To date (using them for about 6 weeks) they seem to be very good units with an array of features and built in apps as well as Wi Fi functionality which might be even more helpful with an older TV as the new LGs already have these same apps as part of their "Smart TV" functionality. Probably the biggest drawback was that they were relatively expensive units; but, I wanted to match brands to get best functionality from remotes, etc as well.

Loads and runs quickly and quietly. Feels like quality. Remote is basic though.

Unit will lock up and cannot be overridden with the remote. Lower resolution (1080p) works well. Audio is very good. Not for the serious videophile, ok for the average viewing situation.
