I bought this as an open item product. I saved around $40 right away. it was also available at the time on sale to for $90 brand new... on sale or open item I think its a good value, but not on sale I think it should have included an hdmi cable to justify the price. The product does perform well, and has good online content.

I was very hesitant at first, not realizing that DVD's had "Shrunk". Good thing my daughter shopped with me that day and was able to convince me that they no longer make the Dinosaur Dvd player that I had. This one was on sale and it was an LG product which I favor. All the added features made it worth getting this product. Love it!

This player is everything I had hoped for. I haven't used its Internet streaming capabilities yet because its current location lacks Wi-Fi. But as a DVD and Blu-Ray player it's perfect. Best Buy had it on sale and so the cost was minimal. Its connection is HDMI only, but thee days that's all you need.

Most of the videos I watch are on hard drive: MKV, AVI etc. The LG handles these files with great aplomb rarely giving the "unrecognized format" message. It also does a great job rewinding and fast forwarding through these videos, a function many blu-ray players seem to have difficulty performing. The only complaint I have is the constant need to re-configure my WiFi setup. The device constantly loses the configuration requiring that I identify the network and re-enter the pin code. I've done it so many times I have it memorized. I'm not a Netflix or Hulu user but if I were I would find this extremely annoying. There is also a limited amount of online content available so if you're looking for a blu-ray media-streamer look elsewhere. If you're looking for a blu-ray player that also plays a variety of file formats (like me) then this model will do nicely.
