Did Not Work Fresh Out of the Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this microwave LAST NIGHT. It did not work from the beginning, had an F-11 error code. I called LG and was extremely disappointed with their customer service. The 1st rep told me that I'd hear from them in 3-5 days and that they would then schedule someone to come my home to repair it. I said that that was not acceptable and I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that a supervisor would call me back within 1 hour. Big surprise, they didn't call me back. I called LG back and asked to speak to a supervisor. After a 15 minute wait the supervisor told me that it would take 4-6 WEEKS to get a return authorization from LG, they do not send send someone to make repairs (which is different from what I was previously told) or that I could take it back to Best Buy. She was pretty snippy. The microwave is going back to Best Buy and I will never by another LG product. I've wasted plenty of my time plus bringing it back is a big hassle. Lousy product, lousy LG customer service.

Poor user interface

There is no numeric keypad to key in exact time. Instead you have to press + button for every 10 secs. So stupid. Can’t stand it. Going back. Stay away.

Beeping is a song :(

I dont want a little song to play every time my microwave is done. For a minimalist look, you would expect a minimalist tone. Also it doesn't CLEARLY state there is a song for the beeper anywhere I could find.

Stopped heating after 3 months

We purchaed total tech plan unfortunately that does not mean anythjng in regards to the microwave per customer service after 90 days. We were in an emergent need when we purchased this unit but we’re going back to whirlpool.

Canceled microwave trim kit after i placed order

Best Buy debited my credit card for the price of my purchase and then sent me a cancel notice on the trim two minutes later. Now I’ve got a microwave with no trim piece and I’ll have to go on a search to find a trim piece because the existing trim I have does not fit. I’m not sure how, their warehouse management system doesn’t even know that they don’t have something in stock that’s on their site. This is very frustrating. I’m a Best Buy VIP member and this is the type of service I get?

WASTE OF MONEY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my microwave in 2021 and 4 years later with following instructions on cleaning and properly taking care of it, on the last cleaning my daughter did she told me that there was a giant hole in the back corner of the microwave and it went from the inside to the outside. We are a family of not a lot of money so this was a big purchase DONT BUY WASTE OF MONEY!!

Not enough cook time options

BUT WHY CAN I NOT USE 1 SECOND INTEVELS. I was going to nuke up some katz brand donut holes and the recommened time was 13 seconds to warm those bad boys up and i had the options of 10 or 20 seconds. If i was goldylocks this microwave would have been tossed out and replaced with a samsung.

Door sticks at four months old.

It sticks. You have to pry it open with one hand while pushing the button with the other. It’s the most annoying thing ever. Worked great for four months and now sticks all the time. I’d expect better for a microwave at this price point. LG makes terrible appliances.

Deceptive Warranty Claims

Buyer Beware - Died after 6 months and 3 weeks.

Six months and three weeks agter purchase the magnetron failed. Keys work, lights come on, platter turns and a clicking noise with no heating. Still waiting to hear back from LG service. Purchased ESP but since unit is still under manufacturer's warranty I can make a claim. Also have a LG French Door refrigerator that failed shortly after purchase - took tech hald a dozen visits to getr repaired properly. So LG has not done well for me, Recommend buying anoither brand. Our old Panasonic lasted over 10 years so take it for what it is worth.

We bought it and loved it and it said right on it that it had a ten year warranty. Well, that doesn't mean much because all that covers is the parts. I would have to pay for the service which would be about as much as the unit cost new....

No energizer bunny

Lasted 11 months only (insert sad emoji)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rating = poor because the microwave stopped working in 11 months -- up until then it was a rockstar appliance. Purchased 11/28/2019 and failed on 11/1/2020. We are a 2-person responsible adult household who doesn't even use the microwave except every 2 to 5 days. We took excellent care of it. After cooking raw sliced potatoes for 10 minutes in a microwave safe cooking dish, I then cooked raw asparagus for 5 minutes. I smelled an electrical burning odor and the microwave started making a slight clicking sound. It no longer heated food despite the rotation plate working and light coming on with the buttons being functional. Its death broke my heart because when this microwave did work it heated food fast and evenly. The irony is that after exclaiming what an amazing microwave it was, it died in less than 10 minutes of me saying this. Back to the grind to find a new microwave (non-LG); the Oyster I had prior lasted ~10 years. I won't buy LG again.

It performed well for one year only

Well this one didn’t...Exactly one year after purchasing this microwave I had to go buy a new one. I would turn it on and it would just shut off after 15 seconds. And I can promise you we didn’t over work it either. Very disappointed with this product.

Product Failed in Under a Year - Never LG Again

Good while it lasted :( but didn't last long

We have to unplug for 1 min then it sometimes works. My last microwave, a Sharp, lasted 20 years. I expected more from LG. What a waste.

Posted .The F-3 error code indicates that the temperature does not go down after the cooking cycle ends. Here are three things you can try to fix the issue.
1. Thermistor has a short. Try opening and closing the door two or three times to get rid of the issue.
2. Try unplugging the microwave for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in and try to operate it again.
3. If the error code persists, the microwave will require service. To schedule the out of warranty repair you can contact your local technicians for service.

Broke in less than 3 months

Unit broke on day 70; and literally used it only to reheat coffee and leftovers. Best Buy return policy wouldn't accept return. LG tells me to apply for a for refund as LG had no authorized repair facility in my area. After submitting refund paperwork (per their instructions) LG refuses the refund request. I had spoken via phone (2 times) and emailed (2 times) to LG and at no time did anyone say that physical labels were required for the reimbursement. The broken microwave went to the dump after my first call to LG. It wasn't until after email #2 that they told me the physical labels from the back of the microwave needed to be submitted. Such poor quality and even worse customer service because they won't stand behind their products and do the right thing.

Failed in 18 Days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Guess I got a lemon. It failed after 18 days, maybe 10 uses. Kept saying "Door" in the display after being closed and would not run. But props to Best Buy. Even though their official return policy is 15 days they let me exchange it for another. I would have looked for something different, but I'm limited by what will fit the space. Hopefully the new one will last. The GE it replaced was 23 years old and still worked except for the "1" on the keypad. If I'd had to deal with LG, the warranty process is a mess. That's why I ended up calling Best Buy. LG requires a several step process which includes buying a new one and sending them the receipt for reimbursement. No timetable for their responses along the way.

Broke after 2.5 months

I really liked this microwave when I first got it. But after 2.5 months, it completely stopped working. It makes a clicking noise when you turn it on; the light still comes on, but it does not heat up food at all. It's a huge disappointment and a real inconvenience, especially since we're in the middle of a pandemic. My previous microwave lasted for more than a decade; this one is worthless and I would avoid it at all costs.

Did not last

This microwave worked great at first and now it’s 18 months old and begins not to cook as hot as it once did. Food is taking longer and longer to cook. Soon I am sure it will stop heating all together. I called LG and they said it might be the magnetron and it is under warranty but I would need to pay the labor. Basically this means it will be the same price to just buy another microwave. This is the most expensive microwave I’ve purchased and has lasted the least amount of time. It’s not worth the money..
