Would not recommend to anyone. This dryer was bad. It was an open box item, so therefore it was cheap. Well that goes to show, I would never buy an open box item again. it worked the first day!!!

like the dryer; lower rating because of pedestal

I like this dryer. It dries clothes much faster than my other dryer and has plenty of room. The pedestal, however, is expensive and isn't even tall enough to hold most cleaning supplies. It won't even store the steam tray that comes with the dryer. The engineers need to start over on the pedestal design. It doesn't appear that they gave it much thought.
As for pricing from Best Buy (Pacific Sales), they gave us a fair price on the dryer itself. Would consider using something else to raise the dryer if I were to do it again.

I was skeptical at first of the price of this unit. But when you have this kind of capacity on the washer you're going to need a dryer that can handle that. This dryer does a great job of drying huge loads of laundry and has cut our number of loads easily in half. The steam options are great for removing wrinkles. I would highly recommend this dryer (and the matching washer). If interested you can see more details in my in depth review on YouTube at http://youtu.be/P5Bf4XGweQw.

Great Choice for Extra Large Capacity

My wife had purchased a LG set before we were married and convinced me of their performance and utility. After a year I must totally agree. I read a lot of reviews, went through all the details of all the top rated models and brands and picked this unit and the matching washer. Everything works and better than expected. Drying times are much lower, synthetic stuff and athletic wear are dry in 35 min from the time I take them out of the washer. Bulky items are no problem with the size of the opening and drum.
Very satisfied.

This is the most I've ever spent on a dryer, and I have to say it was worth it. I bought it mostly for the size, but after trying just about all the extras and specialized cycles by now I appreciate the overall quality and versatility. Especially the steam function that does not need a connection to the water lines is nice.

This dryer is great and is very large so make sure you have the space for them especially if you have cabinets above and will be using pedestals. The dryer performed great and I liked the steam cycle. We had issues with the matching washer and decided to take the set back and we went with another well known brand and like it much better. However I LOVED the stainless on this set. The set we bought did not offer it :(

Love this dryer and the washer that matches it. Clothes come out clean and fresh, dryer looks beautiful. I love the steam setting. When I use the allergiene setting on the washer and/or steam setting on dryer, I can sniff my clothes without sneezing or having any allergic irritation woohoo!

Doesn't over dry your clothes. When steam is used, it leaks from the nozel but according to the book, this is norrmal. in the beginning of the cycle it does make a banging noice that does go away. Over all... a good dryer. Has more features then you need and priced to high. LG needs to make a basic dryer to match the washer.

First, let me cut to the chase and say that my permanent press clothes come out of this dryer looking worse than either of its two predecessors. Shirts that never came out wrinkled before now do. And that's when using the wrinkle guard. Further, if I use the static guard and wrinkle guard, my shirts often come out with wet spots. Parts of the shirt will be bone dry and other spots will be downright wet. There is a setting for how dry you want your clothes and the default is "normal". There are two settings which are dryer than "normal". Why in the world would I want anything less than totally and completely dry? This baffles me. And the only way to change the default is to create a custom cycle - and you can only save one of those. So, if you create custom cycle for your permanent press, as I have, you then have to manually change it when doing anything else.
I might also note that the buttons on the panel where you select all these settings are not backlit. The indicators, yes; the buttons, no. I quite frequently have to get out a flashlight and shine it directly on the panel to read what I'm setting. The overhead light, above the dryer is not adequate for the task. You can't always get the exact combination you want either. For example, I have a couple of pieces of clothing that say, "warm gentle". No such cycle or combination of buttons will get you there. And, even after reading the manual, I can't always figure out how to do what I want to do.
There are two positive comments I can make. The first is that it does handle a large load easily. The second is that the steam cycle for touching up your clothes seems to work well. But I rarely use that.
I let the salesman talk me into this washer and dryer, after I went in looking for something else and I can say that I will never listen to another salesman's recommendation ever again - at least, not where appliances are concerned.
