Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased in Feb 2019 (only three years ago) to replace a GE microwave from 2014. This heats up food much faster than the GE microwave. The optional stainless stain trim kit that is used to mount the microwave into a cabinet costs more than the microwave itself. Unfortunately, the button which is used to open the door has a plastic hinge which wore out and no longer securely holding the button in place when the button is pressed to open the microwave. Out of the 8 microwaves that I have had throughout the years, this is the first time that this defect has occurred.

While it is a decent product for the price it is not worth the time or effort to have it repaired. One would have thought a frequently used open/close button would last if not anything else. It seems LG couldn't be bothered to get a very basic thing right.

Then the magnatron went out and the magnetron has a ten warranty --in home warranty as stated on LG site and manual included with unit. I have wasted ten phone calls and eight hours trying to resolve. BESTBUY did not help. LG said since they have no repair facilities in denver , they would replace unit ..3 days later they said rep was not authorized to replace. Then they gave me three names for repair. Then they gave five more. All said they do not like working on lg since they can not get parts and are never reimbursed for their services. All refused, and then it gets worst.. I found someone to repair it -- not authorized-- lg said it would be easier to get authorized and they would send the part to them in a few days.. Instead they sent him a letter requiring him to get authorized by the customer and he would need to reorder the part that was supposed to arrive last week. SN 908tazfc426 Model lmc2075 cnn

Disappointing quality

When it came to purchasing a new microwave 14 months ago, I had no problem purchasing another LG product. About 10 months in, we had problems with the door. It wouldn't open because moisture would get in the seal and create a vacuum lock so we were constantly keeping the door edge clean after each use. After 14 months, the microwave shutdown in the middle of cooking and tripped the circuit breaker. Since it is out of warranty, customer service informed me LG is not proving support. So if you want to waste your money and buy a disposable microwave that will last just over a year, buy this one. As for me, this will be the last LG product I'm buying.
