I like the steam feature. I also like the air dry feature. The lint screen does an excellent job of catching lint and hair.

LG got great reviews in Consumer Reports, so I bought this in November 2012. So far, so good. Dries efficiently, seems sturdy, has a great sweater tray and no issues. There are so many options to choose from, and I am very happy so far. I did not buy the pedestals for this because I didn't need them. Also, the delivery/set up guys were fantastic, very impressed.

the dryer is great but best buy did not deliver on time and didn't call. we had to make a herculean effort to get anyone to give us a straight answer on what was going on. if the call center sends you offshore, forget it. they don't know anything and they're worthless.

Does a great job. 12 cycles plus 10 options looks like a bit of overkill, or does that make it real high tech and attract men to help with the laundry?

I am very happy with this dryer although I was a little disappointed with the steam cycle. It wasn't as effective as I would have liked in removing wrinkles from a shirt. I still had to iron it.

Purchased a washer and dryer. The washer came first and worked great. The dryer arrived two weeks later. Upon starting it up I heard a loud grating/grinding noise. I re-read the instructions to ensure everything was right, called LG. After answering their questions they told me the best they can do is a service call in one week! I told the LG rep I was not happy, that it should just be replaced, as it should work right out of the box, if they manage to fix it why should I keep a defective product, also I have no idea when this drier will be actually running ... and its brand new! LG Rep didn't seem to care and couldn't get off the phone fast enough, thats not how you should treat a customer in this situation. I'm just going to return it and get my money back. Luckily my 25 year old Maytag was working perfect when I pulled it out to put this one in. It definately does not look as nice BUT IT WORKS, for 25 years ... I researched before buying and went with LG for quality and customer service. Sorry LG but you blew this one, especially the customer service part.

    It's a wrinkler, not a dryer

The end-of-cycle signal has three loudness settings, from barely audible to feeble. If you're not in the same room, you won't hear it, no matter what the setting. And when the cycle ends, the dryer just stops - it doesn't keep tumbling without heat to prevent wrinkles, like most dryers do. It does have a option to keep tumbling for a little while at the end of the cycle, but selecting that option turns off the signal completely. It's as if they designed this thing deliberately to prevent you from taking the clothes out in time. BTW, the steam cycle is just a useless marketing gimmick. The dryer shoots more water into the drum than steam, so some parts of some items will be soaking wet while the rest of it is over-dried. Otherwise, the dryer is ok. But don't buy it unless you have a lot of time on your hands and don't mind baby-sitting it.

15 months old needs a PCB board

Purchased this dry in July of 2013 - 15 months later we replaced the PCB board - main board in the unit. Very disappointed in the quality of the electronics of this dryer. This is obviously not unknown to LG because upon a search of this drying not shutting off - YUP - the only issue I found was you have to replace this $100 board. It seems to be a common issue with the 3470v model
