Beautiful phone; horrible wifi connectivity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted this phone to be able to have the latest and greatest software straight from Google, instead of waiting for updates from our carrier (AT&T). Good idea; bad results. The build of the phone is very nice, as is the UI in the the latest Android OS. Except.... Wifi handling on this phone has been terrible. It drops the WIFI connection to our home network every 20-30 minutes with no warning, and requires a manual re-connect. Not good. Finally got an update of the O/S from Google this week. Oh, and now WIFI drops out after 2 minutes. Very very bad. What the heck, Google?

So much lag
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've really wanted to love this phone since first purchase. The issue is the amount of slowness or lag in so many circumstances. It is slowest when using the camera (which was supposed to be patched for). They tout being able to catch great moments, but by the time the camera actually loads, the moments are long gone. I also missed an alarm this morning due to an entire phone slow down. When I awoke and checked my phone it took forever to respond and that was when I noticed I was 40 minutes late, my alarm never went off. There is a lot to love about this phone, but it is seriously hampered by the amount of slowness I experience on a regular basis, not sure yet if this can be attributed to them lack of RAM or it is something in an application or the OS in general.

A ticking time bomb
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nexus 5X is a good phone. A quality device at a cheap price, it presents the clean Android experience from Google in a comfortable and well-performing package. However, there is a known design issue where every Nexus 5X will inevitably get stuck in a boot-loop - leaving the phone unusable and worthless. My time prior to the boot-loop was good but avoid this phone.

Not recomended.A poor upgrade of the Nexus 5.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my nexus 5 with the 5X. The 5 worked great until I broke it. The 5X is slower, scrolling often jitters, touch screen is poor, often have to tap several times to operate things. I returned the 5X first time for these reasons and the replacement is the same. Battery life seems a bit shorter as well. I will be returning this one as well,

Feel Let Down, POOR Quality Images
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really, really wanted to love this phone. I feel let down. Very let down. I went with the Nexus 5x over the 6p because LG make the 5x and I've never heard of who ever it is that makes the 6p. There are several things that I don't like about this phone, but it's the image quality that moved me to write a review. It sucks. I mean it REALLY SUCKS. Don't be fooled by the 12.3 mp camera with HD settings if you want to use them. The aspect ratio of the images makes them worthless. Had I known the pictures and videos would be such low quality, I would have spent more to get something better. The image quality really took me by surprise. I've had LG phones before and they all took wonderful, high quality pictures and videos. I just assumed it would be the same with the Nexus 5x. It's not at all the same quality, not even close! As mentioned, there are a few things I don't like about this phone. If not for the image quality of pics and vids, I was okay living with them. But if I had it to do over again, I would definitely not buy this phone. My other gripes. *Power and Volume Buttons* When I talk on the phone, or just handle it or have it in my purse, the power button and volume buttons invariably get adjusted. I've missed a lot of phone calls because of this. It can be addressed in the settings, but it's still a pain. *Placement of the Fingerprint Reader* It's literally right under the camera lens. If you like taking pictures with your phone, be prepared to clean the lens often because it will probably be covered in fingerprints. *The Camera Lens* The lens itself is prone to damage because it's not recessed into the camera at all. If you lay your phone on a table or where ever, the lens will be resting directly on that surface. It'll get scratched very easily. Get a phone case that will protect the lens. The case I bought from Best Buy is no good. Absolutely no protection for the lens. The lens will be scratched and covered in fingerprint smudges. Spigen - Ultra Hybrid Case for Nexus 5X Cell Phones - Crystal Clear *Built in Apps* They suck. But those can be replaced. The best thing I can say about this phone is that it charges very quickly and works well as a mobile hot spot. I'd rather have a phone that takes a little longer to charge but takes at least decent pictures

Know what you are in for...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone itself has been great. I don't use it beyond basic apps/some streaming/ and email, and it has performed very quickly with a lot of nice perks - fingerprint unlocking, etc. Unfortunately, one day my phone just crashed...complete black screen. According to some forums, this is actually quite common. I would be ok with a sporadic crash, but now my phone is completely dead without explanation and will result in either a complete wipe of all my data/information or a physical replacement. Really frustrating. Might have to return to Apple
