I went from an iPhone 6 to this phone, I was a little skeptical because of the camera on the iPhone but wow this LG nexus camera blows the iPhone 6 camera out of the water. Not to mention overall speed and functionality of this phone is amazing. I have not been this happy with a phone / camera in a long time.

My 1st smart phone so I have nothing to compare it to. I purchased it because I'm looking to switch to Google Fi. After 2 weeks I've had no problems, camera takes good pix although not comparable to the quality of my Canon t6i. Android interface is straight forward and for me it seems like the right size thinking the larger size phones appear awkward to handle and carry.

I bought this phone for my girl friend and have been extremely pleased with how it works. She was upgraded from one of the cheaper model Android phones. She is comfortable with Android OS so we stayed with this phone. After over 6 months of ownership the phone is still working great. I have the iPhone 6s for comparison...and the camera in particular stands out on this phone. I liked the pictures taken in lower light situations better than what my iPhone 6S did in comparison (we took pictures of the same events and compared who got the better shot). No real problems with the Android OS. I had a Samsung Galaxy S4 prior to my iPhone .... and hated that phone so was leery of spending too much for another Android. But for the money this was the best deal...and worked out as well I could have expected.

This phone is the perfect size for anyone with smaller hands. It has a clear display and takes great photos/video. It supports many different provider networks when unlocked. What a great phone!

This is an OK Entry Level Phone

This is an OK phone that does not do anything special. It obviously is not a best seller because it has dropped $80 in price since I purchased it less than 2 months ago. The camera is Pretty Good, but it has no special features like the Samsung, LG, or HTC branded phones. For Just a Bare Bones Android Experience, this is a good phone. The worst part is having to use Google Hangouts to send and receive SMS Text messages through your Cell Phone Carrier. It really makes it a pain in the butt to send & receive texts. Other than that, It makes calls fine, it can display web pages, you can play games, and the navigation is pretty good. For the Price, this is an OK Phone. If you don't want to shell out $600 for an iPhone for your 6th grader, this is a perfect phone to get them instead. However, their friends will still laugh at them for not having an Apple iPhone. But save your money, Apple Products are Way Over-Priced and can only do just about anything this phone does.

Bought this for my wife. She is very satisfied with this phone. It has a decent camera and a nice upgrade from her 3 year old phone. For being one year old, its not much of a downgrade from most phones today. Camera takes decent pictures in low light. The screen may look darker when taking the pictures, but will lighten up when you view the photo. For being last years nexus phone, its a good purchase. Worth the wait to get after prices are reduced. As are all nexus phones, overpriced.

Love the new charger, it can be plugged into the phone easily and the phone was fully charged in no time. The camera is much better than the Nexus 5.

This phone is the best phone I had so far. I get the most recent updates quicker than any other Android. The camera to me is better than any phone. It fits great in my hand, it's smooth and run smoothly. Just a overall great phone! It deserves more than 5 stars in my book!

I was using this with care. My device broke down within a month. Sending this back to LG to see how they can fix it. Camera quality is good. But using them consumes a lot of battery. Really didnt expect this from LG and Google.

Pure, Fast, but Not for Everyone

I really like my Nexus 5x - 4.5 stars. Previously, I used a Moto X (another great phone). It is pure android. Marshmallow has some great features. The fingerprint scanner is the best feature so far. I can use it as I am pulling my phone from my pocket and it is unlocked by the time I look at the screen. Pros: -Pure android: secure, fast, and zero bloatware -fingerprint scanner has become a go to feature -marshmallow is full of new features. My favorite besides the fingerprint is the ability to allow/disallow app permissions. This gives me full control of what each app can access. -Size: I think it is a perfect size. Large screen for viewing media, but small enough to still fit inside my pocket or my wife's small purse. -Camera take really nice images, especially in low light. -it charges fast -it'll hold a charge for a full day unless you're watching movies all day -it feels solid. Oddly, plastic phones are considered cheap, but all the aluminum/metal phones seem to bend quite easily. I'll stick with plastic. -very lightweight phone -with gorilla glass I don't need a screen protector to protect from scratches so feels really smooth when using the touch screen -price: $350 was worth it. At $400 I might have waited for the Moto X 2016. Cons: -It did lag and it did hang up a few times, but updates have seemed to correct any issues. So, just be aware that out of the box it might be a bit buggy. Get the updates and power it off and on every few days for the first week or so. It worked for me. -The camera operations (not quality) require some getting use to and could be improved. Hopefully, it'll get better with updates from Google. -files are somewhat hidden, but they are there. You may want to get an app to manage folders/files. So, for $350 I have a pure android phone that is secure, fast, and full of useful features like the fingerprint scanner and Marshmallow's permission controls. It has a good camera (if you needed better you'd have a Nikon or Cannon around your neck). It charges very quickly and holds a charge all day for calls, texting, some browsing and app use. It slides in/out of my pocket nicely.

The right balance of price and performance

Overall, I'm liking my N5X. The camera alone has been worth the upgrade. Wanting to replace my Moto X (G2) with a Nexus, I also considered the 6P, but frankly it's just too big and, oddly enough, too premium with its materials: Glass and aluminum look nice but are super slippery, which means you have to slap an ugly old case on it. I wanted something more practical, with a unique enough design and color (the Ice, in my case) but not too flashy, and the N5X fit the bill. Here are my pros (+) and cons (-) so far: + Marshmallow. There are still some bugs, but it's fun to get to know the latest and greatest Android OS. And since it's a Nexus, I'll get the next upgrade first, which is a positive (despite the bugs). + Fingerprint sensor is so handy, pun intended. + I like the headphone jack at the bottom of the phone. At first I thought it would hate it, but I actually prefer it as I find it's less prone to getting tangled. + Camera is solid, especially in low light. - The camera app, however, can be buggy and slow. And as others have said, the feature set is simplistic. That's fine by me since I rarely mess with the settings, but for power users that could be a problem. + The display is nice and sharp, even in bright daylight. - On that note, the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive, especially along the edges - I miss the motion sensor on my Moto X, which displays the time with a wave of your hand. To remedy that, I installed the Wakeup Touch Nexus app, which does the job though not as elegantly. - The ambient display is good, but not as good as Moto's Active Display mostly because it is too brief a flash and doesn't display enough times. - Now on Tap isn't as useful as I'd hoped, so I'm not in the habit of using it yet. - Why did Google take away the swipe-up gesture from the home button? I used that to fire up alternate launchers like App Swap, but now I have to choose between that and Now on Tap. They could've kept both and then I could have both Now on Tap and another launcher.

Solid phone at an amazing price

Quick pro and con list... Pros -Solid but light, nice polycarbonate body, if you like the way the old Nokia smartphones felt you'll love this. -Screen is really nice, especially in this price range -Camera is shockingly good for this price range -Decent amount of storage -Zero carrier bloat, this is clean and pure Android the way Google intended Cons -This is an 'early adopter' device, you will get updates that have bugs, but with monthly updates that often address more than security, you won't live with them very long. -This is an unlocked and 'unbranded' phone so your support is limited to Nexus discussion boards and calling Google, fine with me but if you aren't very technical this may be annoying. If you want a fast, capable phone that is easy on the wallet and will see both Android N and O it's tough to go wrong here.

The phone looks cool though it is made up of cheap plastic. It has got all the nice features. The front and rear camera is good. Loads the applications faster. The display is stunning. But, the catch is, the battery does not hold charge for a long time. The worst battery I have ever seen. Even if you do not use your phone and all the notifications are disabled, the battery loses the charge quickly.
