ! Best Buy nor the 3rd party ( I think called RXO) can't seem to get their S together, I'm never buying bestbuy online again! P.s we did get some compensation, but not enough in my opinion consideration all the stress and frustration!!!

    Paid a ton of monery for terrible tasting ice

    Dealing with the same issue that multiple ithers are. Fridge operates fine and looks great but the ice TASTES LIKE PLASTIC. We have tried multiple new water filters, replaced the water line (even though best buy required a new one purchased with fridge), dumped TONS of buckets of ice, emptied the entire fridge to let it air out, scrubbed it with baking soda and nothing works.the water tastes great but the ice does not at all. Highly disappointing because we bought this fridge due to our last one not having ice at all so now we have spent thousands of dollars only to be without ice again. The irony is that this fridge makes 6 djfferent kinds of ice and they are all terrible tasting. READ THE ONLINE FORUMS, ITS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTIONS FROM LG. Shame.

    Stay away from LG customer service NIGHTMARE

    One of the worst purchases I’ve ever made in my life. Although the fridge looks nice and has nice features, it quickly crapped out on us and customer service is absolutely atrocious. After approximately 4-5 months of calling numerous times per month we are in the same place and we are still getting the runaround from LG, and in fact, my last phone call when I was connected to a supervisor they hung up on me. They have no reasonable solution. They say a part is needed. However, it is back ordered and they cannot tell me how long it’ll be before the part will be available and they have no other solution to fix the issue. They absolutely refuse to replace or pick up/refund this non-functioning unit. I have had hundreds of dollars of food spoiled, we have had to purchase a standalone freezer. Best Buy states they cannot help either as now it is a manufacture issue and we must deal with LG. Again issues started approximately four months after our unit was delivered and we are going on 4 to 5 months of the same issues/unreliable cooling (frequent failing to the point of food spoilage). I will never purchase an LG product again simply because if there’s an issue their customer service will not address it and they could care less . Good luck and stay away from this brand.

    Nice concept, poor execution. Don't buy!

    Interesting concept with a lot of high tech features. Unfortunately, 4 months after delivery it completely stop working, with a strong smell of chemicals inside and outside. Over $400 worth of food spoiled. Three repair visits in 2 weeks with change of compressor and condenser didn't solve the problem. And LG still refuses to exchange or refund and Best Buy doesn't want any involvement - which makes me reconsider buying from them, after more than 20 years of loyalty. Even after careful search, lots of reviews read and Consumer Reports analysis, we still got burned in this sector of appliances which should be scrutinized more. Unacceptable to have big brands like LG failing in manufacturing at this time of advanced technology.

    One of the worst fridge purchases ive ever made. Problems with the craft ice not working randomly. The door with the glass never shuts properly. The magnetic seal is terrible and the glass access door doesnt latch properly. The door alarm is the most annoying thing ever. It doesnt let you set the time for the alarm it goes off way to soon. Also the doors are lower than a standard french door fridge ao if you have any drawers next to it you have to make sure the drawers are closed or youre going to hit it and mess up the glass of the fridge. This fridge is terribly designed and its the worst 3000 dollars ive ever spent.

    No Fridge Received-Terrible Service

    Safe to say that we will never purchase an appliance from Best Buy again after the headache that we have gone through regarding the delivery service. We have lost their trust. We ordered our refrigerator from the outlet store over a month ago now and we still have not received it. We have scheduled the delivery 8 times and twice we have emptied and prepped our old refrigerator for movement and they never came. After the first attempt, we were told that the fridge was damaged and was not repairable and that we would be getting a new refrigerator. On the 7th attempt, they said again that the fridge was damaged and we were ready to go. We have called and chatted with customer support several times and the service rep had promised us that we would get the fridge on the next delivery and we still don't have it. We are now on the 8th attempt and still no refrigerator, we'll believe it when we see it. Now, this is looking more like a scam and that Best Buy never intended on delivering to us a new refrigerator. Perhaps the whole outlet store is a scam. I never took Best Buy to be a scam place. I have been a longtime Best Buy member for years and never had terrible service with them until now. Their service has degraded considerably. I don't know if I will ever shop with Best Buy again after this ordeal. I can no longer trust Best Buy.

    Buyers beware

    Bought this item and was on sale a few days later for 20% off. Contacted price match department who confirmed unit was on sale for 20%. Was told getting refund over and over again. Finally told by best buy to beat it and no fund refund. There is no accountability. I even have documented saved chats from the agent and still to me to beat it. I will never buy another item here. Buyers beware!!!

    Horrible customer service, didn't honor warranty

    Woke up one day to a flooded kitchen floor: it was leaking from the water / ice dispenser. That was 1 year and 4 days after the purchase: LG refused to provide warranty. The lady on the phone, rude of course, kept repeating that the product was out of warranty for 1 week (one week has 7 days, not 4). She also kept telling me I should have purchased extended warranty. This is not just horrible customer service, but also a horrible product: a $3k fridge should last for many years without issues.

    Fridge was delivered and the top portion would not cool down below 50 degrees. This was the second LG fridge with defectives. Switched to Bosch. Best Buy switched out with no problems.

    This looked great in the store, but is a very expensive piece of junk. The freezer drawer doesn't close properly and is always jamming or having issues. The thermostat doesn't work, so oftentines the freezer is the same temp as the fridge (even when set at the lowest -7). Horrible customer service and veery difficult to get LG on the line to arrange to fix (six months and still waiting). Also, water and ice taste like chemicals so are unusable. This machine is garbage. Waiting to replace. Never buying anything LG again.

    Don't ever buy LG. Fake customer support and fake repair companies that you never hear from. NEVER BUY LG ANYTHING. If you were a sucker like me, I feel sorry for you.
