Control Buttons
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great microwave; the only issue I have are the control buttons (which are behind the door) are not illuminated, in dim lighting you almost need a flashlight to see what you're doing.

Extremely noisy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought and connected the LG 1.5 cft counter top microwave. Started heating a cup of water. The unit was making very loud noise- like sheet metal vibrating. Is this normal for this make/ model? My previous unit - different brand- that served for many years was very quiet. It does a good job of heating. I am thinking of returning it. Any experience with this level of noise?

Decent microwave, but is rusting out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been three years of using this microwave. The bottom is starting to rust out in the back left hand corner. It's served us well over the last 3 years, but it seems it's nearing the end of it's life.

Save your money. Buy different brand.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in Nov 2019. It stopped heating anything in Aug 2023. Says 10 year warranty on it, but that only covers one part. The rest of it has a 1 year warranty. There’s no service center in my area so would have to pay someone to find out what’s wrong with it. Save your money. I won’t be buying an LG microwave again.

DON'T BUY ANY LG MICROWAVE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We initially liked this microwave. It's different to operate, but easy enough, and it looked very sleek. Worked well, and we liked the tone at the end, as opposed to the annoying beeping of others. Would like the ability to turn off the end tone altogether, but nobody seems to allow that. At 6.5 months, the microwave died. Judging from the behavior, it was likely a bad magnetron--something that seems to go bad on these microwaves with too much frequency. That death was mid-December. It's now mid-April. Everything that has happened in that time has been wildly frustrating. LG won't replace a dead microwave, even during the warranty period. YOU have to buy another one, and then you'd better start hoping and praying that they reimburse you. I've had EIGHT contacts with them, have submitted all my documentation, etc. The obstructions I've encountered have been simply astounding. We still don't have our money, and they've gotten two microwave purchases out of us. They promise to call, email, etc., and never do. They have a fantastic facade of good customer service--all their comments on reviews here, nice people on the phone, promises and more promises--but it's just an empty shell. They have actually done absolutely nothing. I have a detailed complaint on the Consumer Reports website if you'd like to read the whole account. I also filed a complaint with the FTC. I've got plenty more to do online. I'm now looking into legal recourse.

Stopped Working After Less than Two Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this microwave on Black Friday. We read the reviews and saw that a few people had posted concerns that their unit stopped working shortly after their purchase. An overwhelming amount of people had no complaints and were happy with their purchase. We're wishing we had listened to the few. On 01/16/19, less than two months after we purchased the microwave and after primarily only using the microwave to heat up leftovers and coffee, the unit is no longer working. It will run for about 15 seconds and then flash an F-11 error code. We attempted to unplug and plug back in the unit to reset to no avail. We called customer service, which sounded like they were in India. After retrieving three separate numbers from the unit, customer service offered no solution to repair the unit, gave me a case#, asked me to send a copy of my receipt and to wait for someone to call me in 3-5 days for a replacement. I am happy that it seems they will be arranging for a replacement microwave, but I am extremely unhappy with the process. I came home from a busy day to spend 30+ minutes on the phone with customer service only to have to wait 3-5 more business days for a response from LG, and then, even if they follow through with a replacement, I think it's safe to say it will be another 1-2 week wait for the replacement. This has been extremely inconvenient and frustrating with no offered compensation for our time or inconvenience. We bought this product because we trusted LG and the reviews. No longer a happy LG customer.

Stopped working after a month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the month we used it, the microwave is GREAT. The sensor cooking feature is awesome. HOWEVER, after a month, it stopped working. We had leftovers go around and around and around for several minutes, still cold. We called LG customer support to troubleshoot to see if it was user error causing the trouble: It wasn't. Best Buy's return policy is 15 days, so we're going to try and see if LG will honor the year warranty on it. I don't have high hopes for its replacement, however.

Seriously?!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave oven blew a fuse 26 months after purchasing it from Best Buy Store 451 in Beaverton, Oregon on July 6, 2019. I replaced the fuse, and it blew again immediately after setting the cook time and pressing "Start." (A blown fuse indicates deeper problems within, regardless of whether the fuse is fast- or slow-blow.) The labor cost alone charged by the LG-recommended local appliance repair shops is $40 less than the original purchase price. They told me that this applies even if the problem is the magnetron tube, which is covered by a 10-year warranty. But hey! I guess I should be HAPPY that this highly-rated product outlived its 1-year warranty by a whopping 14 months!!! Can't beat that! Apparently, I have money to waste on temporary-durability LG products. Another short-lived product to the landfill! Based on my experience, this product is a "Don't Buy."

Digits failing then smoke and sparks…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about 2 years the digits started failing, and by the end of year 3 the clock no longer worked and we had about 70% of the number digits working when setting a cooking time. Today, aft3er roughly 5 years, heavy smoke and sparks emanated from the right side of the interior so time to buy a new microwave. Non-LG.

Beware of horrible tones/sounds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave works just fine, but the sing-song sounds it makes to alert you your food is done will drive you insane. This isn't just a beep, it's a mini song that sounds like it's coming from a small child's room. The other con is there is no keypad. You push a + or - button to add time, no entering odd numbers. That I could get used to, but the sounds this thing made forced me to return it.

75% are going to have display problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display stopped working correctly after about 2 years. We have several of these at work as well and 2 of those 3 have display problems. 75% failure rate based on the 4 I have personally seen. Since there is no number pad to input your cook time, you have no idea how long you are setting it to cook for when using the slider thing while the display is broken. You have to add up how many times you need to press the +30 seconds button and do it that way. While it is cooking, you have no clue how much time is left. Only reason it hasn't gone in the trash is because of how much it cost and how well it cooks food. I'd fix it if I could find a replacement part, but nobody has them in stock.
