Did not work out of the box

I unboxed it, plugged it in and tried heating a cup of water. The power came on, lights worked and turntable worked but immediately heard a sparking sound from the magnetron area. After 2 minutes of working, the temperature of the water did not change !! Tried unplugging and plugging, tried different food items to no avail. Called LG customer service and they concluded that the unit is defective. First time I have seen such a defective appliance straight out of the box !

Quit 2 months...BB no responses

I bought this particular microwave because it was beautiful. I would never do that again and feel that this should be discontinued as it quit so quickly

We heard an odd sound and couldn't figure out it's source for hours. Finally we heard a beep and realized it was the microwave. I couldn't even touch it it was so hot. It's under the counter in a sort of "built in" type cubby (not enclosed, follows all safety standards for the microwave). It had been running without even being turned on for hours. The wood around it was literally scorched. This isn't even two years old and now going in the trash while I'm thanking our lucky stars we were home to unplug it!

Could be good, but didn't last

Stopped Working After 18 Months

Crapped out in 5 months

LG replaced the microwave, with a new one under warranty,but it took almost a month. So I bought a GE on clearance with a warranty,and i like it better. Thanks Best Buy

Died after a few months

We purchased this microwave in Sep 2020 (8 months ago) and it is now completely useless. It has had only normal single family use and no damage of any kind but it now shorts out and trips the breaker if you try to use it (immediately after pushing start). What a piece of junk. We also have an LG fridge that died and had to have major repairs within 2 years of purchase so I'm not impressed with the quality of LG appliances. I'll be looking to use other brands moving forward and will definitely not be buying anything else from LG.

Dead After 1 Year

I bought it for my elderly parents in August 2020 based on their needs and the good reviews. As of June 2021 the microwave no longer heats anything. Turntable, panel, etc. work fine but the microwave generator is dead. I will reach out to LG to see if they will stand behind the "warranty." If they will, I will update this review to reflect a good experience of quality customer support. If they obstruct the warranty claim process or make it take forever, which I fully expect, I will also follow up accordingly here.

The 10year warranty is a lie since it "doesn't cover labor" and LG charged $365 to come fix it. What a joke. AVOID THIS BRAND!!!

Unreliable and Cheaply Made

I need to unplug and plug this back in to use it or it beeps every few mins driving us nuts. This is my first LG microwave to match my kitchen suite. Panasonic microwaves have never let me down my entire life but we took a risk to match and it did not pay off. LG makes a great washer, dryer, stove, and refrigerator. However the microwaves are trash. Not worth matching.

Microwave with Frustrating Tech System

This also causes the clock to have to be reset every time. Have only had the microwave for a couple months or so and have had to do this at least once a week. LG support is no help and says it's just like having to restart a cell phone.
