I wasn't thrilled, but we lived with it. Then at 2 years it stopped heating food. I called LG customer service because the Magnetron Smart Inverter has a 10 year warranty. However, the warranty only covers the part, not labor, which starts at $119 to come diagnose the appliance, and then $80/hour to repair it. So I'm looking at a minimum of $200+ and weeks of waiting to utilize the "warranty" for an appliance that I can go buy today for $230. The warranty is worthless for a lower priced type appliance like this (vs. a more expensive type like a fridge or washing machine). I will NOT be buying this microwave again. The warranty is a tactic to instill a false sense of security.

My guess is most of the reviews were written soon after purchase. The unit is very good for a relatively short time frame and then the cheap parts in the door open button break and in my case, the digits in the read out disintegrate to the point that they they can not be read. LG would be good to get out of the microwave business or spent a few bucks more and make a product that does not denigrate their company name

Our magnetron failed about 2 years later and although it’s under warranty, getting service from both LG and Best Buy are nearly impossible. LG says to call Best Buy and Best Buy tells me to call LG. Would highly recommend not purchasing a LG microwave as it appears to be a common problem 2-3 years after ownership and microwaves should last way longer than that.

By, oh my god, had I known it has THE most annoying, obnoxious chime song to indicate the food is done, I would NOT have bought it. I have searched many sites to find out how to disable this horrible, horrible sound. Surely in the year 2019, the smart LG engineers would have empowered their customers to mute this infernal song. But NO. Despite hundreds (perhaps thousands) of complaints about the sing-song chime, the answer is that no one at LG thought anyone would hate it so much that they'd want to through it out the window. There is no way to turn the sound off. If it weren't such a colossal hassle to return it, I'd give it the heave-ho. It literally makes me dread using it. My other microwave lasted 15 years. Today, 3 weeks into this new one, I'm praying for its death. Save yourself. Do not buy this model.

Audible signals are available to guide you when setting and using the oven: A tone will sound each time you touch a key. A melody signals the end of a Timer countdown. A melody signals the end of a cooking cycle. These signals cannot be turned down or turned off. ^CP
